Need help to unbrick my tab. Here's what happed.
My tab wont boot, stucked at Samsung logo. everything is wiped out. Data was formatted, no more backup files and flashable roms saved. But the good news is, I can still enter recovery which is a twrp 2.8.3.0 and in download mode.
Heres what I've done so far:
1St try:
Tried to connect tab to a Windows 7 x64 and install the tab driver but tab was not recognized by Odin. Tried using sideload with twrp still the tab won't be recognized.
On Windows, I can see Samsung adb on device manager.
2nd try:
Using Linux. Tab is not recognized in lsusb.
So I'm stuck. Don't know what to do next.
1. Is there a way to use adb while on Recovery?
Bump.
Anybody? @decatf does your twrp can detect OTG USB? Thanks
Best bet is to flash back an official stock Rom through Odin and Download mode. The latest one thrown out by Samsung is an ICS Rom.
But we don't know what Rom were you using. If it was a Lollipop, I'm not sure this can be done, sorry.

Hi all,
I did a bad work with my galaxy tab. I've flashed it with a new ROM but this ROM is not working correctly, I can't see correctly my display probably due to a bad driver inside the build. My problem is that I've no more a working ROM on my galaxytab and I can't reflash it.
USB seems not working correctly, so device is powered on but I can't access to it from Windows.
Is there a way to to upload a file to internal storage in recovery mode or download mode?
Thanks
Stefano
Stefano,
Depends what recovery you have as recovery...stock recovery no you can't, clockwork recovery yes you can. From download you can use Odin.
What model Tab do you have? Wifi, 3G? What version firmware were you on before the problem and what do you want to restore to?
Ciao
Hi, yes I've Clockwork installed but how I can 'upload' a file using Odin? The standard guide shows that Odin3 is used only to upload a .tar.md5 file to root the phone....
Thanks

That's why i asked what sort of tab you have and what you want to flash your tab to..
There are odin files available to go back to 3.0.1, to go to Early Touchwiz, both for Wifi only tabs...if you are really stuck it is often beneficial to go all the way back to 3.0.1 then go in whatever direction you like.
Or, if the tab is sort of working even tho the display is corrupt you might be able to connect and use adb to push a rom to the sdcard and then flash from clockwork. More info Stefano, what have you got by way of tab, and where do you want to get to?
Download the samsung drivers on your computer . Then install android sdk so you can use the adb if you haven't already. Then you can adb to push a rom to your device and flash.
I'll try ASAP...I'll also add ROM and device details.
I've a Samsung Galaxy TAB 10.1 GT-P7500
Problem is with ROM: [ROM][CWM][EUR][3G] BroodComb G-P7500 XWKG9 [ALPHA]

Hello, this is my problem.
My brother has a Galaxy Player YP-G1CWYXAA (U.S. version) and he tried to install a kernel, but it was not for that model, so the player was bricked, just started in download mode (using key combination)
I have tried to restore it using several tutorials, wtih the same result. If I try to install the original kernel in ODIN get FAIL, other kernels it is possible to install but the player always starts in recovery mode.
I can install roms using recovery, but always starts in recovery. I read that it is necessary to do a fullwipe and wipe cache partition. I did it and the problem continues.
I need to suggest me what else I can do.
Thanks
PD: sorry for my english

I've tried a lot of times. There are several tutorials, I've followed all of them without positive results. Using "stock rom" and ODIN I get "FAIL" when flashing kernel. Using Heimdal suite, there is a problem with "libusb-12", there is no way to do it.
I've tried everything I found during last week, always the same result: stock kernel doesn't function and custom kernels get me to recovery.
Thanks
PD: I'm not a noob, I have some experience flashing phones with ODIN, Flashtools (Sony) an others
I just recovered my Player 4.0 USA from the same symptoms. I tried everything to get it to boot but I could only get to recovery or download mode after a failed attempt to revert from ICS. By default, it would just boot directly to recovery. I also got FAIL with odin and the stock rom that you referenced. The problem is that the Odin package for our player in the stock rom thread is corrupt. I downloaded Heimdall and used the other package for our device and was able to flash it back to stock successfully.
As for the errors you got in Heimdall, did you make sure to overwrite the drivers in heimdall before starting? While in Download mode, you have to go to Drivers/Zadig.exe in the heimdall folder and hit "show all devices" (or whatever it says in the menu) and then find anything that says samsung and hit replace driver. Once you do that, Heimdall will work. I originally had the same problem as you because I only replaced the driver while in CWM recovery (which was in ADB mode) and when I rebooted to download mode, it failed with the exact same error message.
Hope that helps.

I installed the drivers and that messed it up even more. Now Odin doesn't recognize my device and I can't flash anything to it. :crying:

That's because you installed heimdall driver. If you want to get it detected by odin, just go into device manager and uninstall the samsung driver then unplug your device and plug it back. The normal driver should be re-installed properly and odin should be detecting it after. Or, I think there is an option in zadig driver to unistall it but I'm not sure.

Well what happened when you actually attempted to flash the player directly from heimdall? Heimdall is not just for drivers, but an alternative to Odin (and in my case, the only way I could get the factory flash to take because using Odin, it failed every time).
I was formatting my phone's internal storage in TWRP recovery and I accidently wiped my ROM instead of formatting data. Now there's no OS on my phone i.e it's soft bricked.Odin won't detect my phone on my winXP PC,I got the samsung drivers installed and I made sure no kies process is running.I tried mounting the storage in recovery but when I click on it on my PC,it tells me ''please insert a disk''.I wanna try flashing stock ROM using ubuntu but I just don't know how.I know it's by using hemidall but I'm not very experienced with linux.I just need the codes that I have to put in the terminal.
Can you boot in to TWRP recovery? If you can, you could just flash another rom from there. If not i just did a quick search of google for "i9300 flash stock firmware heimdall ubuntu" and came across this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1947975

You can always put a rom on your external sd card (if you have one) just plug it in to an adapter (again, if you have one) and pop it back in the S3. And i bet in future you'll make a back up
Good luck.
Didn't work and I don't have an external SD.Well I guess I'm f***ed :/ NOPE.As I was typing this,I thought about trying to boot my phone while it's connected to the PC and while it was stuck at ''galaxy s3'' logo,it installed additional drivers(I thought all of them were installed) and odin detected my phone.I just saved myself a visit to my other house where my main PC is which I used to do all the flashing stuff before moving here Thanks for your help

There's a program called HeimDall. You can use that to re-flash stock firmware or you can install VirtualBox and Windows on top of that, then you download the stock firmware to the virtual machine and Odin and you can set it to read/write to and from the USB ports
Hope I could help!

Hi
A few months ago I plunged in , rooted my Tab 10.1 (P7500 3G) with TWRP v2.2.0 and installed Cyanogenmod 10.? successfully.
A few weeks ago I started getting random reboots which increased in frequency until finally it started to reboot during the cyanogenmod logo at start up.
I can still access TWRP so I believe all is not lost. So now I want to wipe my tab and flash with a Lollipop ROM I get on this site.
My problem is I did not have the samsung USB driver installed on my PC, so before windows can install them, the tab reboots. or if I go into TWRP it disconnects before the driver is installed.
So now I do not know how to get the ROM zip file on my tablet?
other info:
Windows 7
Odin3 v1.8 (which I got when I rooted originally)
any help would be appreciated
Wilhelm

You could download those drivers from Samsung. I've never tried connecting my tab to my pc when in twrp so I can't help you with that. Option b would be to download the stock ICS rom from sammobile and flash it with Odin with your tab in download mode. It gives you a fresh start and a chance to start hating touchwiz all over again

Hi, downloaded the drivers already, but I can't seem to install them while in twrp, the tab seems to disconnect from PC and driver install fails.
I will see if I can connect with the tab through Odin while in twrp. Edit: Odin does not connect to the tab
The Lollipop ROM I have is a ZIP file so as far as I know you need to copy it to the Tab and then flash with twrp? You cant seem to flash it through Odin.
I still have a Nameless-4.4.2 ROM on the tab that I can flash, I will give this a try.

Ok thanks, got that figured out, this is only my second ROM change.
I had a problem wiping the Delvic cache, it get stuck until eventually the battery dies, but never completes the wipe.
I am having some problem now getting a ROM that can be flash from Odin. The zip file I downloaded so far all seem corrupt or empty . I eventually flashed a ROM (P7500XWLP5_P7500OJVLP5_P7500XXLQ8_HOME.tar.md5) I had on my hard drive, not sure which one this is....
The flash went fine, but now I am stuck at the SAMSUNG logo that comes up after the stars and animation sequence. I will leave it over night on charge and see if it will boot up.

I'm betting it won't go past the samsung logo. If it does, great! If it doesn't you'll need to do a factory reset. That helped for me.

Check samsung-updates site to find the right stock ROM for your region .
Hello, I am searching for help with my bootlooped galaxy tab 10.1
It's stuck on the secondary logo that is a glowing
"samsung"
I have clockwork recovery installed along with correct usb drivers.
Samsung kies does not recognize device.
Odin crashes when attempting to load files.
I have a quality usb cable
Model # is gt-p7510ma ,no SD card option.
Did you recently flash a new ROM to cause it to boot loop, if not, what were you doing that caused you to reboot the device? If unsure, try using Logcat to see what is causing the problem.
If you have a backup, try wiping device and restoring from that, or if you did flash a rom right before try wiping and flashing another to see if that is the problem.
Odin crashes when attempting to load files.
Use Latest version of Odin , Reinstall your phone drivers , when you put files make sure you put in right place and let him a while to load that files don't touch anything . Once is finish with loading then put your galaxy in to the Download mode and connect on PC .
I received it in this condition. I was able to put clockwork on it through odin but not the stock rom I think. Odin crashes when trying to put the regular tar file on it. I'm not opposed to using rom either. I was told the tablet is rooted and given passwords/pin #for whatever.

Then I think is problem with your PC , and that way your Odin is crash.
Use CCleaner to repair and Clear Registry , Reboot your PC and try again if not , try on another PC .
Other phones connect to it and I was able to put clockwork recovery on it through doin. It only crashes when I try to put a stock rom on it
