Hi,
Here are the steps that got me into this situation:
1. My provider installed a test version on my Galaxy S2 in order to resolve some problems.
2. After the above I rooted my device using ODIN 1.85 and SuperOneClick 2.1.1 using XWKDD insecure kernel.
The versions of my phone now are:
Model Number GT-I9100T
Android version 2.3.4
Baseband version I9100TJIKI1
Kernel version 2.6.35.7-I9100XWKDD-CL161513 [email protected]#2
Build Number GINGERBREAD.JIKI2
My intention is to flash CWM in order to install Cyanogenmod ROM. When I tried to flash the CWM using ROM Manager it failed. From what I read it is because I have 3e recovery.
I saw some suggestions for resolution, like flashing a stock kernel and than flash CWM again to avoid the invalid signature problem.
However, I couldn't find any kernel that fits my device situation.
Any suggestions for a route I can take to resolve the situation?
a route that will leave my device functioning
Flash cyanogenmod true recovery without rom manager. If the first flash fails, wipe everything, advanced>>wipe dalvik cache> then flash again.
Shouldn't I first flash ClockWorkMod Recovery in order to flash a custom ROM like CM?
At the moment when I boot into recovery I am getting an error "failed to verify whole-file signature"
Yeah you need to flash a rooted kernel via Odin first.
That kernel should be rooted and have CWM and busybox.
I would try to root with a compatible kernel to your stock one so you can do a backup through CWM incase you want to restore if you don't want to stay with cm7.
Check out siyah of cfroot threads for downloads and instructions. Just to get CWM if nothing else.
Check out the Australian thread to see what they used to root their i9100T devices.
In any case intratechs original firmware thread has your stock firmware to flash via Odin so if you need to you can reinstall to how it came out of the box.
Honestly forget kies and Rom manager and stick with Odin and CWM.
Good luck.
Edit: cm7 might have an Odin flashable version in which case you will be rooted after the flash.

My device is now rooted (I even use Titanium Backup).
Digging some more I found the following instructions to flash CM7 which include flashing CWM using Heimdall. Do you think it is safe to work according to these instructions considering that currently I have XWKDD kernel installed?
* Download codeworkx's kernel with the ClockworkMod Recovery and the Heimdall Suite.
Windows ONLY:
1. Power off the Samsung Galaxy S II and connect the microUSB to the computer but not the Samsung Galaxy S II.
2. Boot the Samsung Galaxy S II into download mode by holding down Home & Volume Down while connecting the microUSB to it.
3. Run the included zadig.exe in the drivers folder of the Heimdall Suite.
4. From the menu, choose Options » List All Devices.
5. From the drop down, select Samsung USB Composite Device or Gadget Serial.
Click Install Driver.
NOTE: A prompt may appear warning that the installer is unable to verify the publisher of the driver. Ignore it and select "Install this driver anyway."
Heimdall can now be used safely on the Windows computer.
NOTE: For more information about the Heimdall Suite, please read the included README.txt.
1. Power off the Samsung Galaxy S II and connect the microUSB to the computer but not the Samsung Galaxy S II.
2. Boot the Samsung Galaxy S II into download mode by holding down Home & Volume Down while connecting the microUSB to it.
3. Untar codeworkx's kernel into the Heimdall directory.
On the computer, open terminal and run the following command from the Heimdall directory:
4. heimdall flash --kernel zImage
5. A blue transfer bar will appear on the phone showing the kernel being transferred. The device will reboot automatically.
6. The Samsung Galaxy S II now has the ClockworkMod Recovery installed. Continue to the next section.
I've never used heimdall. Worth a try if you follow the steps.

Hey,
Here's the link : http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/?page=3&t=1&o=1&m=GT-I9100G&r=2#regiona
There you can select the Malaysian firmware for instance (since it's the latest amongst)
But first find your own firmware (the KI1) and save it on your laptop just in case you needed to fallback.
As for the procedure of flashing it's very simple, it has been listed by so many users on the forum here.
What I usually follow is this one:
###Downloads###
1- Install Samsung Kies from samsung.com
2- download the package from sammobile (it will mostly redirect you to hotfile.com, and you will have to download a (340MB ZIP)
3- Download Odin3 V1.83, it is the most appropriate with the GT-I9100G
####INSTALLATIONS#####
1- Install Samsung Kies [Needed later by ODIN for driver use]
2- Once Kies is installed and is able to run, close it and kill all the KIES processes in the Windows TASK Manager.
3- Make a directory in the C:\tmp for your update [name it without spaces]
4- Place the firmware pkg and Odin pkg there
5- Extract the firmware ZIP and the Odin ZIP
6- Take down the GS2 to download mode [syncro: POwer + Home + Vol_down]
7- start Odin
8- Connect the GS2 to the USB [if you're on a PC, use the back USBs]
9- Odin will identify its recognition of the GS2 with a yellow marker saying [ID:COMX]
10- Make sure you check only the AutoReboot and the F.Reset Time [NOTHING ELSE]
11- Click on PDA and go to your unzipped firmware directory [where you will have a .tar.md5 file] and select that file
12- Press on start in Odin
13- Odin should do the flash
14- The Phone will reboot if all is successful
15- Voila, you're done ))

I know this topic . But Samsung has new security on new Stock Firmware updates. All users have new updates said that .
Please explain it ,
I have downloaded old stock rom on sammobiles. But How to flash it ?
as a normal flashing ? without root ?
Sorry I am a beginnger user for this.
Dear friend,
Install USB Drivers or install Samsung Kies . kies will install the necessary drivers automatically.
1. First be sure USB Debugging is checked in ur device ( Settings/Developer Options/USB Debugging )
2. Extract the Odin file from the zip.
3. Open Odin3 (Run As Administrator).
4. Put your device in download mode. To do so, press Volume Down And Home And Power Button all together and when it vibrates release Power Button but keep others pressed. You should have a triangle with an android janitor while it's saying downloading ..VOL UP TO CONTINUE...
5. Now connect USB to PC ,you should see a blue rectangle with COM:xx and saying Added. It means that your device is ready to be flashed!
6. Go into the PDA section and select your .tar file.( stock ROM file)
7. Dont check any other option (F.reset time and Auto reboot are checked by default).
8. Now click Start.
9. When it's finished, it should say that "Res OK" or "PASS"in Odin.
10. Now the phone will restart and you will have the stock firmware as per your requirements.
You don't need root to flash ROM thru Odin.
If you want to root search for framaroot.apk in XDA .

First why i am writing this...this is for those who are planning to root their samsung note 5 ( SPECIALLY THE BEGINNERS ) who are in delimma of various problems that arise from rooting their device improperly. This is generally for the owners of samsung note 5 duos who want to root their device ( mine is samsung note 5 SM N920C Duos) and install twrp and custom rom.I have faced a lot of my problem from bootlooping my device to settings not working to dual sims not working etc etc and so decided to help those who are like me because i dont want them to suffer. So lets start.Be careful this is only for note 5 SM n 920 c duos only and specially if u want ur device to work with Jio Volte or Volte. Before starting go to settings and click about device. There u will find build number..Click it for 7 times to enable developer options. Now get back into settings and u will see a new option developer option in settings.Click on it and u will see OEM unlock..You need to enable it and also enable unknown sources.
Before starting u should get ready with these zip files before start.
1.Samsung Kies 3 zip 2.Odin flash tool zip( Odin is a tool used to flash Samsung firmware released by Samsung). 3.CF autoroot zip. 4.Twrp zip 5.Custom ROM zip 6.Custom kernel zip to work on ur galaxy note 5 duos
Samsung Kies 3
Here is the link www.samsung.com/in/support/usefulsoftware/KIES/
( download the zip file in ur computer & flash it on ur computer and connect ur device to see if it is recoginised. If yes proceed further otherwise restart ur computer & see if its recognised. If no,reinstall it)
While rooting, samsung kies should not be running in background..always remember this.
Odin flash tool (odin 3.10.7)
Link of odin zip- http://odin-download.soft112.com/
U can also download the latest version of odin tool also from odin site.
Download the zip file on ur computer and extract the zip files and run odin as a administrater.Once its open, power off your mobile and press voulme down button, power button and home button together till u see a triangle & then press voulme up button to enter into download mode. Now connect usb to ur mobile and connect other port with ur computer.Odin will detect ur device and u will see a message added with blue colour visible .Now you are ready to flash CF autoroot to root your mobile so proceed further. If you dont see added message, change the usb port where cable is connected to ur computer to other port in your computer or remove cable and restart ur computer and repeat procedure from beginning)
CF autoroot to root ur device
Link to download Cf autoroot for ur device- https://autoroot.chainfire.eu/
Find ur device from list and download zip on ur computer & extract it into a new folder .U can name it CF autoroot to remember.
Link to download Cf autoroot for Note 5 SM N920C - https://download.chainfire.eu/839/CF-Root/CF-Auto-Root/CF-Auto-Root-noblelte-nobleltejv-smn920c.zip
Link of how to flash cf autoroot- https://android.gadgethacks.com/how-to/android-basics-root-with-cf-auto-root-0167401/
Once ur phone reboots after root procedure u will see the SuperSu in ur mobile.wait patiently as ur mobile will take a few minutes to reboot.do not panic its normal.
TWRP Recovery-
Use Odin to flash TWRP recovery in same manner as u have installed cf autoroot.
Link to TWRP download- https://mega.nz/#!D0kFCLQS
Link how to install TWRPin ur rooted mobile- http://www.stechguide.com/install-twrp-recovery-on-samsung-galaxy-note-5/
I have shared the direct link to download Odin and TWRP so download directly from links so ur time will be saved.
Remember first to root and then download TWRP because for me it's most comfortable.Once u have installed custom recovery u can press volume up button, home button and power button simultaneously to get into recovery.Once u get into recovery go to backup and backup ur phone.
Custom ROM installment.
Since I needed volte to work on my phone and I wanted stock ROM which is debloated I downloaded karan's ROM ( Your ROM v3) which is very fluid, has better battery life than stock ROM and everything like stock ROM.I am really thankful to karan, Dr ketans and other members of XDA for their wonderful work.So this section is dedicated to those who wants to install this ROM in their Samsung note 5 duos but may be applicable to other Roms too.For flashing this ROM properly on ur note 5 duos u need these zip files.
Karan's ROM- https://mega.nz/#!q18HTKRY!xU46z8HeN08g3QCwBhl2kDA3l7png-30BzhW_LEM_ag
Settings fix zip- https://mega.nz/#!OsNiRSjS!vsPsTYdDxd-295EuFK4G7typcgenfD8Bpq6UEIwAH6c
Dual SIM fix zip-U need to flash custom kernel googymax which worked for me.Here is the link-. https://mega.nz/#!W10VBCwK!FaE2MwX4lik4Zr9xuxfQ_g_7EU1_iGqO0m2KCKskbKs
You need to get into TWRP recovery and then get into wipe section and clear cache , delvike, data and system leaving internal storage and USB and once the wipe is finished hit back button and now click on install.I have downloaded my zip files into DCIM in my mobile which will help u remembering where u have stored ur zip files so I clicked DCIM where I found the downloaded zips and flashed them one by one. Flash all three one by one first Karen's v3 ROM, then googymax kernel then settings fix zip and after everything is finished clear cache and Dalvik and then reboot system. It will take several minutes so wait patiently .Samsung note 5 SM 920 c Duos may show with red kernel is not seandriod enforcing in top of screen but don't worry.Ur phone will reboot normally.
Once u have rebooted u can see everything working fine with great battery life.U can also flash 3 min battery zip and system UI as described in karan's thread by getting back into TWRP recovery and flashing zip files .They should be flashed only after ur phone has rebooted after installing ROM.
