Ok so my goal is to get my new vs985 12b to CM12 or something cooler. So first step I need to downgrade the phone in order to root. I've been trying to follow the instructions here http://www.androidrootz.com/2014/07/...iants.html?m=1 but I seem to be stuck at step 19.
Initially in the flash tool I used the LGVS985_20140620_LGFLASHv160.dll - but when I ran the flash tool it gave me a Device Model is different" "factory model check error" or something like that. So I had seen on LGs site that they distinguish between the vs985 and the lgvs985 and I saw here that they suggested using the LGUP_8974.dll insted which is supposedly "generic". I ran with that but got another error, I think something about there being a mismatch in version or something.
I went back to try and recreate and take a screenshot but now no matter which dll I use I get this download error:

Which dll download do I use? how do I get the flash tool working again? Using a Virtualbox W7 64 bit machine on LM 17 64bit host.

use the instructions in the return to stock thread in the general forum. you shouldnt be downloading anything with the flash tool. you download the file separately.
if you are getting a version mismatch, which is very odd since you bought the device new, use the generic dll. this really shouldnt be happening though. on a new device, that hasnt been flashed with another carriers firmware, the correct dll should work.
I believe I am following the instructions closely. Please see what happens, I recorded this screen record. What am I doing wrong?

So my dad wants me to downgrade his Z Ultra (model C6833) back to JB because he finds JB's browser better, and because of other stuff...
I had a GS3 and I now own a N5. I rooted before, flashed, even unbricked a couple of devices. That being said, I'm not pro so I'd like for you guys to help me downgrade his version to JB without me ruining anything.
I would like to make a full backup of everything, things such as IMEI and other stuff that would rescue me incase something would go wrong.
Thanks in advance
Before you start to read further. Copy everything you have on that device to a folder on your computer.
Everything that is stored on the phone will be lost!
Now first off. Read this guide how to use flashtool
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2428319
Read this guide how to downgrade
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2593918
and do the first guide: "Downgrade path 1 (very easy):"
Downgrade path 1 (very easy):
Download needed files
Download C6833_14.1.B.1.532_NUT.ftf
Flashing using flashtool
Flash EVERYTHING in the above ftf by @[NUT]
Reboot
Flash EVERYTHING in this ftf, (use the defaults) it will do the downgrade below so you will end up on .532 with a working IMEI ready to root with bin4ry's tool
http://forum.xda-developers.com/devd...ct/dl/?id=3442
You will end up with a device that thinks it is a C6833 but when you flash 4.3 or newer (.290 or .136) just use the one for your real model and the model number will be restored.

Some issues that might occur:
Driver signature verification failure
If you are using Windows 8 or later there will be some issues with installing flashtool when you are installing the S1 driver and fastboot driver because you need to reboot Windows 8 in debugging mode and turn of driver signature verification to be able to install those drivers.
If you are using Windows 7 or older then you are fine. There will be no issues to install flashtool with S1 driver and fastboot driver
Read this guide on how to disable driver signature verification in Windows 8 or later

after you have downgraded (using the guides above) you can then upgrade from 4.2.2 to 4.3 using one of the FTFs in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2453921
If I remember right 290 or 136 will be the best option.
You have to downgrade with the above guide or you will lose the imei no (it can be got back so is not too much of an issue but a pain)
LGV30 cant be unlocked,No problem with the computer driver

:crying:
hi, i know "... No problem with the computer driver..."
But please try on other computer and also with other fastboot.exe file or install other adb/fastboot drivers again.
( you mark " OEM unlock " option in developer menu ? )
Which phone? Which version of software are you on?
Try another computer without the lg drivers installed.

1) You don't say which variant you have. H930, US998, etc.
2) You don't say what FIRMWARE you are using. If Oreo, what version: 20D, 20F, etc. The most recent versions have the bootloader unlock exploit patched, but usually gives you a different error message. Still we need to know what software version you are on.
3) If you've read the WTF guide, I include several trouble shooting tips. That link takes you to a standalone post where I repeated them, but they're also in the guide itself. Please report back when you've tried those?
4) Why open a new thread when you can ask the same question in WTF bootloader/root thread -- the thread dedicated to what you are trying to do? If that's what you're using, and not using official LG bootloader unlock code? Even if you are using official LG bootloader unlock code (which I did with one of my US998 V30), the trouble shooting tips still help.
Here's why I'm saying that. THAT EXACT SAME PROBLEM you have has been reported several times IN THAT THREAD -- and in each case was fixed. Go to the WTF thread and search for the words: target report. You'll see others who had the same problem and in each case was resolved. SEARCH is often the answer, or maybe going through the trouble shooting tips first.
I have to reinstall LG mobile drivers twice a week, so I laugh when you say no problem with the computer driver.
I just helped someone who insisted it wasn't his computer. Guess what? It was his computer. Actually the drivers with the computer... He tried two other computers, but the wonky LG/Windows drivers finally worked on an older Dell, he said.
i have the same problem but with my LG-US998, i already downgrade to android nuggat and then upgrade to android oreo, and i cant unlock the bootloader

Read my post just above yours for the answer.
Specifically point #2 --You don't say which US998 Oreo you are on (it matters for bootloader unlock).
Point #3 -- You also don't say which of the dozen Trouble Shooting tips from the WTF thread you tried. Hint, try all of them.
Point #4 -- Also you don't say why you posted here, instead of the WTF thread where the instructions are. I asked that question of the original poster when I gave him help.
So, I guess you didn't read any of the answers provided?
Hi Guys,
So i have a LG G4 h735. I rooted it successfully with Kingroot. I followed a guide i found online as to which bloatware i could remove. I did so and after the reset it just boots to the LG log with " SECURITY ERROR" [authentication fail #9]

Now im not a noob to all this. So downloaded the stock rom (H73520b_00_0617.kdz).
I used LGup (variuos versions of it), even tried using Uppercut with it. It will not recognise the device, says it is unknown.
I have also tried LG flash Tool 2014. i tried types 3GQCT and CDMA. Phonemode Diag. Put Phone in download mode. i tried Normal flash and CSE flash. It gives me "required info cannot be found" after it say extracting.
I tried other verions of LG flash Tool, I changed the port to 41, i extracted the necessary .DLL , it picks up the phone and i tied flashing the .KD, also tried flashing the .KDZ file. gives me "Failed PrreviousLoad()"
Please guys this is my sisters phone, and we are going into Nationwide Lockdown as of tommorow because of the CoronaVirus. So she really needs it.[/IMG]

Edit : Whats the best site to upload images for this forum?
I'm trying to run LG Flash Tool on windows 10 64bit. For some reason, whenever i run it, a message appears saying 'Cannot run this program'.
I have placed the Megalink.dll in the executably folder but still it's now working. I also tried to install the LGUP software but that shows me a small screen asking me for my callphone version (which is an LG Stylus 2 ... LG-K520DY) but the screen itself isn't populated.
How on earth to I flash an LG phone if there are no available tools then?
Thanks
@Bobdomtom
LG Flash Tool perfectly works on Windows 10 HOME 64-bit

Why are you so impatient? Remember this forum isn't a 24/7 service you've paid for!
I've uploaded LG Flash Tool to my cloud. You can download it from there.

I realize that, but someone above has given half an answer which has prompted more questions. I'm asking if anyone else has this issue and if they fixed it? I'm afraid these posts get lost in the mud if they are not picked up so somethimes they need a bump while it's fresh in the minds of those who've read it.
thanks, it works!

Thank your file works and I can now open LG Flash tool. Out of the myriad of links I downloaded this tool from, I'm baffled why I couldn't get this to run on my laptop before.
HI Guys,
Apologies for commenting on an old thread but I'm trying to get same LG Flash Tool working on my Win1064bit device. Managed to install it but upon running it, it's asking me for a username/password is that correct?

Hoping someone can help, no idea why this is happening. I have a US Unlocked G8X (G850QM). I simply want to upgrade to Android 12.
OTA portion of Android shows no update.
LG Bridge shows G850QM then downloads Android 12. Update starts then errors out at 0% "Your phone cannot update"

From there I installed LGUP and downloaded kdz from LG-Firmwares. That gives me the error saying I can't change models from T-Mo to Open.
The device works on T-Mo's network so I'm assuming it is an actual G850QM, but I may be wrong. Has anyone experienced this? I don't want to change models, I simply want the update. I have no idea if the seller could have done funny business and sold me am "unlocked" version when in fact he flashed a T-Mobile one.
Don't know much about LG devices, this is my first one.
Help, I'm going crazy!
I fixed this issue, starting at this post on the thread [Tutorial] Crossflash, Bypass OPID Mismatched Error
Really weird, no idea why it happened, but model was unlocked, then ended up using QFIL to back up partitions and wipe the device. Flashed unlocked Android 12 kdz, which got it to work but wiped the serial and change the device to G850UM.
Restored the FTM partition to return the serial number which also changed the model number back to G850QM.
My device is now upgraded to Android 12 with everything in order. Visit that link and read through the posts if you're in the same situation or want to upgrade like I did.

Is your fingerprint working? , I'm on TMO_US aswell, cross flashed to OPEN_CA, but sadly my fingerprint doesn;t work anymore, bootloader is locked.
