nano-SIM stuck in the tray - Moto E Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello.
I just bought the Moto E as a backup phone, but I was unaware that it has Micro-SIM slots. I expected it to be Nano-SIM, so I immediately put my Nano-SIM in the tray. Now I can't get it out. Anybody have ideas? Thanks.
EDIT: nevermind, lots of wiggling with a flat head screwdriver got it. Let this be a lesson to y'all: always check what type of SIM the phone you plan on purchasing supports.

I dont know about network regulation. But yes, you can cut your sim into micro-sim with special tool.. It's work for me after I cut my sim.
Yes, cutting a mini SIM down to micro SIM size works fine. You can get specialised cutters if you don't want to do it yourself.

Hi, look at this Link. It works fine
xxx.micro-sim.de/selbst-basteln
When I bought my phone, the woman on the store didn't had micro sim (would take weeks to arrive), so she said she could cut one of the regulars into a micro sim.
Well, she done a very bad cutting. When she inserted it on the Razr, it got stuck, it wouldn't get out, nor the razr recognize it.
I got my phone replaced anyways on that time.
After like 15 minutes all the vendors on the store trying to unstuck it, a guy finally used a needle to pinch it and he could take it out.
I was then looking at the regular SIM stock from that store, I noticed that some are a bit more thick than others and that plus the bad cutting didn't work well with the Razr slot.
I preferred to use my iphone's microSIM on the Razr, and transfer the lines, and use the cut down sim on the iphone, because its slot is more difficult to stuck.
Well, anyway, just beware that it you miss cut it, it can get stuck.
And if it does, you can get a needle, and pinch it to remove it.
Good luck!
thanks guys for ur help
Oh note that I've cut identically two simcards, one of them didn't work (was working in my old SGS2) after the cut. Into the SGS2 was still working even after the cut (hand positioning into the SIM slot, yay!).
So actually it isn't 100% sure that your SIM will work in the RAZR after the cut.
Anyway, for the other SIM that didn't work, I went into my operator's store and they've replaced it with a MicroSIM that I'm actually using in my RAZR.
Wouldn't be simpler to go to your provider and ask them to replace the sim? They can code your existing account to the new sim....
Mine was cut by my phone shop.. It works fine but o would not recommend it on a permanent basis.
From time to time I will get error messages sayingsomething like Sim card error.. After a while, less than a minute
It will b able to read just fine..
At first I don't bother with it, then came the time where the problem kicks in during a phone call.. The call was dropped.
so I would recommend everyone to get the micro Sim instead..
I will too, this weekend.. This drop calls is getting annoying.

Micro sim adapter

Switched from my rezound to a gnex to check out jellybean and see if it would fix my mobile data dropout issue, which it did. Now that new radios are out, I would like to try out the Rezound again. The gnex uses a micro sim, so I bought an adapter. But the Rezound won't see the sim. Does anyone else do this? And is there a trick?
Make sure the cut off corner in toward the bottom of the phone when you slide it in.

Test the sim in another mini-sim sized phone if you can. Sometimes the adapters have size issues and need to be played with a little before they fit properly and show the sim card

I figured it out before I read your post, but that was exactly it. Seems funny that the notch doesn't face in to me.

It is kind of a pot shot if you don't know which way it goes.
This sim adapter works great. Decent shipping time too, unlike the rest of the chinese crap.

For a free micro sim adapter, order a giffgaff sim below as it comes as a microsim inside a normal sim so you can either use the new sim or use it as a template to cut your old sim to size.

[Q] Sim card holder broken?

I have a cut down sim card that i use for my galaxy s3. The sim card holder accpeted the cut down sim and everything was fine. It would click out and in fine. Today after i flashed a new rom the mobile data kept dropping out. I thought it was my sim so i tried to click it out and it wouldnt come out. I seached ways to take it out online and finally used a thumb tack to slowly push it out in the little hole. Now the sim wont fit in the phone and everytime i shake my phone a ting sound comes from the sim card slot. I think it is broken. Where would i be able to fix it? Will warrenty cover that? thanks.

2. it is not a factory defect

Motorola DROID RAZR XT912 sim card slot broken.

I have a Motorola DROID RAZR XT912 which I was using with a sim card adapter but when I tried to remove it the sim adapter got stuck so I forced it out and think that something in that slot got bent now I can't insert a sim card in the slot. So what I want to know is that is there a way to repair the sim card slot? also if any one was in a similar situation like this one then please let me know if you were able to get it fixed. Thanks to everyone in advance.
I have this situation, and I am on PagePlus cellular, so it doesn't require me to have a SIM card, but I don't get 4G (I am on 3G right now), and it limits me from using Android Lollipop, as that requires you to have a SIM card to make calls/texts and use data. I don't know how to fix it though...

Every time I put in a sim card, it doesn't click in. I have tried with a T-Mobile SIM card that I cut, and that works (It clicks in place), but I don't want to risk messing it up, so I won't buy a full Verizon SIM card for the time being (I also don't want to mess up cutting it and cut it too large)

Well, I do have a backup phone (HTC Droid Incredible), but it is really slow and the voice quality sucks, so I am stuck with this for now.

Moto E extra SIM slot

Can someone tell me how to use the extra SIM card slot of the Moto E? I have a Sprint version and the manual didn't say anything about the extra SIM slot.
I heard that the Sprint Moto E can be used with International SIM. Do I need to do something to unlock it first?

There's only 1 SIM slot... The other slot is for MicroSD cards...
On my Sprint Moto E, there is 1 SIM slot and 1 MicroSD slot on the right and another empty SIM slot on the left. There are also various reports that the Moto E is a dual-SIM phone.
I have some sort of slot on thr left side to (verizon model) therebis some sort of plastic tab and sticker in there, anyone know what its for and whats in there?
edit pulled it out and its just a sticker with the phones info on a tab imei and model ect.
Maybe we could try, here's firmware (5.1.1) of xt1521:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=64097186&postcount=87
Although in my case it is a xt1524, but I've also seen the cover and remove a sheet in blocking any attempt to insert a SIM card appears.
Not if you could flash this firmware (6 files has sparsechunk) and firmware xt1524 only has 5 ....
in the verizon model there's a slot on the opposite side, it holds all the FCC information.. I also see where a second SIM slot *could* go, but it has a plastic tab over it (as if it weren't cut out)
The second SIM "slot" on the verizon model (XT1528) is on the same side as the SD card and the first SIM.
It is above the SD card slot and is covered with a plastic tab. The tab can be removed, but the "slot" is covered by part of the metal frame from what I can see.
I took out the plastic cover over the second Sim slot with a box knife. Can confirm there is a second slot on my verizon model but it is covered by a piece of metal. I don't want to go any further but any tinkerers on these forums can have a go at it.

I took the screen off, its held on by really loose adhesive. Second SIM slot has no SIM "reader", just a metal cover of sorts (I'll attach a pic). Too bad I don't have a small enough torx to take it apart more
Glad to see that someone went above and beyond to investigate the 2nd SIM slot. I guess the 2nd SIM slot is simply not populated for Verizon / Sprint phones. It makes no sense to put FCC ID or IMEI in the slot. I guess Moto is just trying to find some use for it.
To answer my other question, I inserted a non-US SIM in the slot of a Sprint Moto E and I was able to use it to send short code while in US (it says it is using T-Mobile's network). So I think the Sprint Moto E can be used oversea.
