Hello,
I am trying to install the soak update manually on my unrooted Moto E with stock recovery.
Downloaded Blur_Version.22.21.32.condor_retaildsds.retaildsdsall.en.03.zip file and kept it in SD card.
System update successfully detected the update.
Started extracting the package.
Asked a reboot.
System entered update mode.
System is being updated message came.
When it reached nearly 30%, the update failed and it restarted automatically.
After booting in to OS, "Update failed. No changes made" message came.
Can anyone kindly help what went wrong here?
Thanks in advance:good:

I found the problem. Now its lollipop 5.0.2 on my Moto E. Yeyyy! Previously I have rooted and unlocked the bootloader. But i was using Stock ROM.(Was using Gravity box for some tweeks.)
So, for lolipop update, I just unrooted and replaced the stock recovery. It detected the update. But while installing the update it failed.
Finally I found the solution. Eventhough you have Stock ROM Since you rooted, Stock recovery will think it is a third party ROM(Unsigned). So you have to replace your Stock ROM also for this soak update.
If anyone need clariffication reply to this post. I will help you further.
Soak update for Moto E is very simple.

Dude, Its very simple. You have rooted and unlocked your bootloader. Or using any other ROM not Stock? Then there are some steps you need to follow.
If you haven't done any of the above steps, do this.
1.Connect your Moto E to PC.
2.Copy this download update file "Blur_Version.22.21.32.condor_retaildsds.retaildsdsall.en.03.zip" to SD card directly.(Not inside any folder)
Or
3.You can use ES explorer in your Mobile to copy this file directly to SD card.
4.Update these in play store "Motorola Contexual services" and "Motorola Update services".
5.Goto settings->about->check for updates.
6.You are not good to go further. Click "Yes I'm in".
Still if you face any issue, feel free to conatct me by replying to this post.
Regards,
Satham Hussain

I purchased a second hand XT910 installed AVG and it informed me my phone is rooted.
Now I know nothing about rooting, nor the benefits/drawbacks, however I'm being given the option to install the downloaded JB update but it keeps failing, I've worked out the reason is because it's rooted, how do I go about installing the update, or unrooting the phone so it will do it itself?
Appreciate any help provided.

There are some files called sbf... Google your version and download it. Then download the official drivers for your phone from Motorola and last thing you need is rsd lite what is also available on moto's website. You can also google for a tutorial there are many on YouTube...

when the install fails it will state what the error is if its a file it will give the md5 and sha-1 (basically a load of numbers and letters.
if you could put those and the file path someone maybe able to give you the file's you need to get the update to run.
what they mean by sbf files are these http://sbf.droid-developers.org/umts_spyder/list.php these you can flash to your phone with a program RSD lite which when done will put the phone to stock, meaning to its original state and without root. then you can set the phone up how you like and can update to jelly bean.
it all sounds really hard but its not really i did it myself not knowing a thing before.

Help!!
Please someone help me i have now locked the fastboot unable to boot into the phone or recovery and need to flash the recovery file please sumone help me !!
Same problem with sprint
I am getting the same problem with my sprint htc one max. I tried several times to download it and it would get to about the point and would stop and the image would turn red and stop. I then switched to s-off, was on s-on unlocked to see if I could get it that way and I couldn't I then found the leaked OTA mirror online and tried downloading that and installing it. I then booted into recovery and tried to install it and it failed again but there was a message that " file_getprop: failed to stat "/system/build.prop": No such file or directory" I'm assuming this needs to be put on for it to work, but I don't know how to do that...
Does anyone else know how to do this?

i had kitkat vodafone uk 2 days ago.
had same problem.
in the end, i restored my pure stock unrooted rom, wipe dat/factory reset, put t6ul recovery back on and lockeded bootloader
updated fine thn.
you need to remove all trace of the root for it to work. 3 hours of me messing about trying everything proved this method to work.

Are you sure the drivers are installed correctly? Did you update to KitKat using the flash tool? (if so then the drivers are correctly installed). If not, and you updated over KitKat, chances are that you have not installed the drivers correctly which is the hard part. See this post here for correct driver installation http://forum.xda-developers.com/lenovo-p780/development/lenovo-p780-guide-t2658144

i downloaded the update file from this link " http://studioscue.com/lenovo-p780-8g...n-and-rooting/ " and it was a rar file when extracted i got a zip file and i copied that file to phone and switched off the phone and went to recovery mode by pressing powerkey, vol up and vol down. the file automatically installed.i actually downloaded drivers from lenovo website for p780 and installed it in my pc, i even connected my phone and checked for driver update, the message displayed drivers up to date.
I downloaded the driver file and installed. now my phone is getting detected but i get this error in the flash tool.
PMT Mismatch
I have had this problem before, on another phone Bird V1277 see attached screenshot you need a modified scatter file or try and download file again could be corrupted?
I tried with three different scatter files but its not working i get this error in sp flash tool
"pmt changed for the rom it must be downloaded"
what might be the problem

Vroot doesn't give lasting root. After a day or two the root fails. Kingroot wont work and root genius isn't so genius with this ROM. Has anyone gotten lasting root on the newest KK ROM? I have rooted three times. Right now I'm using SuperSU but it is not full root. TB won't work and Mobile Uncle Tools doesn't work fully also. Is there no newer recovery that will work better? I've tried the newest TWRP and the older CWM both won't give full root. I wouldn't ask but I've been looking myself for a long while already. I've even contacted the guy who writes the 4EXT recovery. Maybe he will make us a recovery. I like 4EXT.
What is the difference between the kitkat update variations s220,s221,s214
my phone has s214 and i cant install twrp in it

I have to ask you something: what rom do you have now? What rom did you have ? Did you flash Jelly Bean rom over KitKat?
If you flashed custom rom made for Jelly Bean (4.2.2) over KitKat(4.4.2), that is why your phone does not seen your SD Card.
Example: You have S220, S222, S224, S226 and you flash over it MIUI you have this kind problems!
To repair you must reflash your stock rom again !

i don't know for sure but probably not. I have had the phone for two years now and the bootloader was never locked previously
I wish I had that link about an hour ago, but figured out how to use the SamFirm Tool posted in another thread. Happy Flashing everyone
Also. First boot is taking ages
I'm so excited! AH. I need to get Odin now -.-
How does everyone like it so far?
Also, does anyone know if it would be a good idea for me to flash back to the stock Lollipop rom and then flash the update via Odin? I'm on a custom rom right now and I don't know if that will mess things up.
I was rooted on FOL1, flashed the marshmallow update via odin. Make sure you factory reset to set the binary status as offical, because I'm having booting issues

Have you been able to Root? Please share your experience. Can't wait really!
I'm still waiting on the update to boot.
Hmmm, after rebooting and upgrading the "google Play Services" app, Google play finds an update for Samsung Voice Recorder which won't update and crashes with an error code 505. Will try and mess with the permissions for that app.
Decided to flash the stock rooted rom and update via Kies. As of right now it is optimizing app 105/273
Update: It rebooted after optimizing the last app and now its been hanging out at the T-Mobile screen for the last four or so minutes
Update 2: FINALLY got it to boot :3 I ended up flashing the image again through Odin~
Update 3: Rooted (followed this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmo...sm-g900t-firmware-t3358190/page4#post66995024)
Yay~ Marshmallows
Edit: It looks like some people are having trouble with this update so I'm going to give a quick rundown of what I did and how I got everything to go smoothly. Now I'm not saying this is the correct way to things because most likely it isn't, but this is is just what I did that worked (for me, hopefully for you too).
Step 1. I flashed the stock rooted rom on my phone and unrooted it (not sure if this part is necessary) and then connected it to Kies to let it update that way (I was too lazy to mess with Odin tbh).
Step 2. After realizing I had been stuck on the T-Mobile splash screen for about 20 minutes to long I downloaded the image from the Mega link provided on this thread. Booted the phone into download mode, flashed via Odin, phone booted properly in no time.
Step 3. Installed Custom Recovery and Rooted the phone following the method in the link posted above.
MARSHMALLOW PARTY~
So I installed via Odin and as I was going through the initial setup it asks about WiFi and I turn it on and it keeps turning itself off after a few seconds.
UPDATE: Rebooted and was able to get WiFi to stay on.

What root options should we be trying? CF Auto Root?
I installed this over the top of Lollipop using Odin. all my data carried over and everything seems to be running just fine. Installed TWRP and SuperSU, roots working just fine as well.
Only issue I'm coming across is an update to the Samsung voice recorder in the Play Store keeps failing with error 505.
