I have used BaRin in the past with no overheating issues even when playing games or watching videos. When I installed stock lollipop I noticed the volume buttons/power buttons along with the top of the screen getting really hot when playing games or watching videos. I figured maybe its stock files so I installed BarPop and still overheating. Is this something with lollipop or will it go away with time? I did a clean install of all roms and I barley have any applications on my phone.
Thanks for any suggestions!
Sounds like a phone issue to me. I've ran all those roms, never had heat issues.

Try this app it is free just put it in root mode: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.oasisfeng.greenify
If you are on kk then use it with xposed.
Pretty much it sound like to me you have a ton of apps running in the background on they are using a lot of ram/cpu what that app does is stops apps funning at all. They aill only run when you open them. I had the same problem but used that and now its all good.

Does the menu appear sluggish to you guys when watching videos on youtube or the stock video player? It doesn't pop up smoothly like when you press the menu button on the phone in other apps. I'm running senseless 1.1. Thanks for any insight into this.

interesting .. i haven't had this issue but i've also only been on the stock rom. i know on previous android devices, streaming video is generally one of the more intensive tasks performed on the phone. if there are any bandwidth issues it could cause studdering/sluggishness. the best way to limit the possibility of a bandwidth bottleneck would be to test it over wifi.
another possibility is the ROM and i'm not familiar with the senseless rom. perhaps in that specific rom's thread, you could pose the question and see if others on that specific rom experience the issue as there might be a bug or some overlooked tweak causing it.
best of luck and hope the issue gets resolved!
I've run into a problem a couple of times with the YouTube app where you play a video and then close/switch to something else and the video keeps playing.
Checked with Advanced Task Killer and killed Youtube and all other apps, but the video sound keeps going.
Turned off the nook using the power button, screen closes but the sound from the video keeps going even when screen is asleep.
I checked services and shutdown all apps, and the sound from the video is still playing.
Its really odd. Only way to get the Nook to stop playing the video sound was to reboot the nook. Any ideas? Using latest cherry picks.
Thanks.
If you used titanium backup to install it, uninstall it. Download from the play store to install. I had the same problem, but this fixed it. Let me know if it worked for you

Will try and post back.
I have had this happen as well and it seems to be repeatable. At least for me. If the NT has been freshly booted I don't have any issues. If it has been up and running for several days and a lot of use it seems like a slow memory leak causing things to run slower and slower ultimately resulting in failure to properly close apps.
Sent from my CM 10 SD nook tablet. Thanks devs.
haven't had the issue crop up yet since reinstalling youtube from the store. Will know in a few days as the nook runs for a few more days for memory leak.
Hi,
when playing music on Jelly Bean on my Evo 3D there seem to occur random "lags", at which no music is playing. These lags are shorter than a second, but still very annoying. A few seconds there is music without problem, then these quirks, then music again... Any idea what I could do to fix or work around this?
Thanks,
exic
This appears both with and without headphones fwiw.
does it happen while screen is off? and on every player?
Had the same issue, I guess its over taxing the evo's ram or CPU, so I just purchased a new moto x as my USB port also was playing games, makes the evo feel old

Yes, it happens when screen is off. Tried Mortplayer and the pre-installed Apollo, both had this issue. I found out that enabling airplane mode at least mitigates the problem.
Might be CPU, I enabled dev options and then CPU usage. Load was quite high when it appeared, however I wasn't able to detect a definite correlation. I guess android is supposed to get its priorities right, so that the active process gets all the resources it needs.
Incredibly annoying and happens here too.

I've been having a problem since I got my LG G Stylo from Boost. When watching videos and listening to music using any app capable of doing so, the video or music will pause itself randomly and after a bit it will start playing again or it will play after I manually un-pause it. I'm not sure what's causing it. I know some newer and more expensive phones have features that will pause video if the phone detects that you aren't looking at it but these features usually apply to video, not music and even at that my phone doesn't seem to have that feature as I cannot locate a setting control for it. This happens in any app that can play video including videos played in Chrome and it happens in any app that is capable of music playback, which the only two I have are the native music app and Google Play Music. I've read on the internet that it could be caused by another app on my phone but I don't have any apps capable of doing this. I've also read that this can happen when switching networks but my phone is on WiFi most of the time and only switches to 4G when leaving the house which isn't that often. I don't see any reason why this would be happening. I've never had this problem with any other phone and I don't really have any apps on this phone that I didn't have on my last phone. Note that this is my first phone running Lollipop (5.1.1) and I'm starting to think that Android itself is the culprit but I'm not sure. I recently rooted my phone but the problem existed before that and I had the phone for over a month before I attempted root. This is really annoying and I'd like to be able to fix it so anything helps, thanks.
yeah
Resolved the issue. It was Telegram 3.5.1 that caused the problem. I'm on 3.6.1 Now and the issue has gone.

Hello, since yesterday my honor7 started to play music, videos, and also streaming videos/music slighlty faster than normal, let's say it is x1.2.
I can notice this also looking at the timing bar in player, seconds flow faster than real seconds.
Last days I was playing a bit with Tasker doing some batches for GPS and location, but i think this cant be the cause. Nonsense.
I searched a lot around the web and found lot of people having this kind of problem, but not exactly this one, they found their device playing a lot faster (i.e. 2x, 3x, chipmunkie style). So i couldn't find any solution for now.
I am on b170, unlocked, twrp, rooted.
Any help is really appreciated!
Thanks!
uninstalled CPU Tuner (old legacy app no more supported) and looks to be fine again.
