I installed Alice Project v 7.5 recently.
And i am seeing a strange thing on my status bar .. attached are the two screenshot where i see two new squares next to the network signal...
hope to get more info about it ..

hey guys,
just moved over to the htc one from the nexus 4 and loving it so far - so much better. BUT few gripes I was hoping to get some help on. is there any way to change the status bar icons? What I liked about nexus 4's status bar:
- changes color based on connection. e.g. if bluetooth is on it's grey, if bluetooth is connected its blue
- same with wifi / 3g - grey if connecting, blue if connected
- only one icon for signal and connection (hspa / 3g). htc one shows two icons - one for signal strength one for up/down/connectoin type. I don't need so much info.
any help much appreciated?

The roms based on the US developer edition solve alot of those issues ...look around for the rooted Developer Edition

Sounds like you want to get back on AOSP. Look in the Original Development section - there are a few AOSP builds. I'm not sure where they are on working out the kinks though.
I would check out Xposed framework for the One. There Ida nice application made for the One that can assist with some of these requests.
Also inside the At&t HTC One dev section there are mods to remove the Att network icons and give you the international look and accuracy.

sorry if this is the wrong place but for life of me i cannot find anything about my problem when i flash custom roms likr dirty unicorn and all the new ones the screen overlaps the status bar with the battery and time half displays on the top of the screen and the other half on the bottom can any help or point me it the right directions

Some more info if i flash stock 5.1.1 or any other android 5 there is no issue but any other android 6 or 7 rom i have the screen position issue .
i have tried at least 5 diffident roms
it seems like the screen position is slightly too far up
is there any way for me to change the screen position?
i have sort of got it to work by changing the resolution slight it does correct the overlapping but then i sit with a small space of unused screen on the bottom .
ok so if i take a screen shot it shows perfect so first pic is a screen shot but second pic is what im actually seeing

I have the same problem
I have exact same problem. Not only on CFW (Ressurection Remix N v5.8.3 20170525) but also in Recovery -> TWRP (3.0 and on two 3.0.2).
My phone: Xperia Z Ultra C6833, Unlocked bootloader
UPDATE, I have checked the lcd panel. I bought my Xperia and I have "somc,novatek_default_panel", so this is the problem...

Wow i thought i was the only one with this issue but seems not ... so you say its the panel ? by panel do you mean the lcd screen ?
was the screen replaced with a generic one ?
I have replaced my lcd screen as well so if that is the case this is not good
I really hope some one can help us out here ???
you can use an app to edit the resolutions a bit the screen does not overlap any more but you do loose a small space on the top and bottom of the screen .

I have done a lot of research and it is problem with screen recognising. Roms that works great are the one which recognise screen as default novatek. In all of those with screen overlapping hardware is recognised as renesas sharp. This is main problem. I think that if we change definition of screen in kernel arch/arm/boot/dsi-panel-togari.dtsi it will run as it should.
Similar problem experienced z3 users. And it was kernel related bug. They had problem with screen flickering. After patching kernel it started to work. I know that nailyk - xda senior member fixed that problem. screen was recognised in cmd or video mode and I do not remember now which was correct and which was not.
Let's all stay in contact maybe we will fix this at our own or someone will help us
About screen - i do not now if it is aftermarket one or not, I have bought used Xperia Z Ultra because I have always wanted to build my own rom. Right now I'm trying to compile lineageOS for togari but it is not as that easy, but I will definetly make it!
PS. and for editing display settings you do not need any app. You can do it with ADB commands:
adb shell wm overlay
adb shell wm density
but as you have said you can show all top status bar - but the touch screen will be working a little bit lower and you can do nothing with the bottom one.

Today I (very briefly) spotted a new icon in my status bar.
It looked like a little person icon (head and shoulder, silhouette kind of thing) with sound waves on the right (like WiFi signal but horizontal).
It was only there for a second so I wasn't able to get a screenshot but will definitely try if i see it again.
I haven't come across this icon in the 8 or so years that I've been using android and I can't think of any obvious app that it would be for.
I haven't installed any apps in the last week or so either.
If it helps, I was on my Galaxy Note 9 on Oreo (8.1.0 / Samsung Experience 9.5), it is rooted (Magisk) and has Xposed installed.
Any help identifying this icon is greatly appreciated and I'll update if I manage to get a screenshot.

Judging by the caveats on how terrible the new Android R UI is, it looks like this one went under the radar on many places, so, that brings us here.
The context:-
> Imagine playing an intense match of any gaming title (say Call of Duty : Mobile or Genshin Impact, Human : Fall Flat or Among us) or watching any YouTube Video or streaming Netflix on Android R. Android Framework triggers it's immersive mode on when such activity is triggered and hides both Status Bar and the Navigation Bar when in-game.
The issue:-
> It is pretty common to get notifications when we are busy minding our own business. However, when we swipe down to preview that notification heads-up, or draw the notification shade just to see who texted you, with a probability of 0.7 (7 times in every ten times we draw this), the status bar stays there and doesn't retract at all!
> This issue has been disturbing people with OCD a lot, and it also obstructs the top-view in any app that we are in.
The solution:-
> Force-closing and reopening the app seems to do the job for now.
I managed to reproduce this bug on some Android 11 custom ROMs on the Pocophone F1, but there wasn't any fix proposed yet!
This issue seems to be prevailing in stock ROMs of the Pixel Device line-up too!

Yes this bug is very annoying ,a11 is full of bugs and we need nav bar auto hide on a11 like a10 on lockscreen
Hello, i have previously flashed RR v 8.6.9. I must say that it felt great having a custom ROM instead of MIUI, providing a new feel. But since i flashed my custom ROM, there is this blue android icon on the top left corner on my notification bar that's been bothering me. Does anyone know what that is? Is it a good thing or a bad thing to have that? I have attached a pic for reference.
My bad, i just realised that it was a logo setting turned on. Anyway, problem solved.
