Fingerprint sensor broken? - Samsung Galaxy Alpha

Hi,
I am still under stock, no root, no warranty void (first time I am lucky that CM is still under development).
When I want to start the fingerprint manager I get the error that I should reboot as there was a problem.
Hard reset led me to the same screen without any modifications from stock software.
Clear error for warranty I assume or any suggestions and experiences?
Best and thank,
Blubberor

flash of camera doesn't work

Hi everybody,
The camera flash of my new Samsung S3 haven't worked since the first day I've got my new phone. Factory reset didn't help The phone is in repair now, but I 'm wondering - did anyone have the same problem, or it's only my bad luck.
Thanks!
I don't think that many people have that problem, when I got my crapy arc last year,I didn't have any vibration, had to send it in

Yep, I guess, you're right. I hoped to get some information regarding the repair - how complicated it is, how long it can take...

Yes, I'm sure
Try a flashlight App from the market then you'll know if it's just cam software related.
You're the first one I've heard of who has a broken LED light, so it's not a common issue.
However even with the most rigorous quality control, when building several millions of a device there are a few bound to be broken upon shipping or have loose connections.

Wierd touch screen problem

Hi guys, my st15i has a strange problem with its touch screen, it is working but the problem is in notification bar , in the matter of fact, upper stripe of my smultron is not responding, this happened few times i think when phone is in my pocket and i am working out or sweating this problem persists, but now it is not working at all . I really do not know what is this problem touch screen is working well but upper strip of touch screen is dead. Please help , give me any suggestions i still have warranty but i rooted my phone so i do not know will they accept warranty .
I had something similar to yours . My display would skip the touches when I touch it in a particular part (just below the centre of the display) but it only happens with the stock Sony firmwares. Sony is infamous for these buggy firmwares. If you still have warranty and your Bootloader is untouched you can repair your phone's firmware using seus and take it to the Sony service. And don't worry about the rooting thing, once you repair using seus you will lose root and the phone's firmware will be brand new. I think there is no way that the service centre guys can find out about you rooting the phone once you repair it using seus.
Press thanks if I helped you!

Yes it helped very much, but the problem is that my butloader is unlocked , is there a way of relocking it somehow ?

Ya you can relock the bootloader. Just reflash your stock firmware and relock the bootloader. this might help.

[Q] Sudden battery drain in 2-3 hrs and wifi not scanning

Hi Guys! I am using Samsung Galaxy S2 I9100G INDIA model. After more than one year of use suddenly it started working weird.
1. Full 100% charging getting discharged to 0% in 2-3 hrs(99% phone is put on standby mode - not using for anything)
2. When I enable WiFi it is not able to scan. I repeatedly clicked on scan but it is not showing any progress of scanning and not listing my home WiFi network
I have tried:
1. Battery recalibration - no use
2. Factory reset - no use
3. Hard reset - no use
Can somebody help me with this? Is there a way to check that WiFi chip failed or not Or it's an issue with firmware(4.1.2)?

How can we change baseband? You mean by flashing a custom ROM? Please guide me....
I went to service center to know about the issue. He was just re-installed stock ROM by rooting the device even not hearing to my problem. When I say WIFI scanning is not working he turned on WiFi and was saying it's working. But I told him to let the phone scan for any WiFi hotspots close by(My friend phone SIII able to list all available hotspots). He then pressed scan and was saying motherboard was gone. Is that true? How can he say blindly even not checking until I tell him to check the WiFi.
If I need to change the motherboard how much does it costs in INDIA? and does it carries any warranty?

firstly, you should be rooted to change the baseband.
If you are rooted that find any compatible baseband of your rom version and flash the zip file through recovery.
As far as the motherboard is concerned, it is costly affair. Before coming to the conclusion of motherboard being damaged, lets first try all possible options. I don't see the motherboard issue here.
PM me your rom details and i will find a baseband for you.

No, I am planning to go for samsung service center and get the motherboard replaced. When I called them they confirmed that motherboard will carry 3 months warranty. So, I thought it's better to go for warranty piece.

My advise wud be to see some local repair shop as it might be a loose connection and would not need the replacement. No harm in getting it checked as he will not ask more than 200-300 rs. If still u find it did not work go for motherboard replacement from samsung.
Btw how much did they asked you for motherboard

I think if you are confident enough to do the modifications you should do it, what can happen is a soft brick which can be fixed with Odin. Hardware bricks are rare. Though you should decide for yourself, the only thing I'm telling you is that there's no point to wait as long as you want to do it and you know what you're doing. If you need help you can ask me anytime

I have affraid of problems on hardware, like screen or touch that doesn't work or motherboard burned (sudden death problems for example)
Sudden death shouldn't be a problem with newer firmwares, but other hardware issues are relatively rare, so I'd go ahead my phone stayed stock for approximately 6 - 7 hours.

And your phone never had a problem with hardware?
No never. I had a SanDisk SD card fail on me, but that was replaced under warranty but nothing Samsung related.
But it's your warranty so bear in mind that they may reject any claim, although in the UK the fact that you've modified software does not give them the right to decline a hardware claim.

I don't think you should be that afraid of doing it. The chance of a fail is very low and the sudden death syndrome has been fixed long time ago. If you really want it, give it a shot... Personally I've never had any hardware related problems while flashing ROMs
And also the European buyer protection law is on your side

Then don't do it, although I went custom route from day 1 I was using stock based roms until recently, this is the first Android device I actually felt comfortable using stock even if it was a little flabby.
Stick a launcher on and look around here there is a lot you can do without even rooting your device, there really is no hurry to do anything.

when u are ready to root and flash custom rom, flash a custom recovery like cwm too. NANDROID BACK UP straight away after flashing custom recovery. The cyanogenmod installer is safe to use. I have personally used it and it was smooth. Back up ur efs too. If u dun know wat is efs, go read on it. Good luck rooting and flashing. It is safe unless u dun follow instructions or read carefully.

Something is messy here

I recently bought Samsung galaxy quattro for a friend and i noticed that in settings its written 4.1.2 in about phone which i claim is not.
1) First you can't expand notification via single finger, you need to use 2 finger.
2) Memory leak issue.
I think its 4.1.1
What's your thoughts guys?

Strange. Samsung doesn't have reasons to modify build.prop. Your friend could use Odin to reflash stock ROM, it might solve these problems
