Fuzz/crap on screen around edge of case - Nexus 6 Accessories

My biggest gripe about using a case is the build-up of fuzzy things or other particles on the screen around the front edge of the case. I feel like I am constantly wiping it off, blowing it off, or taking the case off and wiping it down and putting it back in the case.
Anyone have any tips for preventing this crap? It's super annoying.

I use compressed air duster to blast them out a few times a week.

Take off your case when you charge the phone at night

Evo 3d otterbox commuter case concerns

I have a question about this case. I found it for $12 on amazon and I think it's worth it and I think it will work great. However, I have some concerns about the screen protector and how messy/clean it is and how easy it is to apply. Also im worried about if it glares a lot because that would be a problem to me. My other concern though is I saw in some video reviews that the top of the case it doesn't 'hug' it firmly there and is kinda loose at that spot. Is this an issue or should it be fine?
Thanks
The screen protector scratches relatively easily, but that isn't a huge problem, and it doesn't glare. The protector is also the exact size of the screen, so if you get it a millimeter off, you'll have an ugly white line with grime underneath. The protector is applied dryly and needs to be applied very quickly or else dust particles will quickly attach to it. It's also kind of tricky getting it on, as the instructions aren't the best. If you don't get it on right the first time, it's a real pain. I resolved this by washing the protector and using a lint roller to get the dust off before reapplying.
The case itself is great and looks nice, and it's protected my phone from a launch onto hardwood from about 4 feet. As you said, the case doesn't hug the phone properly at the top and bottom. The amount of "hug" will vary from case to case, mine is right on there (still floppy though) but my brother's case has a massive gap. I heard they fixed it with a more recent design though. One of my biggest gripes is that the silicon is a dust/lint magnet, and there's always dust/lint getting into the top/bottom gaps. This is really unsightly and I need to clean the dust regularly as it bothers me, and do a full case clean every week. I also don't dig the hard plastic as I have dry skin, which makes it difficult to hold.
yeah that would be a deal breaker for me.. I had a silicone case for my previous phone and I actually didn't use it because I needed to freely move my fingers off and on the edges (fruit ninja lol). Tho I don't play that game anymore really. My other concern is will the top of the phone when your putting it into your pocket have like a 'drag' effect due to the silicone and it not being tight on the top or does it cleanly go in/out of the pocket when its rubbing against your pocket? That was also kinda an issue to me as well with my old phone. Also what other cases would you recommend (can be another otterbox)? I might be looking for another case if I don't determine this one suiting me.
I have this case. I chose not to use the screen protector so I cant comment on that. The case is great. The rubber piece that protects the mirco usb charger is annoying as hell (not sure why i havent cut it off yet.) The phone does seem to slide towards the bottom sometimes so there can be a small gap at the top. I would recomend this case. especially at $12

[Q] Best way to clean the outside of your i9100?

Hello,
I noticed that after a few months of using my Galaxy S 2 with a rubber case it gets really dirty on the surface, specially the parts that are in contact with the rubber case.
Some of the dirt comes from dust and I guess humidity of the environment letting the back case of the cell phone a some kind of greasy spots. I tried to clean the battery cover with some water with soap and so the bottom part that is attached to the cell phone itself where is the speaker (always being careful of not getting into the speaker) but it appears that the spots doesn't want to disappear.
Is there any good tips about cleaning the case of the cell phone? like to take off those greasy spots that left behind the use of a rubber case?
Thanks for the answers B)
Normally I just use a cleaning cloth for glasses and wipe the phone with it, without any water/soap, works just fine and squeky clean most of the time.
Yeah I tried that.. but for the screen is ok, the problem is with the rest of the cell phone.. As it has spend to much time with the Rubber Case on it got a lot of greasy spots that cannot be clean off with just the cleaning cloth...
Is like if it is kind of sticky glue or something that got attached to the back of the case from the Rubber protector

Someone without guards?

Like the title of the topic....there is someone that is using s7 without any sort of screen protector and case? How is the durability?Tnx a lot
I have not used a screen guard since launch day, I haven't had any issues with scratching and I just keep it in my pocket.
No screen protector here either, just tpu case. After 2 weeks no visible scratches. S7 is impossible to use without case cuz its so slippery.
No screenprotector here.. no scratches. probably been 2weeks since I got this phone

I've been using a wallet case, and I originally had the glass screen protectors but they all had their problems so now I'm using mine with no screen protector. The screen looks mint, but that could be since the my case usually covers the glass when it's in my pocket.
No protector, no case... All looking fine still. Usually I do without both, most of the time that works fine (until dropping my S6 that is). The screenprotectors I used were most of the time tempered glass, they feel great to the touch and always nice just in case when selling your phone.
Been using the phone for a week, waiting for my screen protector to come in.
I can already see about 5 micro scratches on my screen. They're not visible in normal light but in direct sunlight, you can kind of see them.
The real test is if someone uses with specks of sand on their thumb how bad the micro scratches get and how bad that makes it in direct sunlight.
I'm a roofer and I use my S7 heavily throughout the day. My hands are constantly covered in dirt, sawdust, sand, tar, fiberglass and small chunks of metal. My pockets get filled with any form of foreign debris that can be found around your standard industrial construction site. I have my phone in a hybrid case but have not had a screen protector on it since day one. My screen is near mint and I have to scrub it clean easily a few times a day. Here are some photos in various conditions. My Tab S seems to not be getting the pic quality I'd like but you'll get the idea in the reflection pics. I can not find a single minor or major scratch in any light, at any angle.

Hopefully that means they've got a tougher formulation for the oleophobic coating because that was always the weak part of tempered glass.

Standing Clear View case causing scratches?

Ive heard some complaints of people saying that the Standing Clear View cover is causing scratches on the screen in the corner area where the circle on the lid of the cover is. Is there anyone here that has experienced this? Also, could you post pictures of the scratches?
If you've used the cover for some time, and DONT have scratches from the circle, I would love to hear from you too.
For how long have you used the cover? Do you keep your phone with other stuff in your pockets/purse/whatever? Are you happy with it?
Yep just noticed them recently. They appear as a cluster of horizontal light scratches in the area of the magnet. Took it to Samsung store and the first thing they ask is am I pressing down on the magnet...
I've used the clear view cover since I got the phone 3 months ago. No scratches on the phone's screen, but the outside of the cover has a couple scratches now.
Usually have the phone in my (relatively clean) pocket.
I guess it's something to look out for if you're near sand or such like, but it isn't a problem on normal days.
Yes - scratches where the disc touches the screen. It's possible that around the disc dirt got in and I didnt notice. I do clean off the screen and the slightly rubberised inside daily but I still noticed scratches. Also the rubber coating on the inner left side (the bit with the disc) is starting to come off on the screen. A few times every day I have to clean the screen of this coating in the 4 corners.
I've had the case on since day one. nearly a year now. Very annoyed that a £50 case has done this.

How is your Fold holding up?

Figured I'd start a thread to see how everyone was fairing with their Fold. I'm taking it on a month test run while I travel overseas in Japan and so far it's been a mixed bag. Coming from a Note10+, I greatly appreciate the larger unfolded screen. However, I know this is a device you need to baby, unlike that Note10+. Of course I'm using the case that came with it and I have even bought a microfiber soft pouch to keep it in while it's in my pocket, to ensure that dirt, debris, and pocket lint stay out of it. That being said, there are already numerous scratches on the internal screen. I know it's a soft plastic and to be expected but I'd hope I could last at least one month with out any. At least you can't see the scratches when the screen is on. Keeping the screen clean of finger prints has also been a struggle and I feel my cleaning it has attributed to a scratch or two. Overall, my feelings towards the Fold are one of enjoyment but I feel that I should have stuck with my Note10+ for this trip as it is more durable.
The hinge on my first Fold started to become loose. I thought it was the factory case sliding around, but it was the device itself. The hinge had enough give when the fold was closed, that it caused the soft plastic edge to rub. Super annoying. The replacement was rock solid for about a week, but now I'm starting to notice a little creaking as well.

Thankfully my hinge is still solid, but that's disappointing given their publicity of how sturdy the hinge is supposed to be.
I've had mine over a month now and have no scratches. I was using the aramid fibre case until last week when I bought a Spigen thin case. That has a ridge around the camera bump so that it offers a little more protection to the camera lenses when you put it down, but other than that offers about the same protection.
I don't have any scratches on the inner display, and I just put it in my pocket as normal, but I do tend to blow the screen when I open it before I use it to remove any dust and debris so that my finger doesn't drag particles around. That's probably habit from all of the plastic screened smartphones before everything went glass.
One thing on cleaning cloths though, when people say microfiber, there are the fkuffynines, and the smooth ones, use the latter, it's harder for particles to stick to the cloth. The fluffy kinds trap dust and dirt and turn in to sandpaper pretty quickly. Never use that kind on plastics even if they feel softer.
As for the hinge, yes, they will all have a little bit of play in them after several days of use. Samsung have said this is normal. A hinge with a little play in it will last longer on something that is being opened and closed a lot.
