Hello friends
I need to find important information about the Xperia Z2 D6502!
D6502 not support LTE! But other models are support.
1--Does LTE support software or hardware?
2--D6503 ROMS (23.0.1.A.3.9,France - Orange - etc. OR 23.0.1.A.0.167,Canada/USA,France,Germany etc. ) upload to D6502??? Is this happens?
3--And does LTE work?
OR
LTE support is not work. Let's say D6503 is working ROMs on D6502.
4--An advantage or good changes on d6502???If everything would be the same?
LAST
5--When installing this ROM on FlashTool,Is there a possibility of deleting IMEI?
6--And OTA update income ?
7--Can we, when we want to install the original version d6502 (To avoid problems with warranty service)
Very Thanks. English'm less. gtranslate
backup your original rom and after that try to flash d6503 roms to your d6502. I think the rom should work but 4g will not work. and this can't change the imei. I think that the only difference is the 4g. I have a d6503 so I can't try it but good luck

thanks. for rom backup
ı dont have root! Can I do any other way? or back up my data and download the d6502 mena ftf.flashing and upload data?
For rooting you need to downgrade to 4.4.2 and than root using toolkit, than you can backup your TA partition just in case you want to unlock your bootloader later and lose your DRM keys. D6503 ROM can be flash in D6502 but the network functions like calling and texting wont work, you need to flash D6502 modem for that, most of the ROMs will already have that as a separate flashable ZIP, search in the respective ROM thread. After flashing the ROM you might get update notification but you wont be able to install them as many of the system files will be modified so for getting official update you will need to flash back stock FTF with flashtool which will remove all your data, and if you had unlocked you bootloader you will have restore you DRM keys also after flashing stock ftf. for backing up data without root try helium app. works for me.

No, no prblm, just follow the method given in the forum thread, flash only the ftf for your model and not any other, bootloader wont be affected by flashtool until you intentionally unlock it.

Depends on what ROM you want to flash, there are different ones available in the forum, some AOSP or CM based which will require unlocked BL, or stock bases, like existenz or Moonwalker which are stock based and dont require unlocked BL. but i would suggest you hold on for now as there are some news about Lollipop being release in next few weeks and you will need to flash stock ROM again for updating to Lollipop. or you can later wait for someone to make a lollipop ROM later and get done with the rooting process now itself. also to download ftfs i would suggest use xperifirm and create the ftf using flashtool, you might not find your specific regions ftf through flashtool, but i'm not entirely sure about that, you can try either.
Also please press thanks button if i helped

first backup your data (you know how to do it?) and then backup your rom with this method:
3. how to backup your original firmware customization
a) if you do not want to lose warranty of your phone, first thing you have to do is to backup your original customization
b) download Sony PC Companion and connect your phone
c) select update your phone in Sony PC Companion
d) application will prompt you to disconnect your phone before starting downloading firmware, just make it (remember - dont disconnect your phone when update just start...)
e) after finish downloading firmware cancel the update
F) after that, go to C:\ProgramData\Sony Mobile\Update Engine\db\some number\blob_fs, there you find 3 (maybe 4) files, which names start FILE
g) download and install latest Flashtool
h) paste the three files, which names start FILE, from blob_fs folder to folder „Firmware“ included in the XPERIA Flashtool
i) open the Flashtool, click on Tools, then click on Bundles, choose decrypt files and put all three files from blob_fs folder to the right columm
j) click ok and after approx. one minute a pop up Window will appear via Flashtool
k) mark all files except simlock.ta and transfer them to the right column, than fill in a box in the right upper corner (fill in what you want, it is just for you)
l) now click ok and Flashtool will create backup of your original firmware customization, that you can anytime flash to your phone
(I copied this from a website)

These are flashable zip file and FTF pairs for the latest KitKat firmware 14.3.A.0.681 for C6833/C6806/C6802 based on [NUT]'s modifications. I couldn't wait for his firmware so decided to make it .
The upgrade instructions are exactly the same as in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2631768 . You only need to use the flashable zip and FTF files in this thread instead. In a nutshell:
Install recovery (either via a root exploit or unlocking the bootloader). Note: unlocking the bootloader will typically result in data loss, you are advised to use the root exploit on the older firmware instead of touching the bootloader.
Enter recovery and flash Sony Xperia Z Ultra Europe LTE_14.3.A.0.681_flashable.zip
Power off the device and enter flash mode
Flash Sony Xperia Z Ultra Europe LTE_14.3.A.0.681_Stripped.ftf using FlashTool (0.9.15.0 or later, older versions won't work)
These instructions are relatively safe and you can always downgrade using the other flashable zip/FTF if you so wish.
Lots of credits go to NUT & co. for making the original flashable zip!.
Notes:
- Some people run into a bug that makes camera non-functional. If you have this bug you can try flashing zip/stripped FTF from another region (e.g., US) instead.
- If you have issues remounting /system in TWRP you can try @[NUT]'s patch for the recovery here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=51378028&postcount=88 . It can be flashed after you flash the flashable zip with adb sideload recoverypatch.zip inside the package on Linux or running install.bat on Windows.

Thanks for the work; have you installed via this method yourself?
I ask as there are a couple of other requirements for this to work in Nuts Z1 thread on the same subject here -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2687443
Whereas you link to the 4.3 update without the init.d requirements?
Thanks
Yes, I'm running KitKat with the firmware that I posted.
I didn't need to enable init.d support and can confirm that dr.initd.active is set to false in my XZDR config. SuperSU works as well as the rest of the firmware.
Not to devalue the work that people have done (on the contrary it is much appreciated!), but there are a lot of conflicting information on how to root the device. I feel the rooting guides are much longer than necessary. Here is why (and how) we can root and keep the bootloader locked:
We root a firmware (e.g., 14.1.G.1.534) and install recovery
With recovery we can install the system tarball of any other firmware versions (e.g., KitKat). The flashable zip also installs SuperSU (among other) in the process.
We will then flash everything from the new KitKat firmware but system image. Stripping at least the system image out of the FTF ensures that it will not be reflashed by mistake.
Regarding init.d support, it is no longer needed on 4.3 onwards as daemonsu will be started by install-recovery.sh .

Weird, I'll check when I come back in an hour or so. If you want to make it work in the mean time, you just need to flash the Germany KK FTF instead of this FTF in the General forums and exclude system, userdata from the flash and especially uncheck all items in Wipe section. If you're unfamiliar with Flashtool it's better to wait.
Will this work with c6802 as well as c6806?
Unlocked bootloader.

I can produce the zip and FTF for these devices but I won't be able to test it. That said, if you have an unlocked bootloader wouldn't it be easier to just flash the dual recovery kernel and then supersu to gain root?. Being able to flash custom kernel is an advantage that us with locked bootloader can't enjoy .

I have redownloaded the FTF and compared the checksum, it doesn't appear corrupted to me so I think the problem is you're using FlashTool 0.9.13. Newer Sony firmwares work with 0.9.15.0.

If you flash the full FTF you will lose root unless you exclude 'system'. I'd suggest clearing the Camera app's data. Camera works fine for me. I just upgraded from 4.3 so mine has not been factory reset.
Edit: Are you storing the photos to the SD card by any chance?. I have applied the fix for SD card permissions so not sure if it is an issue or not.

power of and then flash stripped ftf via flashtool 0.9.15.0
reboot - restore TA - reboot
done.
now I got root with locked BL
thanks!

Can anyone else please confirm?. There are nothing specifics to my device in the FTF or the zip so I suspect flashing the full FTF won't fix it.
The binaries were generated from the Germany KK firmware if that helps.
@abuihsan: thanks for letting me know, the only difference between Z Ultra variants that I've seen is radio so the worst we'll get is losing LTE.
If anyone wants me to create the files for other variants then let me know.

Sony camera works fine for me.. Also autofocusing on 3rd party camera apps works.. I tested it with vsco and vignette camera.
The only problem I found is sd card writable problem (fixed with an apps from play store). The remaining problem is volume button. If I open an app, example a game then adjusting volume button makes those apps FC.
In setting, adjusting volume also makes setting FC. It happened on both Germany and HK .681.
Hope it can be fixed soon.

Adjusting volume in all apps work fine for me, guess it's just one of those weird Android bugs. If you can get the logcat (pressing volume up/down then FC) then I might have a look.

Hello.
I know that i am a newbee, but that's it.
So my device story is:
I upgraded it to Last 4.4.2.
I decided that i want to root it.
I search here a way to root it.
I read a lot of threads about it
I doungraded it to 523(somethink like that).
I rooted it with vroot.
I backed up my TA partition with a special program.
I unlocked bootloader.
I upgraded it to Last firmware(757)
I flashed a kernel with 2 recovery
I installed SU with from recovery(i precopied su.rar on sd card).
It's done.
Now my questions are:
1) if my Phone wasn't root, The program for TA shoud show me an error , or it look like it worked? On my device showed exactly like in hamdogg tutorial.
2) how can i check if my bootloader is locked or unlocked?
3) after i instal a costum rom, how can i come back to stock rom? Stock rom is in The hamdogg ftf file?
4) if rom isn't in The ftf file, where can i found it?
My device is c6833 and i started root actions ptwo weeks ago.
Ps: after i rooted with vroot, in my device i don't find a shield( app icon) like in hamdogg tutorial, but i find another one or two apps(i don't remind). Maybe it hapens because i used a New version of vroot and it has another icon.
Thanck you.

1/ not quite sure what you are asking here
2/ dial *#*#7378423#*#* and look in the service menu for the bootloader status
3/ Just flash a full FTF normally in the FTF thread in the dev section
vroot is evil - you should have read a little more and used either bin4ry's or [NUT]'s tools. but what's done is done.

Because i don't like to wait i use pc companion to upgrade my new z2 (sgp511) to android 4.4.4, there i notice that i lost root. Since i can't root android 4.4.4 i want to downgrade android, but first i have some question to ask.
1) Can i backup my drm key without root?
2) Do i erase them when i unlock the bootloader? (i know i loose every thing but since they are part of the system maybe i won't loose them)
Because if i don't lose them with the unlock, that would make my life easier.
Where i can find my the originals image of android? (although if i can unlock with out loosing the drm i won't need to downgrade)
Any advice that can help me will be apreciate
1) Nope
2) Yes
You have choices. Pc Companion, Flashtool or this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=54527942
So my options are loose my drm o wait that someone find an exploit?
Are the drm key important for what, i couldn't fiand enough information about them

You can downgrade to root able firmware, root it properly, install dual recovery and flash prerooted firmware via custom recovery. Drm keys might be important for some propiarty stuff working the way Sony think they should like camera, gallery etc.
if i don't care for the key, insted of downgrade the soft , i should install preroot firmware?

If you want to. With unlocked bootloader you are able to quite easily root it and do what ever you decide. Little warning though. Without TA backup your DRM keys are gone for good. There is no way to get them back and if you need your warranty there is high risk that it is gone too.
i know and i want too backup them but i don't know how t do it without root, which i can't have until i unlock my tablet i e circular problem

If you don't want to downgrade there is problem yes. Because we have root with locked bootloader I don't think there much activity to find new rooting method to latest firmware versions.
i have no problem with downgrading, but how can i do it without losing my drm?

Find rootable ftf file for your device for example this: https://mega.co.nz/#!kcxxjaLA!itErjRi2fYPPswal-c7XasF_lAvPKyY4GwEzY3xgHZ0 and just use Flashtool to install it. You don´t need to have root to do it and it don´t have any effect to your DRM keys.
Thanks for the good new, but first 2 more questions, i doesn't affect that the image is for another country? Can i use ota with this image?
PD: how is posible to flash an image without unlock?
PD2: What is the meaning of "Customized NCB"?

It doesn´t matter much which region firmware you install to SGP511 because it´s wifi only and only differencies are some bloatware. If you are going to root your device and then update with ota it may work or it may failed. Don´t think region matters here either if there is ota for that region. But, by all means use your regions ftf file.

There should be an esay way to revert to 17 for my country but i can't find my image only the last one. Thanks again if you have another advice plese fell free to pass it.
Pd: after ready some previous post, i was thnkins, may the following work?
1) i downgrade qith the image you pass me.
2) as you sugest i root and backup my drm key
3) i restore my stock image (23.0.1.a.4.30) with oc compaion or with the image from argentina in XperiFirm.

I was thinkin more like:
1) downgrade
2) root and install dual recovery
3) flash latest prerooted firmware
4) enjoy
No need to unlock bootloader or anything with kernel. If there isn´t prerooted firmware for your region in xda before and you need any help, please ask.
Ok so I just purchased a Verizon 4G LTE verison 16 GB model and want to to root and unlock bootloader (so I can put CM on it) and am on 4.4.2 build number 17.1.D.0.437. Im used to rooting Nexus devices where its a quick, simple process but this seems a bit more complicated. Considering I still may return this device, what tutorial/steps should I follow and will I be able to relock/unroot and return to stock if I do decide to return this? Thanks so much for any help that can be provided.
Search for easy root tool for experia, is a script for root, after that install from the play su. Back up Your drm a there you can can unlock safety. Of you don't care the drm key you can Just unlock from the page of aony

I like to revive this post with the next question, as i'm a little paranid and i like to complicate y life, i like to modigy a ftf a por the root files inside so i can flash with flashtool, but all the info i find show ways to flash using recovery.
So what i already do is:
i download the files with pc companion
decrypt and remake them to ftf with flashtool.
i tried PRFCreator ( but i creat a zip to flash with recovery)
So what i want to do is to make my own root ftf, so i can just flash that and i don't have to do anything else.
pd: i in no hurry, but i like to do it this way so i can learn for future updates (ex lolipop)
pd2: also i want to make al the steps so i can translate to my fellows argentinia users.

Sorry to tell you but if you meant that you want to make prerooted ftf file to flash via Flashtool it is not possible. To achieve root with updated Sony´s firmwares your need custom recovery installed or unlocked bootloader.
ok, with that i narrown my option to only one the ones descript before, but i have one doubt, why dual recovery?
1) I always use twrp, why dual?
2) will i lose ota update with dual?

1) Because it disable Sony ric.
2) Most likely.
After whole day trying, i can't flash MarshMallow and now system is keep reboot after show the logo,
perhaps i should had chose a Nexus 9.
I tried to restore with TWRP but it keep failing with 'Can't mount /system as read-write' like error message, I DO choose 'Swipe to Allow Modifications', seems i have to flash stock ROM.
Is there anywhere to download the stock ROM to reset it to default? or any other way to restore it?

Hi
Download flashtool http://www.flashtool.net/downloads.php. and xperifirm http://forum.xda-developers.com/cro...xperifirm-xperia-firmware-downloader-t2834142 . Search with xperifirm the correct Rom version. And correct location for your tablet.
Create a ftf file and flash it with flashtool. Search in this forum to find how to create a ftf file.
Reinstall androplus kernel v10, twrp and SuperSu
If you made a backup of the user data partition with twrp you can restore it (the restoration of the system partition does not work).

Thanks, since what i have flashed is just boot.img, recovery.img, system.img and userdata.img, is it possible to just flash these image back, i checked both linux and windows out to package a ftp, but looks it's a little complicated to make it.
I found a UK 'ftf' on xperiablog, can i use this for my HK version?

Create a FTF file is not complicated. With flashtool(Tools ->bundle->fileset decrypt)
I assume you have a SGP712.(wifi only) Because there is a Cutomized HK version 28.0.A.8.260 for the sgp771 with xperifirm
Am i correct ?
If you have the SGP712 you can try to flash the uk ftf you found via flashtool.
If you have the lte SGP771 i'm not sure your uk ftf file is compatible (because of the lte baseband) but you can try it

Hi,
I'm happy for you :good:
Will flashing unlock phone?
Hi all members of XDA-Dev
This is my first post. I hope Im posting in the right section and thread, if not sorry in advance and please point me in the right direction.
Im too wondering about a rom flash for my Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet (SGP771)
My situation is that the SIM function is locked to a certain telco and Im wondering if I flash this device using the factory rom that comes from Sony if it will "unlock" it.
Since Im new to this Im wondering it may not necessarily be "stock rom" ie stock android from Google, but the modified android rom that comes from Sony as, at this stage, I still want to explore all the offering Sony has that comes with this device. Or am I wrong to assume that after flashing stock android rom, installing the complete "stock" apps that comes factory with this device is a process that is without much fuss (my emphasis)?
I know I can pay a good sum to get this unlocked by the telco but Im also hoping that I can somehow find tools on this forum and do it myself of course with the generous help of fellow memebers.
My primary objective is to unlock this tablet so I can use it with another telco and if by flashing I can get it done or by some other means then please share your knowledge with this noob
Thanks

Hi,
I think you can unlock your tablet to use another provider with flashtool and xperifirm and flash a sony stock rom, you can give it a try
Thanks killdozer56 for your advice.
I wonder if any other network locked devices have been able to be unlocked by flashing?
Im really wanting to do this but Im a bit reluctant to test it if their arnt any confirmed circumstances where this works cos Im a noob and Im chicken.
And since Im really new and their arnt any confirmed successful attempts, I dont really want to be placed in a situation where if the experiment goes bad I have myself to blame because I bricked it at worst or at least cant restore it to factory default to try again or at least put the device in a state where the telco can unlock it for me. Am I being defeatist? So Glum.
Maybe I should do more hunting on this forum to get my SGP771 network unlocked.
Again thanks for your help.
Hello everyone.
This is my first post here - in hope to get help with my Sony Z5 Compact.
So a week ago I have updated to Nougat,by mistake tbh.
Unfortunately Im really not happy with the device. The volume is OK unless youd like to watch some videos on a website - you won't hear much.
Then, playing a matroska file is impossible - stutters, pauses, gives you 5 fps ( I'm not joking) - it was flawless on MM (305).
So my plan is to go back to MM and I believe I've read every step by step tutorial existing on the Internet but I still have some questions.
1. How do I backup firmware? Every tutorial says about a folder with firmware files that you can import to flashtool to make an ftf backup of your stock firmware. The folder does not exist on my PC.
I've tried "repairing" etc, still, it does not exist.
2. Why do I need a backup firmware ftf for warranty?
3. Where can I find an ftf file?
Xperifirm doesn't give me anything, there are lots of fake websites, xperiablog doesn't send me an approval email for my account.
4. Is there anyone in Lodz, Poland that could help me?
I'd love to downgrade.. The phone is unusable for my work and I can't afford a new one.
Thanks in advance.
Kindest regards.
Michelangelo
Suggest you download Customized SG firmware, the lastest marshmellow is still available for download. Grab it now.
Hello, welcome to xda.
First, please do not open 2 different threads for the same problem - it's against forum rules.
About your problem: which fw you are on? you could try newest nougat firmware .33 first because the problems you described should've been fixed in this. Also you could dirty flash it and won't lose anything.
However if you want to go back to MM anyway, i would recommend 5.11 fw because it's .305 with newer security patch.
Be aware, that if you go back to MM, you will have to make a clean flash.
You can find all 3 firmwares on xperifirm from different regions(also .305). For most regions there are two different available, so click through all firmwares and look on the right side which you can choose.
What do you mean xperifirm gave you nothing?
How to download via xperifirm, create a ftf and flash viaflashtool: https://forum.xda-developers.com/z5...-33-pushed-t3581352/post71662820#post71662820
yup every update sony become worse
the best one was the last 5.1.1 i think (or one b4)
the last 6MM was meh
the last nougat (.33) is far worse from all of them
probably i won't buy sony's anymore
( i was happy with my WT19 sony ericsson arc like(Legacy Xperia) the one of the reasons i bought this sony(also easy roms flash, you just need use flash tool for stock roms you dont even need root or BTunlocked)
anyway i'm usually replace my phone every 5 years in average (when the phone stop run smooth mid-low range .like waze, temple run 2,subway surfer. apps (z5 still mid-high)
so the phones got about 4 more years, at least how i see it.
As Gewiz suggested, if you're on .376 or .378 version of the Nougat firmware, then updating to 2.33 might just fix the problems you're describing.
This is the highly recommended solution, since you won't lose any of your data or settings, and you don't really have to do anything, just wait for the update to become available for your region via OTA or Xperia Companion.
If you insist on downgrading back to MM, then you must perform a clean flash using unofficial (non-Sony) tools, which means you will lose all of your data and settings. Therefore you should backup all your data before doing so.
Being on anything but the latest version means you will forever have a non-dismissible notification nagging you about upgrading to the newest version.
If you're fine with that, then download a MM ROM from XperiFirm, create a FTF from the bundle, then flash it to your phone using Flashtool.
I think you're confused by the numerous tutorials you've read about "backups" and "warranty". You've likely read guides teaching you how to root your phone, which involves making a backup of the TA partition of your phone to preserve the DRM keys that resides within. Rooting the Z5C requires unlocking the bootloader, a process that wipes the DRM keys and voids your warranty. So, guides are there to help people make a backup of the DRM keys, so that they will have the ability to restore the keys to the phone and return the phone to warranty-eligible state when they need warranty service or resell their phone.
Since you have made no mention of rooting your phone, I assume none of this matters to you, don't worry about it.
Thank you all for the replies.
I updated from 376 to 2.33 and the phone is even more pathetic. It's slow and sluggish even with stamina mode off and data transfer/WiFi off. The battery drain is even bigger, now the alarm volume is terrible ( although video volume in chrome browser is now better). Mind you, I always do a reset after updating the phone, so everything that could be done was done.
I'm after 305 since the 5.11 introduced heating an worse performance ( I don't believe it was just a security patch).
I've managed to download 305 firmware with Xperifirm but I've hit one obstacle - I cannot create an FTF file with flashtool as the Xperifirm download unpacks the " FILE" files to many separate files and folders after download.
Could anyone please tell me how should I go about it? I'm really desperate to downgrade this phone as it was perfect until the cursed update and I can afford a new one.
Thanks in advance, and again thanks for all the replies.

First: for nougat (7.0) you need flashtool in version v0.9.23.2
version 0.9.23.1 _cannot_ create ftfs out of what you downloaded with xperifirm
Second: here's a tutorial for FTFs:
http://www.xperiablog.net/2014/08/1...re-files-using-xperifirm-and-flashtool-guide/
Please note: in flashtool, you just have to click "Bundles\Create" (you don't need to decrypt, as this is done by xperifirm already)
Ok, guys I have one last question regarding this topic. Im sorry this took me so long but I don't have the Internet connection at home.
The "how to create an FTF file" tutorial says " exclude . Ta files" although the screen from it show only 2 files being excluded.
Some other tutorials either say the same or don't mention the .ta files.
So should I exclude all of them? Or should I leave "simlock. Ta" and "booter" in there?
Thanks again.
Michelangelo
Reflash firmware or make a factory reset. I am on .33 Nougat and rooted. Don't have any issues. Only have Greenify and battery life is good, performance is very good.
I also have flashed Zach's kernel, it makes a difference. However, these issues you have are not from this. Some people have reported such issues when upgrading from MM. If you don't want to unlock bootloader and root, make a factory reset or flash a whole .33 FTF in Flashtool. Also no, I haven't had these issues on .376 either.
I hope one of my tips helps you

Don't exclude anything, leave it as is
If you ask me, make a backup of all the stuff of your Internal Storage and wipe Userdata as well (unlocking the bootloader also does this, if you decide to do so).
