Where can i find the Stock ROM? - Xperia Z4 Tablet Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

After whole day trying, i can't flash MarshMallow and now system is keep reboot after show the logo,
perhaps i should had chose a Nexus 9.
I tried to restore with TWRP but it keep failing with 'Can't mount /system as read-write' like error message, I DO choose 'Swipe to Allow Modifications', seems i have to flash stock ROM.
Is there anywhere to download the stock ROM to reset it to default? or any other way to restore it?

Hi
Download flashtool http://www.flashtool.net/downloads.php. and xperifirm http://forum.xda-developers.com/cro...xperifirm-xperia-firmware-downloader-t2834142 . Search with xperifirm the correct Rom version. And correct location for your tablet.
Create a ftf file and flash it with flashtool. Search in this forum to find how to create a ftf file.
Reinstall androplus kernel v10, twrp and SuperSu
If you made a backup of the user data partition with twrp you can restore it (the restoration of the system partition does not work).

Thanks, since what i have flashed is just boot.img, recovery.img, system.img and userdata.img, is it possible to just flash these image back, i checked both linux and windows out to package a ftp, but looks it's a little complicated to make it.

I found a UK 'ftf' on xperiablog, can i use this for my HK version?

Create a FTF file is not complicated. With flashtool(Tools ->bundle->fileset decrypt)
I assume you have a SGP712.(wifi only) Because there is a Cutomized HK version 28.0.A.8.260 for the sgp771 with xperifirm
Am i correct ?
If you have the SGP712 you can try to flash the uk ftf you found via flashtool.
If you have the lte SGP771 i'm not sure your uk ftf file is compatible (because of the lte baseband) but you can try it

Hi,
I'm happy for you :good:

Will flashing unlock phone?
Hi all members of XDA-Dev
This is my first post. I hope Im posting in the right section and thread, if not sorry in advance and please point me in the right direction.
Im too wondering about a rom flash for my Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet (SGP771)
My situation is that the SIM function is locked to a certain telco and Im wondering if I flash this device using the factory rom that comes from Sony if it will "unlock" it.
Since Im new to this Im wondering it may not necessarily be "stock rom" ie stock android from Google, but the modified android rom that comes from Sony as, at this stage, I still want to explore all the offering Sony has that comes with this device. Or am I wrong to assume that after flashing stock android rom, installing the complete "stock" apps that comes factory with this device is a process that is without much fuss (my emphasis)?
I know I can pay a good sum to get this unlocked by the telco but Im also hoping that I can somehow find tools on this forum and do it myself of course with the generous help of fellow memebers.
My primary objective is to unlock this tablet so I can use it with another telco and if by flashing I can get it done or by some other means then please share your knowledge with this noob
Thanks

Hi,
I think you can unlock your tablet to use another provider with flashtool and xperifirm and flash a sony stock rom, you can give it a try

Thanks killdozer56 for your advice.
I wonder if any other network locked devices have been able to be unlocked by flashing?
Im really wanting to do this but Im a bit reluctant to test it if their arnt any confirmed circumstances where this works cos Im a noob and Im chicken.
And since Im really new and their arnt any confirmed successful attempts, I dont really want to be placed in a situation where if the experiment goes bad I have myself to blame because I bricked it at worst or at least cant restore it to factory default to try again or at least put the device in a state where the telco can unlock it for me. Am I being defeatist? So Glum.
Maybe I should do more hunting on this forum to get my SGP771 network unlocked.
Again thanks for your help.

south africa update Q?

hi guys.
i tried to update my LG Optimus one (p500) with pc suite iv and the lg tool but both say im up to date. im on firmware 10a...
now i want to go to 2.2.2 and it seems i cant via that method. i read the other methods by manully upgrading and down grading firmware. im on MTN network here and i heard that in order to update my firmware, my network needs to allow it. ok so in africa everything moves at a very slow speed... riding a elephant to work is very slow pace .
so what i want to know is if i do this manual firmware update will it cause me problems? and is the roms and kernels region based... in other words will it effect my simcard and network ect.?
im rooted with Z4root and i got thunberg recovery + back up.
on the backup... i cant do back up of the sd-ext ... i presume its because i have not done a partition of my sdcard... is this correct... all others are backed up.
i also cant seem to get onto my sdcard via this recovery. it picks up my device but not my sd card. so if something goes wrong i can get onto my sdcard via recovery... SCREWED
i got windows xp service pack 3 and mac probook. i have the lg mobile drivers installed on the xp system.
i hope that im clear on what i need. id really be great full if someone could help me..
anyone?

Dear i am really sorry to say that most of the things i am not able to understand. What i understood is
1) you want to change Rom (upgrade or downgrade).
2) Your SD card is not detecting in recovery.
What are the queries you have
3) GSM will work or not as you have heard it should be country specific.
Ok now here are the answer.
1) For downgrading the ROM, you can downgrade and upgrade any official ROM via KDZ updater. Here is the link. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=883314
2) It may be something went wrong. Just restart your phone and have factory reset it may be solve your problem.
3) Yes you have heard it right. But that is only for 2.3.3. In case of 2.2 we have globe release so you can downgrade it without having any GSM issue.
From next time be precise so that people can understand what is the exact problem you are facing. If you have any query you can ask. Members will defiantly help you out.

let me try again:
ok so this is my phone at the moment...
p500 stock firmware 10a
rooted with Z4root
my recovery: recovery-RA-thunderg-2.2.1-GNM
i have not partitioned my SDcard
using super manager and file expert as my explorer
have titanium backup and backed everything up.
what did i do so far:
i deleted all the useless app that come stock.
what do i want to do:
1: i want to try different roms and kernels
2: i want to make sure that my nandbackup is done correctly
3: i want to know if all the roms and kernels will work in my region (south africa) even though my service provider (MTN) has not allowed any updates. so can i install a 2.2.2 version rom and will still be able to use is in my country
my Q? :
1: do i need to update my firmware to 2.2.2 if the kernel or rom is based on that firmware 2.2.2( or what ever version). or does the roms come with that firmware and if i install that rom wil my firmware be at what ever version the rom is?
2: i backed up everything i could. but when i tried to backup my sd-ext it says "something went wrong, check log". so is this because i did not partition my SDcard yet?
on the SDcard not picking up... ONLY!!! when I'm in my recovery (recovery-RA-thunderg-2.2.1-GNM), when i select usb mode in my recovery then it enables it but my pc does not pick it up as mass storage, so i cant copy over any files while in recovery mode. what must i do?
3:can i install any roms even if MTN has not enabled firmware 2.2.2
sorry for the long post
hope im more clear now
1.no you dont have to upgrade or downgrade...just flash the rom of your choice..
2.flash a new recovery and try...
3.you can use any rom anywhere .....what has mtn got to do with the phones firmware...is yours a cdma phone??
hit the thanks button if i helped you

Good dear this time you are almost on trac.
1)first of all you can flash Mik 2.3.4 rom with Franco kernel v18 find it on rom dev section.
2) it doesn't matter most. You can have contact backup on gmail server and backup your sms from any sms backup apps.
3) mike and andy from will work.try those.
1) every rom comes with kernel (firmware). You can simply flash rom and you done. Like if you are flashing Mik rom just flash zip file from recovery and you are ready to roll
2. You can ship this part.
3. this is bit controversial. official rom will work but may be without GSM. But you can flash mike and andy rom. It will work 100%..

and how can i fix the fact that i cant get onto my SDcard when in recovery... must i use clock works instead?
are you saying i must not back up?
hehehe
Look, your operator has better things to do than implement FW version checking. GSM is a standard stuff, either the phone talks to BTS or does not.
try clockwork....your 3rd question is answered above

[Q] Please help, new to rooting & confused!

Hi all,
Firstly sorry, you must get this all the time and be really bored of helping but i would be so grateful if anyone out there can point me in the right direction.
Firstly my phone details;
Model - Xperia Z2 D6503
Firmware - 1278-4770_23.0.1.a.3.9
Network - EE
Rooting status;
Bootloader unlock allowed: No
I want to root my phone but after reading what seems like thousands of web pages im more than a little confused. Does anyone out there have a step by step guide for beginners?
I want to use cwm recovery but don't understand how to get that on the phone as most guides say use it to back up before doing anything else but it isn't there to start with!
Also will installing cwm wipe my phone and sd card?
Any help would be much appreciated and many thanks in advance.
You can only install nuts dual recovery on a locked bootloader, proper recovery is included in the kernel and the kernel can only be changed on an unlocked bootloader, there was a a guide to rooting in one of the forums and I assume towel root will work, just search the z2 forum you'll find it

Thanks for the response.
Is nuts recovery better or worse than cwm? Also i thought that towel root would not work with 4.4.4 at present?
Does the locked bootloader mean i cannot do certain things even after rooting my phone like install custom roms and kernals?
Many thanks

1) You cannot root the firmware you are on with a one click tool (like towelroot) at present. You have to downgrade to a lower firmware like 17.1.2.A.0.314 first and then root that, install a custom recovery and install a pre-rooted firmware package.
2) Your bootloader is hard locked by EE, this means that you will never be able to unlock it and install custom kernels nor custom ROM's what require custom kernels.
3) It is more than recommended to install [NUT]'s dual recovery, this installs PhilZ recovery (a more advanced CWM in my opinion), TWRP and CWM (to use CWM you have to install dual recovery manager from google play AFTER installing the dual recovery).
4) Now to downgrading, you will need to download a program called flashtool (this can be found in the Sony Cross Device development section) and the .314 ftf file (not .tft, ,ttf, .fft or any other variation people mis-spell it as). You will then need to install the drivers for your phone (these can be found in the flashtool drivers folder in the location you installed it, also if you have Windows 8 or 8.1 check my signature on how to disable driver enforcement before attempting to install the drivers.) There are plenty of guides on how to downgrade, there is even one in the firmware collection thread what can be found in the Z2 general section. Side note, when downgrading you will HAVE to wipe data and the cache (this can be selected when you are selecting the firmware to flash) or else you will end up with a phone what is in a bootloop.
5) After downgrading you will need to root, the easiest and simplest way to root would to be use the easy root toolkit (this can be found in the Sony Cross Device development section).
6) After rooting you will have to install [NUT]'s dual recovery (Sony Cross Device development section, you will need the installer file and not the flashable file).
7) After installing dual recovery you will need to flash a pre-rooted zip file of the latest update (Z2 Android Development section, I think the one by @niaboc79 is the best one to use). Alternatively you could install a custom ROM what is based on stock, it will tell you if it is.
If you need any more help, just tag me in the post (by using the @ symbol and then my user name) or PM me. Also, @Envious_Data is a great help in this device forum, helped me when I had a few queries about the phone before I got it and I have seen them help a load of people in the Q&A section.
@gamer649 Thank you for taking the time to help me, that has explained everything perfectly. I do however have a couple more questions i think you'll know about....
1 - Is there a back up app available that will do a similar back up to that of "apple". I mean reinstall all the apps i currently have and keep the home screen layouts and all data etc?
2 - In the link to the firmware downloads you gave me there is only 2 UK .314 ones and none of them are EE, shiuld i just use the unbranded one and what are the differences?
3 - The main reason i started looking into rooting was that i heard about a tweak to increase the volume of the z2 notifications by forcing it to use both speakers. Have you had any expierience with it and what other tweaks would you recomend?
Thanks again and i look forward to hearing from you again

1) You could try using the stock back up and restore app for that. Also, if you have your data backed up with your Google account it will start to reinstall all your apps along with their data once you sign in once you downgrade. @Envious_Data any other suggestions for a non-rooted device?
2) I always go for unbranded software, the reason being that there are no carrier apps nor carrier boot logos installed into the ROM and it is how Sony intended it to be. Apart from that I don't think there are any differences.
3) I don't usually have my phone on sound mode, it is either silent or vibrate so I can't help you with that one. You could take a look in the Z2 android development section to see what mods are available, some ROM's may also include this feature.

1. You can use root to copy all of your apps from /data/app and you can use flashtool to bulk install all of them
2. Branded firmwares occasionaly have some small changes for better reception on the selcted network but with 314 this doesnt actualy matter
3. Have a look around for some mods, and see if they are compatible with your current firmware version

Xperia Z2 D6502 Rom Questions?

Hello friends
I need to find important information about the Xperia Z2 D6502!
D6502 not support LTE! But other models are support.
1--Does LTE support software or hardware?
2--D6503 ROMS (23.0.1.A.3.9,France - Orange - etc. OR 23.0.1.A.0.167,Canada/USA,France,Germany etc. ) upload to D6502??? Is this happens?
3--And does LTE work?
OR
LTE support is not work. Let's say D6503 is working ROMs on D6502.
4--An advantage or good changes on d6502???If everything would be the same?
LAST
5--When installing this ROM on FlashTool,Is there a possibility of deleting IMEI?
6--And OTA update income ?
7--Can we, when we want to install the original version d6502 (To avoid problems with warranty service)
Very Thanks. English'm less. gtranslate
backup your original rom and after that try to flash d6503 roms to your d6502. I think the rom should work but 4g will not work. and this can't change the imei. I think that the only difference is the 4g. I have a d6503 so I can't try it but good luck

thanks. for rom backup
ı dont have root! Can I do any other way? or back up my data and download the d6502 mena ftf.flashing and upload data?
For rooting you need to downgrade to 4.4.2 and than root using toolkit, than you can backup your TA partition just in case you want to unlock your bootloader later and lose your DRM keys. D6503 ROM can be flash in D6502 but the network functions like calling and texting wont work, you need to flash D6502 modem for that, most of the ROMs will already have that as a separate flashable ZIP, search in the respective ROM thread. After flashing the ROM you might get update notification but you wont be able to install them as many of the system files will be modified so for getting official update you will need to flash back stock FTF with flashtool which will remove all your data, and if you had unlocked you bootloader you will have restore you DRM keys also after flashing stock ftf. for backing up data without root try helium app. works for me.

No, no prblm, just follow the method given in the forum thread, flash only the ftf for your model and not any other, bootloader wont be affected by flashtool until you intentionally unlock it.

Depends on what ROM you want to flash, there are different ones available in the forum, some AOSP or CM based which will require unlocked BL, or stock bases, like existenz or Moonwalker which are stock based and dont require unlocked BL. but i would suggest you hold on for now as there are some news about Lollipop being release in next few weeks and you will need to flash stock ROM again for updating to Lollipop. or you can later wait for someone to make a lollipop ROM later and get done with the rooting process now itself. also to download ftfs i would suggest use xperifirm and create the ftf using flashtool, you might not find your specific regions ftf through flashtool, but i'm not entirely sure about that, you can try either.
Also please press thanks button if i helped

first backup your data (you know how to do it?) and then backup your rom with this method:
3. how to backup your original firmware customization
a) if you do not want to lose warranty of your phone, first thing you have to do is to backup your original customization
b) download Sony PC Companion and connect your phone
c) select update your phone in Sony PC Companion
d) application will prompt you to disconnect your phone before starting downloading firmware, just make it (remember - dont disconnect your phone when update just start...)
e) after finish downloading firmware cancel the update
F) after that, go to C:\ProgramData\Sony Mobile\Update Engine\db\some number\blob_fs, there you find 3 (maybe 4) files, which names start FILE
g) download and install latest Flashtool
h) paste the three files, which names start FILE, from blob_fs folder to folder „Firmware“ included in the XPERIA Flashtool
i) open the Flashtool, click on Tools, then click on Bundles, choose decrypt files and put all three files from blob_fs folder to the right columm
j) click ok and after approx. one minute a pop up Window will appear via Flashtool
k) mark all files except simlock.ta and transfer them to the right column, than fill in a box in the right upper corner (fill in what you want, it is just for you)
l) now click ok and Flashtool will create backup of your original firmware customization, that you can anytime flash to your phone

[Q] Did I get a bargain or screwed over?

I'm in the UK and we have a place call Cash Converters, it's known for selling second hand goods.
I bought myself a Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet LTE 16gb in mint condition with all the accsessories and box.
I paid just under £150.
I was running Lollipop but for me personally the device was slow. I downgraded to KitKat and it's great, fast as hell. really impressed!
I'm not rooted and I'm on the latest KitKat before the Lollipop update.
I removed all the bloatware 1 by 1 and removed the Google apps I wasn't going to use.
I'll tell you now, it's reallly fast.
well to my question; Because I'm on the latest KitKat before Lollipop - is there a way I can root my device?
PS: I don't want to spam the forum so I'll ask here - what sort of battery life are XDA Members getting with their Z2 Tablet?
Lollipop is faster than Kitkat on this device.
Must have been something else than the firmware which slowed your device down.

Well, it depends on the version of KK. If it's 4.4.2 the root process is definitely easy by running the easy root (towel root) program. After that, the towel root author got hired by Sony, so, so much for getting any simple root processes.
As with 4.4.4, you can get root, but you'll need either to use;
a) Bootloader unlocked, and a modified Boot Image Ramdisk to get full System RW
b) Install Nutz dual recovery (easier with bootloader unlocked)
With LolliPop, I already had bootloader unlocked, so I installed the latest Dual Recovery by Nutz, and installed the latest pre-rooted LolliPop build.
One note on unlocking your bootloader if you decide to go that method. Back up your DRM keys first. Then if you ever decide to go back to stock, you can reflash them. Note it only works initially with 4.4.2 Builds if I'm not mistaken. To be honest, I have them backed up, but don't really notice them missing. Supposed t maybe do something with camera or video enhancements, but I can't tell the difference.
As with speed and battery, I can't tell the difference between the 2 versions. Benchmarks are about the same. Battery life is subjective depending on how you use the tab.

You can unlock your bootloader with any version. In the forums there is an app called Flashtool if I'm not mistaken that you can use to relock the bootloader.
Read this;
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2747676
Be aware it'll wipe your /Data partition so you'll need to re-install your downloaded apps. Maybe docs and photos as well.

Aha. Similar to mine. I wound up getting a Demo model (unknowingly). Had the same "no" for bootloader. I wound up flashing a different "Ftf" file using Flashtool. Put a different region Rom on it. Workedfor a couple of folks, unless you have one of the carrier brands like Verizon, ATT, Tesla, etc.
So try flashing a 4.4.2 FTF file from a different region. See if it installs an unlockable bootloader. It's worth shot.

Having issues copying the link, but go to the regular z2 forum, then the cross development forum. There is a thread for "xperiafirm". This is a Pc app that will download almost every version Ftf file for Sony devices. Find your device (511, 521, etc) and download a couple different region Ftf files.
Flash using Flashtool that I sent you a link to.

OK, so here's the scoop.
1. Don't flash any files from our forums (zip) files. They are for custom recoveries.
2. Use the experiafirm software to download specific ftf files for your device. I'm mobile now and can't paste a link. You can find the Pc app by going to the Z2 phone forum, then go to Sony cross development. There you find the ExperiaFirm Pc app. Install it to a Windows Pc (instructions are in the post). Select your device on the left (Z2 Tablet), select specific model, and you should get all available factory firmwares on the right.
3. Select a firmware to download to Pc. Pay attention to the carrier versions. You probably don't want these. By carrier, I mean phone companies like Orange, Tesla, Version, etc. These are devices that are sold by the phone providers and usually you can't unlock the bootloader.
You want just normal Ftf files, like Vk, Ru, Baltic, etc. Should be about 30 or so available for your device.

thanks for all your help but I've gave up.
the link you told me about, xperiafirm, I couldn't get the ftf files. NO matter what I done.
I messed my Z2 LTE Tablet up and it was in a boot loop.
I fixed it with PC Companion and left it at that.
I have a Sony Xperia M2 too that I couldn't unlock it's bootloader, I kept getting "failed - command not succeed" so I just give up.
I have literally done everything and I still can't do it.
all I want is to calibrate my battery on my Z2 LTE Tablet & Sony Xperia M2.
is there something else I can try?
I'm running stock on both of them (latest in the UK through Sony's PC Companion) and I've disabled all the crap Sony apps and Google apps.
they're both fast now.
ugh.

Wow! Sorry experiafirm wasn't working for you. When I get time I'll install it here. It was working fine before I left Moscow. Currently on extended trip to care for elderly parents in the states. In the original post it stated a couple thing for the Pc,like recent Microsoft.net for example. Generally you just select your device on the left, then hit. "check all" in the upper right. Double click a firmware and it should download (if I remember correctly)

yeah mate I tried that and it wasn't downloading any ftf files, I kept getting "file" formats and trying to flash them after creating with flashtool was a nightmare!
but thanks for your help, I appreciate it. I think I'm done though, I have charged my device all night and most of the day and both of them are sitting on 100% full.
so I'm happy.
I also found a way to calibrate my battery on both devices without root too. so all is good.

any chance you can help me? I'm trying again.
what firmware should I flash to try and get my bootloader unlocked?????
You have to bundle the files downloaded from XperiaFirm, into an FTF, you do this with Flashtool:
http://www.xperiablog.net/2014/08/1...re-files-using-xperifirm-and-flashtool-guide/
You can skip the parts about Decrypting, because XperiFirm does that for you.

Sony Z5 on Nougat, big hope to get back to MM. Issues, terrible performance.

Hello everyone.
This is my first post here - in hope to get help with my Sony Z5 Compact.
So a week ago I have updated to Nougat,by mistake tbh.
Unfortunately Im really not happy with the device. The volume is OK unless youd like to watch some videos on a website - you won't hear much.
Then, playing a matroska file is impossible - stutters, pauses, gives you 5 fps ( I'm not joking) - it was flawless on MM (305).
So my plan is to go back to MM and I believe I've read every step by step tutorial existing on the Internet but I still have some questions.
1. How do I backup firmware? Every tutorial says about a folder with firmware files that you can import to flashtool to make an ftf backup of your stock firmware. The folder does not exist on my PC.
I've tried "repairing" etc, still, it does not exist.
2. Why do I need a backup firmware ftf for warranty?
3. Where can I find an ftf file?
Xperifirm doesn't give me anything, there are lots of fake websites, xperiablog doesn't send me an approval email for my account.
4. Is there anyone in Lodz, Poland that could help me?
I'd love to downgrade.. The phone is unusable for my work and I can't afford a new one.
Thanks in advance.
Kindest regards.
Michelangelo
Suggest you download Customized SG firmware, the lastest marshmellow is still available for download. Grab it now.
Hello, welcome to xda.
First, please do not open 2 different threads for the same problem - it's against forum rules.
About your problem: which fw you are on? you could try newest nougat firmware .33 first because the problems you described should've been fixed in this. Also you could dirty flash it and won't lose anything.
However if you want to go back to MM anyway, i would recommend 5.11 fw because it's .305 with newer security patch.
Be aware, that if you go back to MM, you will have to make a clean flash.
You can find all 3 firmwares on xperifirm from different regions(also .305). For most regions there are two different available, so click through all firmwares and look on the right side which you can choose.
What do you mean xperifirm gave you nothing?
How to download via xperifirm, create a ftf and flash viaflashtool: https://forum.xda-developers.com/z5...-33-pushed-t3581352/post71662820#post71662820
yup every update sony become worse
the best one was the last 5.1.1 i think (or one b4)
the last 6MM was meh
the last nougat (.33) is far worse from all of them
probably i won't buy sony's anymore
( i was happy with my WT19 sony ericsson arc like(Legacy Xperia) the one of the reasons i bought this sony(also easy roms flash, you just need use flash tool for stock roms you dont even need root or BTunlocked)
anyway i'm usually replace my phone every 5 years in average (when the phone stop run smooth mid-low range .like waze, temple run 2,subway surfer. apps (z5 still mid-high)
so the phones got about 4 more years, at least how i see it.
As Gewiz suggested, if you're on .376 or .378 version of the Nougat firmware, then updating to 2.33 might just fix the problems you're describing.
This is the highly recommended solution, since you won't lose any of your data or settings, and you don't really have to do anything, just wait for the update to become available for your region via OTA or Xperia Companion.
If you insist on downgrading back to MM, then you must perform a clean flash using unofficial (non-Sony) tools, which means you will lose all of your data and settings. Therefore you should backup all your data before doing so.
Being on anything but the latest version means you will forever have a non-dismissible notification nagging you about upgrading to the newest version.
If you're fine with that, then download a MM ROM from XperiFirm, create a FTF from the bundle, then flash it to your phone using Flashtool.
I think you're confused by the numerous tutorials you've read about "backups" and "warranty". You've likely read guides teaching you how to root your phone, which involves making a backup of the TA partition of your phone to preserve the DRM keys that resides within. Rooting the Z5C requires unlocking the bootloader, a process that wipes the DRM keys and voids your warranty. So, guides are there to help people make a backup of the DRM keys, so that they will have the ability to restore the keys to the phone and return the phone to warranty-eligible state when they need warranty service or resell their phone.
Since you have made no mention of rooting your phone, I assume none of this matters to you, don't worry about it.
Thank you all for the replies.
I updated from 376 to 2.33 and the phone is even more pathetic. It's slow and sluggish even with stamina mode off and data transfer/WiFi off. The battery drain is even bigger, now the alarm volume is terrible ( although video volume in chrome browser is now better). Mind you, I always do a reset after updating the phone, so everything that could be done was done.
I'm after 305 since the 5.11 introduced heating an worse performance ( I don't believe it was just a security patch).
I've managed to download 305 firmware with Xperifirm but I've hit one obstacle - I cannot create an FTF file with flashtool as the Xperifirm download unpacks the " FILE" files to many separate files and folders after download.
Could anyone please tell me how should I go about it? I'm really desperate to downgrade this phone as it was perfect until the cursed update and I can afford a new one.
Thanks in advance, and again thanks for all the replies.

First: for nougat (7.0) you need flashtool in version v0.9.23.2
version 0.9.23.1 _cannot_ create ftfs out of what you downloaded with xperifirm
Second: here's a tutorial for FTFs:
http://www.xperiablog.net/2014/08/1...re-files-using-xperifirm-and-flashtool-guide/
Please note: in flashtool, you just have to click "Bundles\Create" (you don't need to decrypt, as this is done by xperifirm already)
Ok, guys I have one last question regarding this topic. Im sorry this took me so long but I don't have the Internet connection at home.
The "how to create an FTF file" tutorial says " exclude . Ta files" although the screen from it show only 2 files being excluded.
Some other tutorials either say the same or don't mention the .ta files.
So should I exclude all of them? Or should I leave "simlock. Ta" and "booter" in there?
Thanks again.
Michelangelo
Reflash firmware or make a factory reset. I am on .33 Nougat and rooted. Don't have any issues. Only have Greenify and battery life is good, performance is very good.
I also have flashed Zach's kernel, it makes a difference. However, these issues you have are not from this. Some people have reported such issues when upgrading from MM. If you don't want to unlock bootloader and root, make a factory reset or flash a whole .33 FTF in Flashtool. Also no, I haven't had these issues on .376 either.
I hope one of my tips helps you

If you ask me, make a backup of all the stuff of your Internal Storage and wipe Userdata as well (unlocking the bootloader also does this, if you decide to do so).
