Hi everyone
I tried searching but its seems not much talk about kernel manager...so i found this market there link https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.asso.kernelmgr&rdid=com.asso.kernelmgr&rdot=1
its real? its working fine for this samsung AT&T Sgh i777??? with cyanogen mod 7 i guess (its android 2.3.7 for now)
I dont want mess it for mistake, but i would like to listen someone opinion about it.
Even because trying to search manual kernel im still noob and i dont understand at all which is compatible and where is new kernel update release....so this confuse me
Maybe with this manager kernel automatic should help me quite easy instead searching all site so hard.

Hi all.
Sorry, I don't know if my thread is in the right place.,
I have a soft-bricked phone, stuck in Odin mode, because I flashed a S7390 Rom on my S7390G device. I wanted to re-stock my phone, and no S7390G can be found on the internet,( and I found none with a working phone to extract and upload this rom.)
Here is my question: I read on the internet some articles saying that some people unbricked their soft-bricked phone with a Linux for phone distro, replacing their android OS. Since I don't have a compatible rom for my device, do you think I can install Linux on this phone? Where can I donwload it? Is there a simple process (I'm a beginner and my English is far from being perfect)
Thanks for your help guys! We really need it! :good:
Hey everyone. Firstly, thanks in advance for the help. I am pretty new to the android Development world.. I have a kdlinks a200 android media center box I have been playing with and I managed to get the source for the telechips tcc8930st board it uses. Problem is, kdlinks customized the kernel and such to utilize the built in lcd screen and who knows what else. I have dump of the Zimage from the kdlinks boot.img but I want to try and figure out what settings they used for the kernel. Is there a way to do this without the kdlinks source? Right now it's just trial and error. I compiled a whole new firmware for the box but I can only get it to load up to the boot image. Any suggestive links are appreciated as well as advice. I have done a lot of reading... but I don't mind doing more

Ask them for the kernel source. They are required by law to provide it.
The problem is they wont release it. they give lots of bull**** excuses and the mediator between us said he is going to ruin his relationship with them if he keeps pushing for it. I have the original source from the board manufacture (telechips)... i also pulled the proc/config.gz from the running machine.. then i tried matching up the settings through menuconfig and verifying by physically comparing the two .config files. i feel like there are files missing or something maybe.

Thanks for this post, I was considering the Kdlinks A200 for use with Kodi (XBMC) and maybe some light gaming but your post made it clear they are a shady company and not worth doing business with.
Can you recommend any alternatives which also run Android and have the ability to use a multi-terrabyte hard drive? Needs to be able to run Kodi (XBMC) too.
Thanks.

Successfully rooted
Thanks so much!! I have successfully rooted my asus-ME172V-WW_user_4.5.4.52875837_20140520 (latest firmware). I was just wondering if the custom AMPC rom would also be updated to support this firmware. But yet again thanks for your hard work.

For now no.
But maybe in the future when I have time again. since its a long process (Asus have changed the system a lot)
I would just use Xposed framework (make sure to read up on it before use)

Yeah, managed to get Xposed Framework to work fine(nice tweaks and all).
But just asking, would the custom rom affect the performance of the tablet in any way?? Cuz its kinna laggy and after all, its a single core processor. XD
its safe root me172v
well it's safe root this tablet?
What link do I use
Hi I'm new to rooting and xda, and I wanted to know which link is for the latest firmware.
Stuck at loading when trying to root newest firmware
I was elated to find out that you have released an update to the root util of the newest firmware, however, after restarting the phone with all the correct files, it hangs on loading at start up. I read another person's reply that he had successfully rooted the newest firmware with the Me172vRootUtil_v0.3 package.
Is there any additional risk involved in rooting with that package or should I wait for a fix to the newest root toolkit instead?
Bricked`?
Hi gyes..
I did just buy a Asus Memo Pad used real cheap.
And i did it becouse it looked bricked and wanted to see if i could unbrick it.
I have been reading here and there and im wondering.
Do i have to use an micro SD card?
Can i use a regular micro USB to connect to computer?
And is there a way after you see the pictures i have posted if it is in any way possible to unbrick it?
If not. then hey. i lost alitle bit money.
If yes. can you please guide me to the correct tread (if you know it)?
The picture with the asus logo is what it looks like in startup.
After a long while the other picture is how the screen looks like.
Edit.
I fixed it.
I found a restore and did put it on a SD card. Then everything went splendid.
After i wanted to try to install a new recovery on it. So i did the steps required to install a new one.
But under bootload the computer did not see the tablet. So im stuck at bootloader right now.
So if anyone know how to get out of it. PLEASE share.
I will uppdate this post ion how things go along.
Is it possible to use the 8GB dumps on a 16GB model? Will it break?
Kitkat support
Hi I'm thinking of buying this tablet, was wondering what is the latest Android version for the tablet? Is it 4.1 Jellybean?
HELP!!!
I bought my first android tablet and its a me172v 16gb but it has no basic apps, not even google play store. It has a lot of test apps like battery testsuite and touch test. The build says asus-ME172V_WW_eng-4.5.4.12334547_20130205 test-keys. I have been searching all day but do not know how to just restore this to default factory version or anything that will provide me with google play store.. PLEASE someone help me or point me in the right direction.
Heyy Crazykiddo, sorry to bother you. Ive been really keen when the AMPC Rom would be updated to support the new firmware. Ive been checking the thread frequently and just so if you happen to want to update it, please keep me posted. Youre the only guy i know who has done the root for this device. Im pretty attached to this device, haha
My Asus MeMo Pad 7 (ME172V) turns on by itself, very annoying
Hi everyone,
I'm new to this Android thing, I'm more of an iPad guy but I thought I could give this little thing a try in order to get more up close and personal with an Android tablet. I got that thing from a friend, and he said that it works fine but there is a catch. Whenever the thing is sleeping, it will wake up all of a sudden for no reason at all, then go back to sleep after 10 seconds, then eventually wake again, and so on. When the tablet is connected to a wall outlet or a USB port, it won't wake up like this.
Do you guys have a suggestion? This is driving me nuts.
Here's a video of the said behavior:
Hi
Basically my problem is that I am unable to understand how I could build rom based on sources made available by github.com/puresoul and modify it. I'd like to include drivers for my TP-LINK WM821N v4 (so that I could use the dongle under ubuntu on android). But googling around does not really help. If someone could provide any websites that help, step-by-step solution how I could do that or lead me somewhere would be really great. I have tried following a few quides but I haven't found anything more specific that would help me.
My computer is running Mint and if someone missed it, my phone is a d605.
