Speed Wear is a speedometer for your Android Wear device, turning your smart watch in a fully functional speedometer. Keeping track of your average and top speed, Speed Wear is ideal for driving cars, riding bikes, running and several other activities.
I have included three main features in the app:
- Accurate speed reading using either your watch's built in GPS or your phone's GPS
- Average speed and Top Speed
- Different units including: KM/H, MPH and Knots
Download:
Play Store Download
I look forward to any feedback and I am open to any ideas for the app!

Fantastic! Installed it... Can't wait to try it today

You can select MPH from the third screen

does not show up
Hello,
I am using a Samsung Galaxy S4 with Android 5.0.1.
Speed Wear installed OK on it.
I am using a Motorola Moto 360 with Android Wear 5.0.2
Speed Wear does not show up on the watch :crying:
I am using Wear Mini Launcher as well
I did a Moto 360 restart

Odds are that the apps hasn't yet synced to the watch. You can either wait a while for it to sync automatically, or else go into the Android Wear app, go into Settings, select your watch and press Resync Apps.

With Open Mic+ for Google Now, access all the commands from anywhere on your phone. Simply say "Okay Google" or wave your hand in front of the screen. Screen on, screen off Google Now will be ready to listen.
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?
Google Now becomes more conversational as after a search just say Okay Google to start a new one. And even better get the answers to your questions while your hands are tied, or when you're on the couch, or in the car.
TOMORROW'S FEATURES TODAY
Everybody's talking about the new Open Mic features for the Moto X, but now any phone that is running Jelly Bean or higher can have the same experience.
SEAMLESS
Open Mic+ will run in the background and can be configured to start at boot so that it truly becomes part of the phone.
OFFLINE
Open Mic+ uses offline voice recognition which means less data usage and faster results.
100% FREE
We saved the best for last. Open Mic+ has no ads, no in-app purchases, and is free to download. So why are you still reading this? Try Open Mic+ for Google Now.
I installed it and it is working smoothly yet but the developer looks promosing... and the application too! You can check it out here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.RSen.OpenMic

It a nice feature for sure but it would be good to make it alive without the display on because our is so hungry ^_^
Thank you!
COuld someone post an apk file as I have the Package File is Invalid Bug DD: )
This is an awesome idea!
Tested on the Motorola RAZR M running 4.3.
Great combination with ActiveNotifications (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.greatbytes.activenotifications)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Is there a way to theme this app to match the new always listening feature on the new Motorola X?
The tasker integration seems not working. It keeps going back to Google now instead of my Tasker task. Of course my Tasker allows external access. Please help as this is a huge thing for me.
this seems to have disappeared from Play?
Not on the play store. Would someone kindly post the apk?
You all are way better off following development on the Google+ page: https://plus.google.com/112424215551484520138/posts. This post isn't official.
It's been removed from the Play Store but you can still get it on the Amazon App Store. http://www.amazon.com/Open-Mic-for-Google-Now/dp/B00F106RGU/
It'd be nice if he would post his updates and stuff in here like many devs do

[Hack?] Control your PC from your watch

Here is the link to the full howto: http://wolfebaine.blogspot.com/2014/12/control-computer-from-android-wear.html
So I'm now the proud owner of an LG G Watch. After reading all the flame wars on whether Android Wear was the greatest thing since sliced bread or the worst thing since un-sliced bread I decided to be conservative and opted for a first gen watch before dropping too much cash on the "newest-greatest". I'm not going to add to the already gigantic pile of Wear reviews, suffice to say I'm satisfied with it for what it is and what I paid for it.
But that's not the point of this post. 90% of the reason I bought the watch wasn't for what it did, but rather what can I make it do??? So I got it, rooted it, and started sideloading apps (xda). What I ended up with was an android smartwatch that could also:
Play a movie (QQPlayer + ES File Explorer + Bluetooth Headset)
Run an NES Emulator (NES-FC Lite + Bluetooth controller)
Open my garage door (V1_Bluetooth_Arduino app + my bluetooth/arduino garage door setup)
None of these were really way out there as far as plausibility so I continued my hunt to push the limits of what this thing can do.
The one place I feel Android Wear falls short is the 'control' aspect of things. It is a fantastic little devices for providing you with information, but at the end of the day I should be able to tap the thing on my wrist to control my every day life.......
The closest thing I could find right now is the IFTTT integration. Bravo in general to this website and moreso for making it compatible with wear. They get it. Tap a button to cause an action somewhere in the real or digital world.
So after playing around with existing recipes (https://ifttt.com/android_wear) I remembered a post I saw a while ago about controlling your computer with IFTTT and Dropbox vis SMS.
http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/how-to-issue-a-command-to-your-computer-with-a-text-message/
The premise is exactly the same except instead of using SMS as the trigger, you'll use android wear as a trigger.
Click the link a the top for the full howto plus a nice video of my watch starting my Christmas tree light show.
Happy Holidays!
Yesterday i received my moto 360 and i was very excited about it's possibilities. I
I bought this remote control app a few hours ago: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.Relmtech.RemotePaid&hl=de
Only the full version of the app has android wear support, but it's worth it
Within the app you can create statusbar shortcuts which looks like this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
There are various actions you can assign for these shortcuts but the most useful i think is the Remote File Manager option. This allows you to start a batch located at your computer.
Personally i have created 4 shortcuts for changing the sound output and the mouse speed of my pc with one touch on my moto 360.
On my moto it looks like this: (only the symbol for the shortcut is correct, not the colour)
You can also control your mouse with your wear. But it's not working 100% smoothly for me.

[APP] The most accurate fitness tracking app for Android Wear!

We are Ken and Houtan, two developers building a personal trainer AI for wearables. Over the past year we've built out tech that can automatically recognize a user's exercises, like bench presses and squats, if they are wearing an Android Wear smart watch. We are launching the beta program for our app, YouMove, and are inviting members of the XDA community to join. We would love your comments and feedback on what we've done and would be thrilled to hear your suggestions on what we should do next!
Apply for the Beta!
We recently added the ability for the app to learn new user exercises, which we are really excited about!
Other features we are currently testing:
- Automatic, passive recognition of weight training, calisthenics and cardio exercises
- Tracking of exercises, reps, sets, resting times, calorie counts, and intensity
- Detailed display of a user's workout in a timeline on watch and phone
We know the XDA community can provide some great feedback on what we've made so far. Thanks everyone!

This looks really cool! I've been tracking my workouts using Google Sheets for a while now, but if this works, I could totally see it replacing that. I'll let you know more of my thoughts after I sign up for the beta and try it out a bit, but I was just wondering if there is a way to see your progress by exercise type in some place on the app. I've always roughly guessed how I've improved over time at, say, bench press, and I know that I can do it now if I really wanted to, but it'd be really cool to have it readily available on the app.
Looks interesting, may take it for a spin!
Where is the link for download? Also:
1. Will you be having only dark color for the app?
2. Does it support Android Wear independently without the need of the phone?
2.1. Does it support the internal GPS of Sony Smartwatch, for instance?

Current it is a closed beta, so once you apply we will send an email with a link.
1. We are switching to a lighter color UI on the phone. Sticking to a dark color on watch to conserve battery life.
2. Yes, it works on the watch independently of the phone.
3. At this point it doesn't support GPS. Right now we are primarily focused on weight training and calisthenics. But when we do hit cardio, we'll make sure to use GPS on the watch.
I'm interested in trying this out. How's progress on the app?
Link not working
I would love to participate but the link is not working
I would like to apply for the beta but the link is not working.
I mostly go sporting/gym 3 times a week.
Can i get a beta because i was searching for this kinda app ?
Thanks !

[APP] [5.0+] All Sports Score Keeper ... for all the sporty people out there

Hey guys,
Would love to hear feedback from you about my app that lets you to keep the score of the sports you play or watch on your Android Wear. It is great for people who play the sport, coaches, parents who watch their kids play sport etc. Initially it was designed to score tennis, but recently i have extended it to pretty much all sports. It has a unique system of scoring that doesn't require you to concentrate on the interface - simply swipe towards or away from yourself to score points. Whether the scoring system is just points or points and sets or goals it takes care of it all as it lets you choose which sport you are scoring.
Supported sports are:
- Tennis (default)
- Table Tennis
- Squash
- Badminton
- Fistball (yes, i had no idea this game existed as well...)
- Volleyball
- Simple Scoring - a general scoring mode for scoring points, goals etc.
Please check it out and i would love your hear your feedback.

Cheers!
Hey guys,
Thanks to all of you who had a chance to check it out. The app has been updated with mobile module so you can now use it on your phones or tablets!

What chance you will develop this app to work with Tizen and / or Apple Watch. I love it but my original Moto 360 is past it's sell by date and I can't see past the S3 for design and battery life, plus my partner use some Apple rather than android. Thanks

In the U.K., five a side football (soccer) is very popular and quite high scoring. It might be useful to be able to keep scores using the app? Basketball?

[APP]Clockwork Orange - Change Wear OS Accent color (8+-ROOT)

This is an app for Wear OS watches running Android 8+ using root. I got this idea from the fossil watches that had their accent color change to maroon (everyone hated it). I like the idea though. Sometimes the default blue clashes with the watch band I am using. This app lets you change the accent color of your watch to any of 20 colors. I've tried to stay true to the original brightness for the best readability.
I was going to release this on the play store and make a non-root version for Android 8 users, but since Wear OS will soon get a redesign, the app may need a lot of work or be obsolete, especially since all notifications will have their own color in the next version.
Feel free to use it till then and have fun. I don't plan on continuing development until I see how things turn out but hope the app will be useful in the next version.
Download
Known issues:
-My Huawei Watch 2 got stuck booting once, but holding down the power button until it restarted booted it up fine
-Some heavy tasks are running on the main thread so the app may hang sometimes
Here's an example of what it looks like:
Hey, sounds awesome, I don't have a rooted watch (I only have the Moto 360(2) which isn't running 8+ and a Fossil Q Explorist HR4 (Don't know how to root it) so a non-root version would be awesome, looking forward to updates on this!

Hey,
Here is a rootless option. It does not use the app at all, but follow the instructions in the zip and it should work without root

I believe the Fossil Q Explorist has it's own overlay that overrides mine. Other users have tried some things to disable it, but they don't seem to work.
https://www.reddit.com/r/WearOS/comments/9n0mfa/method_for_setting_custom_accent_color_clockwork/
I don't have one of these myself so I can't find a method. I have some suggestions in the thread I mentioned.
Oh ok, thanks anyway
Hello, is this still working on Fossil Gen 5 with MR2 update?
