Hi there!
Anyone experiencing any kind of issues with the original S-View case on Note 3 with the official Lollipop? I have an N9005 and I'm planning to buy the case but I read on some places that it may not be fully compatible with Lollipop??
Thanks in advance.
Nabil.
No issue at all. I was using (almost 2 years) genuine white s view flip cover with kitkat 4.3 and 4.4 and with official 5,0 and 5.01 lollipop with no problems. Some extra features available with lollipop.
Now I'm on AryaMod ROM and it works still as it meant to be working. So don't worry, go buy Yours S view case be happy using it.
Problems
yes, sview cover case with Kitkat was no problems, but after updated to lollipop it`s working only after reboot, then nothing working.
Problem with me too
Same is happening to me. Turned off, pulled out battery, restart again after some moments, got it working but only for two or three times, then again gone black. Since months have passed, is there any change in your case?
same ....but fixed now
no issue, working as normal
Been using the S-View case since day 1 back in October of 2013 and it has worked on every Touchwiz rom 4.x-5.x
Go for an ORIGINAL Samsung S View cover and you won't have any problem on every official version.
working normal:good:
Sometimes some stores sell official cases that aren't actually licensed by Samsung though they look like they are. They still work but not as great an official Samsung one. Like I think I have one but sometimes it doesn't detect the case. like it could be closed but the S-View display wont appear.
I have a 3rd party one on my Note 4 where S View does not work, apparently there was an update done that made only the official ones work ( Samsung denies it )
Thats a Problem from the rom.
No problems here, I'm using it since last year, and it works perfectly. Remember to buy the orginal one.

I am curious to know why I don't encounter the issues/problems that are mentioned here, eg . wifi disconnection, screen flickering, long charging hours, etc. even before the ics upgrade.
The reason I'm asking is that my friend is coming to HK from the U.S. and wants to buy the Sony Tablet S. My concerns, apart from the region for future update, are the above issues associated with the Sony sold overseas (local forum here did mention these issues but not as often as here).
My tablet is made in China and is not rooted.
Would those who have issues with the tablets please advise where is your device made and whether it is rooted or not.
Appreciate that.
p.s. there is now promotion in HK when buying Sony tablets, US$40 supermarket voucher and free cover. I got a free cover when I bought my tablet s in Feb this year.
I got all those problems AFTER ICS upgrade. No issues before I upgraded.
Not rooted device.

Is yours made in China? It's shown on the lower left hand corner at the back. I don't know if all are made in China.
I havent experienced any software problem with this tab. Bought in India and still on Honeycomb (Latest Version).
Same
Hi, i got almost same problems.
I bought tablet in Malaysia and before upgrate it was awesome, i couldnt see any problems.
After update, i have wifi issue, screen cutting (when i use multitasking), it is very slow. browser always FC both chrome and stock
I guess it is related to software, ics is not ready for tablets i guess.
No root, everything stock.
i cant switch ON my tablet s ..press power button few times and screen still blank ..battery is fully charged.
Do reset. That helped me. (my table is made in China)
pin in the reset hole - it's like taking out the battery and re-inserting.
Hi guys, I'm a newbie and been roaming for a while. Anyway, I have a samsung galaxy s2 (international). Other week I dropped it in a bowl of acetone but surprisingly phone came back to life and works as good as new. However, when I finally tried the camera I noticed it was blurry unless focused, and even then, the focus was very temperamental so couldn't always guarantee a decent pic (and having kids you can't always wait for the Autofocus to work to take the pic as they don't stay In one place, lol). I bought a camera module but because I didn't read it properly I thought it was an official s2 module which I found out wasn't when I fitted it. Picture was a lot worse than the original one I had so put that one back in, at least I could get a decent pic WHEN it was working.
To be fair I could just buy a new phone but I love my s2 and don't want to fork out money for the same phone, I'd want a whole new phone to play with, and nothing takes my fancy.
So, anyway, partner has kept an eye out for spares and repairs s2's as at least when I get one I know it's going to be a proper camera module. Found one that's on Vodafone and won't turn on for £50 and there's a good chance the camera will work (if not will just bung on ebay again).
I know how to physically install it, but need advice on what to do regarding firmware? I know there's different modules (fuji, Sony etc...) so if the one I install is different from the one im currently using will I need to do something regarding software? You can't get the camera firmware updater anymore from the Samsung store so need help, please
Oh and phones Rooted but has stock room, if that makes any difference.

So I decided (and you cannot begin to fathom how painful this choice was) to skip root and update to marshmellow.
Android pay being excluded due to root was bad enough, but Pokemon Go was the straw that broke the camel's back.
The camera and audio on this phone are awesome...as is root.
If you don't have root, there is honestly not much reason to have this phone IMO.
Or if you got a super deal on it, that would be a good reason too, and it does look cool and is well-made.

It is a very nice looking phone and does seem well made. I LOVE the fingerprint reader. it works so fast and seamless. Not like my old S5. this is the first non-Samsung phone I've had in 4 years and let me just say It feels so good not to look at another TW interface.I was eligible for a subsidized upgrade through Verizon and my choices came down to this or the Moto Z. I finally chose this because 1: 64 GB, 2. Headphone Jack, and 3. Regular micro USB connection.
LG is lacking in support lately. 6.0.1 has been available since December 2015 and they sent 6.0 in May of 2016 then another update in July 2016 and it still isn't 6.0.1.

I think you made the right choice. Get an Obliq case and glass screen protector and you're good to go

Those Obliq cases are nice looking but I already bought a Rugged armor case (otter knockoff) on Ebay. I don't like the glass screen protectors though. I tried one once on a previous phone and it broke within a week. I was glad my phone itself wasn't broken, but what's the point protecting yoru screen from breakage with something that looks broken?
I stick with the plastic screen protectors.
I will only use glass SPs. Most manufacturers such as Tech Armor will replace them for free if they break.

If you can get a phone WITHOUT v6 (marshmellow) then you have it made.
I loved this phone till I made the dumb ass move and and accepted the v6 update. It borked BT; now everything I connect to is staticy and noisy. It worked perfect before. I called Verizon support about this; they were no help, and didn't care.

All issues are fixed with 6.0.1. At least on Google's side. LG and VZW refuse to push this update. I've taken to tweeting them almost daily. LG no longer responds and VZW wants to do troubleshooting.

They will push the update about 3 weeks after you sell the phone. You might see an update. Now that Nougat is live, you should see the update to 6.0.1 in 18 months because Verizon has decided that you as customers do not want to deal with pesky updates and security fixes.
I think I am going to ditch this brick and get a Pixel phone, updates straight from google when they are released. No Verizon branding or bloat if you get it from google.
Hi guys.
Got a brand new p9000 today.
Need a bit of help with some things.
I can't get the qi charging working. Tried 3 pads, loads of cables. All work with an S6 Edge and Nexus 7.
There is no options for any sort of notification led, plus there doesn't seem to be one active. Not when charging, email and texts arrive etc.
I've attached a screenshot of the kernal version, build etc.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Still no luck with this phone.
Cannot find any of the settings for led notification, pulse led or anything.
Qi charging is still not working.
Factory reset does not help.
Harlequin led in settings. If it is not there it is because your phone is on an unofficial rom. It you build reads the wrong date

Hmmmm.
I updated the phone straight out of the box through the wi-fi update app.
What's the latest official build number?

Managed to update to that rom about an hour ago!
Now have the options for notification LEDs, but they are broken in this version I understand.
No joy yet though with qi charging...

But of course, now the fingerprint sensor is not accessible at all, and the handset seems to have stopped charging...
Been into recovery and wiped cache and data.
Still no fingerprint sensor, and charging seems to have stopped.[emoji47]

Yep, it's completely FUBAR now. No fingerprint, almost stopped charging. IMEI numbers have been wiped...
All from official ROMs flashed from official elephone site.
The POS is going back to China....

I ended up sorting this by re-installing a rom with the build number Elephone_P9000_E_20170401
Got fingerprint back and wired charging is back again. Note the "E" in the rom build. Any rom without this "E" did NOT work. My handset is branded as a P9000, but doesnt have QI charging or NFC.
Have i been sent the wrong handset? A clone? Who knows.....

I think we are cheated same with me
QI charging works fine with a cheap charger of ebay.
The phone is a bit picky that you position it just right on the pad , but there is good reason why it shouldn't work ... mine does.
I think NFC needs have a recognised licence from the provider and because it is to all intents and purposes a Chinese unknown
It doesn't work.
SKY GO would not work for the same reason.
SKY deals with the big players and Elephone is not one of them.

I have to answer yes to this, but after a return to LG via my ebay seller (with the phone being under a year old) within the last month, I had the phone come back in working condition.
I've since upgraded to the latest official supported version of the OS, (7.0) (V30b-TWN-XX) and now... the back camera doesn't work.
Has anyone had this happen yet? It is kind of mentioned here though. https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=73107988&postcount=6
I went crazy thinking that the battery had broken it, that I went and bought a new camera module.
I'm thinking it's software related and that they forgot to include the camera module driver in the OS build. I could be wrong...
But the other frustrating thing is that now the phone screams that the battery is not an LG battery - which it certainly is (still the original) when I restart the phone.
I love this phone, but the issues are driving me crazy that I'm even considering going to the dark side.
Ta.
