Hello guys!!! I buy used HTC EVO 3D, but when i open in my house, see this is CDMA version (no sim card).
I wana use this in WCDMA/3G with SIM card, but the phone dont have SIM slot
There any way to extract the information of SIM carrier(WCDMA) and input this information inside the CDMA phone?
Or any Hidden SIM slot in this phone?
Thanks very!!!
i alread buy at Ebay one USB SIM reader for get all information inside SIM, to try input on CDMA chip, but the radio still BIG problem.
Someone know if flash the GSM radio inside CDMA Evo 3D will work?
Otherwise i hear about Global phones can use both GSM/CDMA just with patch, so HTC EVO 3D is a global phone?
"If you have a Global Phone for CDMA Network and you want correctly use it on GSM Network than you have to edit the build.prop file to fully enable the GSM\UMTS and you have to set APNs to use 3g data"

If you're on Sprint, Boost Mobile, Nextel, Cricket, or Straight Talk, then you're definitely on 1900mhz CDMA. If you're outside of the US, you're most likely on GSM. And as stated above, if you have a SIM card (not microSD, that has nothing to do with your network), then you ARE on GSM. It is also entirely possible that you SOMEHOW have GSM and CDMA radios and are on both. Although this is not very likely, because I have never heard of an Evo 3D having both.

So should the GSM phone work on both radios? Because its working on both (cdma and gsm)
I will be doing some international travel soon with my Photon to countries where GSM is standard. I usually just buy some cheap unlocked GSM phone and get a chip to use when I'm in-country.
How does GSM in the Photon work? Is it unlocked and can I just put in a chip from an international carrier when I'm in another country? I'm using Jokersax CM9, is there configuration I need to do there to use the GSM network instead of CDMA when I'm abroad? From what I can tell all I need to do is use *#*# info #*#* and then set the radio to GSM and have the chip in. I'd really like a confirmation that it actually works from someone using this now with this ROM since I don't want to land in country and then figure out it didn't work. So any tips on tricks that need to be done or just a confirmation that's all it takes would be fantastic.
Also - I'm assuming domestic GSM doesn't work at all, correct? As in, if I went and bought a prepaid GSM card from AT&T I can't just put it in, switch to GSM and go, right?
I am living in Israel and using the Photon (with cm9 0.6.1) on a gsm network. it works awesome!
just put your sim card and start having fun

Can you remove the Simlock from a CDMA Evo 3d so that it will be able to use any carrier? Telus or rogers etc... I have tried searching the forums and Google (that was a joke all of the results I could find were commercials for paying someone else to do it for you. I want to do it myself. If possible.
I do not believe you can flash your network over to a sim based network like rodgers due to the fact that cdma phones do not have the hardware integrated inside the phone to run gsm networks or sim based. Your best bet is to flash to another network like boost, virgin mobile, page plus or metro pcs. However any type of esn or meid cloning is illegal and is frowned upon when asking for help on xda. Asking for help will get into trouble here so google will have to hold your hand as you search it's massive data bases to find the method of flashing networks.

AFAIK, MSM8660 (which is inside CDMA 3D) can do both CDMA and GSM unlike MSM8260 (which is inside GSM 3D).... But I believe it's not possible to use GSM service on it, since it does not have a sim slot and a OS to support it. If Rogers have CDMA service too, then it should be possible.
Thanks for that little piece of info sir.

Correct, there is no SIM on the CDMA version. I read about someone a while ago that was able to hack the radio and get GSM to show up, but without a SIM card it is useless. If you could solder a SIM reader on and then hack the radio (which are extremely difficult) you may be able to do it, but it would not be worth it.

Should work with EVO 3D
You will have Sprint + Rogers/Any GSM carrier
Hi, I have a Droid DNA that I'd like to use on another Cdma operator, reliance in India. I had heard that people have been able to get it work by just popping in a reliance ruim but my DNA won't even pick up the reliance signal when I use their ruim. A sim works just fine though but I don't want to use the GSM since the network sucks. Need some expert help on how to enable ruim. Do I need to flash the radio? If yes, which one should I use.
TIA
