This new sub forum is dedicated to CDMA versions of HTC's Touch Pro.
Over the next day or so, myself and other Mods will be rooting through the Raphael ROM Development section and moving CDMA threads here.
Thanks

thanks bro super thanks !!!
Hmmm... It might be a good thing to explain what a CDMA is.
(Yes, I am a bit unsure myself, though I do understand it has something to do with the frequencies that the cellphone will operate at?)
(Ah, I found it. CDMA != GSM, some extra version of the Raphael primarily meant for the North-American market, does not work in Europe... shame though)
Code Division Multiple Access) A method for transmitting simultaneous digital signals over a shared portion of the spectrum. Although used in various radio communications systems, the most widely known application of CDMA is for cellular systems that operate in the 800 MHz and 1.9 GHz PCS bands. As of 2008, there were more than 450 million CDMA cellphone users in the world, with more than half in Asia. Verizon and Sprint are CDMA carriers in the U.S., while TELUS uses CDMA in Canada. QUALCOMM is the developer of the CDMA air interface used in cellular systems.
Thanks A Million
Thank You, Thank You, Thank You for listening to US.
YaY

I believe that's GSM Network. Look here:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Raphael_WM6.1_ROMs
Ah I see... Ok... thought that maybe if I set the band to WCDMA and I get a signal it would be an indication that my handset/network supports it.
Thanks though!
Could the GMS Raphael specific forums be changed to a GSM prefix as this CDMA sub-forum?
That could start to minise confusion -- particularly those using searches and finding themselves to links posted in a Raphael forum but it's not the Raphael that they own.
...in other model forums it's rather easy to point out to one that they are posting in a forum that does not cover their phone. Not so easy when one reponds -- but I do have a Raphael/Touch Pro.
Sure, the GSM model was out first and is more widely available, but keeping the sole Raphael name for it is only going to invite confusion. Best to be pro-active now before forums become flustered with confusing threads and posts.
WCDMA & CDMA are not the same thing WCDMA is 3rd Generation data over wireless protocol used for GSM
CDMA uses EVDO Rev1 for data
IF you have sim Card, chances are u r on GSM CDMA doesnt use sim card (unless ofcourse you are on iDEN and i dont think there is a TP for nextel
gsm 3g is based on cdma so it is some times called wcdma... and cdma carriers can have sim card like chips called ruim cards i believe u would only find this in india tho.. and iden is iden its not cdma but sprint does offer phones that can do iden and cdma at the same time..
I would prefer a GSM phone over a CDMA phone anyday because of the SIM card

I don't have GSM, but I'm just wondering, why is there no GSM section?

Every place else to do with the Raphael is assumed to be GSM.... Confusion is desired while all CDMA Raphael 800 discussion is ostracised to this section.
Yes, it would far more sense to actually title the Raphael ROM section as Raphael GSM ROM Development and similarly for this CDMA section.... Doesn't appear that it'll happen since the GSM model was released first and the powers that be here have declared it to be the sole deserving model of the unspecified Raphael name.

I prefer CDMA because when my phone gets stolen, the bastard cannot not use it anymore because the SN will be reported as stolen and the phone will be locked by my carrier.

Unlocking Question (I'm willing to pay)

Hi Folks,
This may be a dumb-ass question (sorry if it is), but I'll ask it anyway!
I am buying a Touch Pro from the US. It's locked to Sprint and the vendor says it can only be used "on the CDMA network". So,my dumb-ass question is this:
Does that mean that if I buy Olipro's unlock code (as I doubt I've posted enough to qualify for a freebie), will the phone unlock and work with my UK and Mexican SIM's?
If your Touch Pro is CDMA Model, please use propper unlocker posted on http://forum.ppcgeeks.com for Raphael CDMA. But if it's GSM model you must use Olipro's paid unlocker.

NO it will not work with any SIM's. Its CDMA, NOT gsm, so it doesnt even have a sim card holder.. dont buy it

That was damn quick! Thanks borce. You should be in customer services
What's the difference between a CDMA and GSM model? I thought GSM was the old 2G network. Isn't CDMA the same as HSDPA?
Will a CDMA phone work in the UK?
Sorry again for my stupidity.

Ahh. Thanks omaralt. Sim-less like 3 in the UK and lUSAcell in Mexico?
HSDPA is a WCDMA technology, not a CDMA technology, while similar, they are not compatible.
This list appears to be out of date, but it will give you an idea of who supports CDMA:
http://www.mobileisgood.com/serviceProviders.php?technology_id=2
Here is CDMA, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CDMA and here is GSM, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GSM and HSDPA, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hsdpa. CDMA phones don't work in UK because UK have only 2G GSM and 3G UMTS network. Only USA, Japan and 2/3 other countries have CDMA networks.
So the general consensus is don't get one unless I'll be in the US forever?
I have a T-Mobile contract in the UK with 3 new phones (all HTC Diamond's). They don;t have the Pro on their network yet. Everyone else (3rd party vendors) are offering it on T-Mobile, but T-Mobile themselves don't!!!!!
Anyone want to swap a brand new Diamond for a Touch Pro??

CDMA to GSM(SIM card) is posible?

Hello guys!!! I buy used HTC EVO 3D, but when i open in my house, see this is CDMA version (no sim card).
I wana use this in WCDMA/3G with SIM card, but the phone dont have SIM slot
There any way to extract the information of SIM carrier(WCDMA) and input this information inside the CDMA phone?
Or any Hidden SIM slot in this phone?
Thanks very!!!
i alread buy at Ebay one USB SIM reader for get all information inside SIM, to try input on CDMA chip, but the radio still BIG problem.
Someone know if flash the GSM radio inside CDMA Evo 3D will work?
Otherwise i hear about Global phones can use both GSM/CDMA just with patch, so HTC EVO 3D is a global phone?
"If you have a Global Phone for CDMA Network and you want correctly use it on GSM Network than you have to edit the build.prop file to fully enable the GSM\UMTS and you have to set APNs to use 3g data"

If someone know, plz share with me
