Did you sign up for samsung dive?
No...Can the unlock pattern be by-passed easily?
Try plan b from market.
Plan B from Lookout labs is a find my phone app that you download. AFTER you lose your phone. Thanks to the new Android market, all you have to do is: Login to the Android Market, Find Plan B and Install it. Plan B will start locating your phone using cell towers and GPS. It will email you the location every 10 mins. It works best if you have the GPS enabled already as the app can not do that by it'self.

Yeah pretty easily from my experience... Not sure how many people know how to though
Surely flashing a stock rom with repartition will remove it? You don't need the pattern to get in download mode. Sorry to hear about your loss.

They wouldn't even need to repartition... This is the only downside of an unlocked bootloader phone.
Thing is, thieves tend to be the lowest levels of civilisation, so will they know how to get it into download mode? Or how to correctly flash it in ODIN? Or do they even know about the possibility of such modes?
Yes, some thieves are smart, but most ain't.
I just don't want them to access my info...I rather they had to wipe it and keep the damn thing.
Will try the App also...thanks.
i guess you didnt install mobile defense or any tracking app to your phone. that's the first thing that gets installed to my device, automatically actually because its tied to my google account. so i can go to mobiledefense website and track my phone, wipe the phone remotely, etc. sorry for such a loss!

I use mobile defense, but I heard they closed off for new users. I don't know, but similar apps exist like where's my Droid or something like that.
Prey project is free iirc.
Lookout is and app that allows you to perform wipes, & locate your device also.
I've also used LostPhone(stop sign for app icon)

no one mentioned the first thing to do!
CHANGE YOUR GOOGLE PASSWORD!!
Yes I changed Google password 1st thing..Sim card was not in the phone, did not think network would help.
give the network your ime number and they will block the phone for you.

You can use Samsung's solution on SGS2, SamsungDrive . Also lets you track and remote wipe.

+1000 change ALL passwords that you saved on the phone (like Yahoo, papal, whatever). Google is the main one.

the network can only stop the activity on the SIM card (phone is irrelevant, and they can't do **** besides deactivating the SIM imho)

They MAY block it but only from activating on their network.
OP, I am genuinely sorry for the loss.

He's right though. Who else can answer the question of WHY this feature isn't in the Samsung stock camera, other than Samsung?

You're totally missing his point. You asked why they didn't include a feature. How should we know? If you want an answer to your question, take MistahBungle's advice.
yap...i get it now
Tried lgCamera (free version) on my s2 and it crashed so badly, I had to pull the battery.

works fine for me as well. also, i have never once had to pull the battery for anything. you can also hold the power button for 7 seconds for the device to switch the phone off, no matter how bad a freeze is.
Well, its come to the time to allow my kid their first, own, smartphone. Actually, I will be passing onto him, one of my older Android phones; old as in running Gingerbread. One of my phones as is its rooted.
Is there some way to block him from installing apps or allowing app updates? Possibly with a password or PIN, that only I would know?
Yea, I know how to stop auto-updates. But, I am sure if the phone asked him to manually approve downloading and installing an update, he would naturally comply and click on "yes" (or "accept" or whatever the prompt says).
I kind-of look at this as being training wheels for a smartphone. By the time he cracks any such password, he'll be ready to go without such restrictions.
Probably is an app store that does that but google play doesnt. Keep looking, but probably need a child lock of some type
You could root it and delete the google play app
I think you need tot flash an official firmware... And root it afterwards...
What kind of phone do you have?

I think that would stop me, too, from updating and adding new apps.
I don't want to stop it overall. I just want to stop him from doing such (at least until he learns the ins-and-outs).

Is there an application that automatically takes a photo at certain specified times (for example, at 8am,11am,2pm,5pm)?

I don't know for sure, but this sounds like something Tasker could do.

Hello guys,
I just bought a new Amazfit Bip U, but after 2 days, i installed Notify for Amazfit app, and here you can install custom firmware. I saw something to see all emoticons, a font. But after update, my band shows "update failed". One of the worst solutions is to wait for a new official update... Do you know another solutions?
This is on my watch screen

Factory reset your Amafit watch and reconnect your watch with the Zepp app from your phone. Then, go to Zepp app>> go to profile tab>> go to your device>> go to watch settings>>system language. Then change to another language. Then it will update your watch and you will get it back
(I got it back by this way. But I am not sure that is the way. Good luck!!)
