Suddenly whenever I open a media app the notification widget will open and stay open until I force close the app. This happens with Google Play Music, BeyondPod, Podcast Addict and YouTube. Had anyone else had this issue? It's very annoying and crowds my notification panel.
If you mean the notification stays while media plays, that's normal and nothing new. It's a 'persistent notification'.
There is no media playing, it just stays open in a "paused" state even though I had no content playing at the moment.

Ok, so you know how in iOS, your listening to music, and then you head on over to youtube, click a video, your music fades out and your video starts? How come on android it just continues with music and youtube at same time? Is there a setting im missing? Its irritating, because i have to go back and click pause
Thanks!

Actually, I just tried two tests:
Play music with Sony Ericsson 'Mediascape' app.
While the music is playing, press the Home button.
Launch the 'YouTube' app.
Verify music continues to play while the 'YouTube' app is in its menu screens.
Select a video to play.
Verify music stops playing.
...and...
Play music with the Google 'Music' app.
While the music is playing, press the Home button.
Launch the 'YouTube' app.
Verify music continues to play while the 'YouTube' app is in its menu screens.
Select a video to play.
Verify music stops playing.
In both these situations, 'Mediascape' and 'Music' both automatically close as soon as a video begins playing on the 'YouTube' app.
I'm not sure why that doesn't happen with your phone, though.
I'm running on Sony Ericsson generic world Android 2.1.

oh oops i forgot to say that im running the free x10 beta4 rom 2.2.1
I'm on J's CM7 Gingerbread 20c ROM and have the issue. Going through both threads (since I used to be on beta 4) I haven't found much. It becomes a habit with time though. I did however find using the pause on the lockscreen less of a bother than having to go into the app itself.
My stock music player keeps pausing after a few seconds of play, and occasionally it will skip to the next track. I am not sure how to fix this and it is very annoying. I have had this issue both rooted and stock. Looking on the web it appears that others are having this issue as well, and that turning off the flip motion does not help, as well as using other players. Has anyone found a fix for this?
EDIT: I have a feeling this is a sensitivity issue with the screen. I notice if I pause, it automatically starts playing sometimes. Perhaps the heat of my touch is being retained on the screen and the app has too sensitive of a setting to tap the play button?
I haven't used the stock music player because of the lack of features available. Try player pro from the play store. It is one of the best music apps I have found, even better then winamp in my opionion.

It will act up if you have it USB-connected to your computer and access the files on your storage card using your computer's explorer.
I'm not connected to anything. Does it while charging, not charging, bluetooth, headphones, phone speakers, stock app, other apps, ect.
I updated to 4.2.2/Sense 5 this morning. Everything works great with the exception of the music app. It lets me browse all of my music, but won't play any of it! I press play, and nothing happens, the progress bar stays at 0:00 even though the play icon turns into a pause icon. My music plays fine in the Play Music app and in the ES media player, so I know it's not the music. Anyone else have this issue?
Worked after a reboot!

Does anyone know if there's a way to disable the autostart of the music player. I'm on Candy, but it's done this on every rom and any player.
I always freeze the stock launcher and install the Apollo apk. I listen to a lot of podcasts. Every time I start or restart my Jeep with Bluetooth, the music App Launches even if it isn't open and Pocketcast is. Sometimes it's more annoying than others.
I can't find a setting in Settings or the app.
Recently upgraded from a z3c (with sony concept software) to a z5c. It's been pretty sweet but I'm getting really frustrated with Google play music being killed in the background whenever music is paused. This happens when I've moved from the play music app to another with the music paused (usually about a minute or so. after switching apps). It's extremely frustrating as I can't just carry on playing music once I'm done whatever I'm doing in the other app; I have to re-open google play music and click play again. This is particularly annoying when I'm in my car as I use a bluetooth head unit which I can pause/play music, which won't work if the app has been killed i.e. I'd have to open the app again on my phone which I obviously can't do when I'm driving.
Does anyone have any ideas? So far I've tried un-optimising the app in the battery settings, clearing the cache, stopping other processes (to make sure I'm not maxing out the RAM) but with no success. I'm not a power user and haven't got the phone rooted, and would like to avoid it if possible. Any help would be much appreciated!
