[Q] GT-I9300 hidden.img FAIL! - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have the following error when I try to install the correct firmware with odin 3.09

firmware: sammobile.com I9300XXUGNG3_I9300QXFGNG2_I9300XXUGNA8_HOME.tar.md5
I tried with Kies "Firmware upgrade and initialization "and gave an error at the end and did nothing
I tried another USB cable (original Samsung), another usb port ... same error
I installed TWRP Recovery and when I tried to format partitions data error "not found" I tried to mount but gave "not found" error

Try the rescue firmware and pit, flashed with Odin. Search in general forum for the thread.

Happen to me once..make sure KIES not running in background..if u dont know how to check, just uninstall KIES..dont worry, u can get KIES installer later with just google it..

***URGENT HELP*** Write failure to stock rom

Hello all,
I rooted my galaxy s3 and all went fine, then the battery died (battery is no longer in use) so i bought a new one and all was well, upon flashing stock rom, the write failed.
When booting the phone up it says: "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies and try again.

Bad flash wrong firmware or more likely file is corrupt .
Make sure Kies is not running as well .

i have galaxy s2 i9100g and whener i try to inter the download mode it says recover with kies
but kies doesnt recognise it
i tried to reflash ics rom and used .bit file but it fails everytime

Advanced search Hopper8's threads to find his 'Odin doesn't flash successfully' thread. There's a bunch of stuff you can try in there.
The only way you're fixing this is if you get the phone to successfully take an Odin flash, unless you want to take it to a service centre where they'll flash the most recent firmware they have to the phone.

This is now, download mode show me in my pc "Usb device problem...." and, im my phone turn on have message:
Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in kies & try again.
Whats next? im have this phone 1 DAY !!!! :crying:
Hopper8's 'Odin troubleshooting' thread stickied in the General section, find it, try as much of the stuff in the thread as you need to in order to get a successful Odin flash.

i bricked my samsung sm-g925 t tmobile

i was using odin trying to re install the stock firmwar and it comes up with this error: check fail device:3 binary:1 and on odin it says<OSM> Enter CS for MD5..

Can you get into bootloader? If so fire up smart switch on your pc and click over to emergencey recovery and type in your model number and serial number all in capitals and it should download the software and flash it
I've had this happen too me twice,first make sure you flashing the correct firmware,mine worked once I had the official firmware and my phone wouldn't even enter recovery.
