Hello all,
I rooted my galaxy s3 and all went fine, then the battery died (battery is no longer in use) so i bought a new one and all was well, upon flashing stock rom, the write failed.
When booting the phone up it says: "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies and try again.

Advanced search Hopper8's threads to find his 'Odin doesn't flash successfully' thread. There's a bunch of stuff you can try in there.
The only way you're fixing this is if you get the phone to successfully take an Odin flash, unless you want to take it to a service centre where they'll flash the most recent firmware they have to the phone.
Im flash on odin this firmware:
I9100XXMS1_I9100OXAMS1_XEO
im have a log from odin.... :

Hopper8's 'Odin troubleshooting' thread stickied in the General section, find it, try as much of the stuff in the thread as you need to in order to get a successful Odin flash.

Can you get into bootloader? If so fire up smart switch on your pc and click over to emergencey recovery and type in your model number and serial number all in capitals and it should download the software and flash it
I've had this happen too me twice, first make sure you flashing the correct firmware, mine worked once I had the official firmware and my phone wouldn't even enter recovery.
