Thank you.
I finally opened the box.
This LTE Roam is all over (besides the options in ##DATA# menus).
It's now a separate checkbox in Roaming and Roaming Guards Both Domestic and International. 3 new Checkboxes.
So does anyone one know the policy on LTE Roaming? Will we get charged? Will it now work?

So you are like me in an area where there is no LTE and your data speed is slow. Just add the HSPA APN and your speed will increase. Simple...

Okay, so you're saying an area that doesn't have LTE. What if you do have LTE? I have LTE in places around Houston, but I'd love for my HSPA to be faster. Will this break my LTE?
It's so awesome. I'm at my friend's apt right now and I seen 24.8Mbps. Like WTF!? \('o')/
It does say adding something and not just replacing. I guess I can give this a try right now. I'll post back to see if my LTE falters.
EDIT: Well I've added the new APN. Everytime I try and select it, it jumps back to the default APN. Maybe it will switch when I leave this LTE area. I'll try then.
How do I get to the area where I add the apn setting?

I've gone back and forth on the change and at times, the upload speed is quite miserable. I've seen some uptick in the download speeds for the better on the order of going from around 2.5 - 2.9M up to 3.6 - 4.6M. Certainly not the increases some of you are seeing, but I'll keep my eye on this. Thanks nonetheless!

So apparently there is a problem with using data abroad with another provider's sim. The Acces Point setting is unable to be changed. I was told the S4 had the same problem which just recently was fixed by Samsung in a firmware update.

The 90 day thing is for the phone. If it hasn't been active for 90 days they open a case and call you in 24-48 hours depending on their work load. I had mine unlocked the day after release. It can be done from the international chat. It's different than the regular chat.

This describes how you can Flash Sprint Note 3 to Reliance/Cricket/Metro
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2521369
Getting MSL is really easy using application SPCUtility.apk
http://tools.flashingtools.com/SPCUtility.apk
Now have anyone tried to take note 3 with GSM SIM unlock code outside of the US and use it with a foreign SIM?
Do you need to mod the build.prop? Why do you need to if you can access APN menu without it?
also someone above said: "but without spc cant possible to unlock it for GSM carrier."
How can you unlock GSM with SPC? just for international use of for US carriers as well?
You can acces the APN menu but you can't change anything without the build.prop change...

ok, I see the "+" button goes to the "add APN" but everything is grayed out so it can only be used to switch between existing APNs but not adding a new one.
However I've just tried to use APN manager Pro and I was able to add an APN without modding the build.prop
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ale.android.apnmanagerwithanimation&hl=en
Also from my experience with traveling with modded Sprint's Note 2, it is easier to download xml file with huge database of APNs and inject it with APN manager pro. Some lists are here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=35753093&postcount=3
I've attached my backup that can be restored with APN manager pro
This way when you insert a SIM card it automatically pics up a correct APN.
Plz make tools unlock gsm like s4 sprint . Waitinggggg

Call Sprint Tech support 888-211-4727 and tell them you need your MSL for your Note 3 and if they question you just tell them you are a developer.
Dial ##3282#
Choose "Edit" and enter your MSL
Go to Edit and to LTE
You can make changes if they are available to change but I am currently on the 4.4.2 KitKat leak and there are no options other than LTE on or off
Not sure if there were options on 4.3 cause I never needed to edit them.

My best guess, is what @w7excursion said. Your sim card has not been programmed for your account. Your best bet, would be to take it to Sprint store, that is also a repair facility. You may have to go to more than one, until you find someone competent enough to handle it.

You're not the only one with useless data speeds. I'm happy on days when LTE speeds reach 1Mbps, here in the Houston area.
I was being a dumbass and dialed *228 thinking it will update my PRL and improve my signal. Immediately after programming, I was limited to 3g connection. I lost 4g/LTE connection. I fixed this by going to the Verizon store and asked them for a new SIM card, which was free of charge.
*228 is for 3g phones ONLY. Not for the GS4, unless you like 3g connection speeds...
It is a relatively simple solution, but it can also be easily avoided. Save yourself the trouble, and don't make the same mistake I did.

When you have cable TV and nothing seems to be on you get bored. When you get bored you try to improve your cell phones data connection. When you try and improve your data connection you use *228 when you use *228 you limit you data speeds to 3g and it requires a new sim card. Avoid using *228, ditch your cable TV and sign up for for direct tv. Lol

I made the same mistake too. I waited a few days and no 4G/LTE came back. I tried going to the local corporate store and they wouldn't even talk to me as I was running a custom recovery & rom (on MDK bootloader!). I went to one of the retail stores and they helped me out with a new SIM card.

another way to get prl back is to clean flash a rom and the system automatically does a prl update on boot if other steps dont work
Sent From My Hyperdriven S4
I did this a month or two ago and lost my 4g. What I did was contact Verizon Support (via web chat but you could call them). I told them I accidentally dialed *228 and lost 4g and asked them if they would manually push a PRL update to my phone. The technician had me power off my device and when I turned it back on all was well, had 4g again.
This saved me the awkwardness of taking my phone into a store where they would see it was rooted with a custom ROM.
Sadly, found this thread too late. I dialed *228 and had to go get a new sim. At least no questions were asked at VZW.
Yeah . . I did it too lol
If you want to change your connection or update your prl's there's a code you can typee in the phone dialer to bring up a hidden menu.
In the dialer type *#*#4636#*#* and then go to phone information and scroll down and change the option to CDMA/LTE and that always works for me.
I've heard of a few people that this hasn't worked with, but other wise it has always worked for me.
