Onedrive 100GB cloud storage - Galaxy S6 Edge Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi
Did anyone figure out how we get the Onedrive 100GB cloud storage that I saw numerous reviews about. I have an AT&T Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge. Thanks any help will be appreciated.

You just needed to sign into the OneDrive app from the device.

the AT&T variant of both the s6 and s6 edge did not come with onedrive installed, and both are ineligible for the 100gb free.
per an AT&T rep and a Samsung rep through twitter.

The first day I got the phone, I got a notification saying "Enable camera backup and get 100GB of OneDrive storage", so I enabled it and then disabled it. Now I have 100GB of OneDrive storage.

Google Drive is live!

Google Docs has been transformed to Google Drive, which is essentially Google's answer to Dropbox and other cloud storage companies. There is an official desktop client , which behaves just like Dropbox. It comes with 5gb of storage; I hadn't looked at any other account options yet, but for my purposes, 5 gigs will suffice. For those of you that have the Google Docs application installed, you'll see it's been updated to reflect the new changes.

Its just a copy of DropBox without any feature.
They do need to implement the way that google + upload pictures....
I already have 50GB from Box and 5GB from DropBox... too late for it. Of course i have it but i just dont need it right now.
I've been paying $20 a year for storage from Google for couple years. It was an offsite backup for my photos before Google+. Glad I kept paying after + released cause now I have 85GB Drive storage!!
For some reason, I don't like the "sync" feature
I just want to access/edit/save files online only, I don't like the "sync".
I have 3GB of folders/files on Google Drive (used to be 1GB on Google Docs), I don't want to keep syncing 3GB of data to any PC every single time. Yes, I can set to not sync "folder" but not files.
I'm still a Dropbox fan. I've got this, and Microsoft SkyDrive, but I don't really use them. Just going to wait for the dust to settle and see who makes the most compelling product.
Competition is good
Wink
I've been paying for the upgraded SugarSync account and I love it. I'm willing to give this a try, especially since its slightly cheaper and a tad larger for the ugpraded gDrive account.

Box.net will probably serve your purposes pretty nicely. There's no desktop client to sync (unless you're a business customer), so you can just upload to their servers and leave them off your local computer.
There is a file size limit, however. I believe it's only 100MB or something like that.
Make sure you read, understand, and actually accept the Google ToS before you go uploading anything you care about...

Drop Box issue s3

After flashing custom rom i hav lost the 50gb drop box capacity .. it is now only 2.5gb .. how to get the 50 gb capacity back ?
Once signed up/in, go to the email account that is associated to your Dropbox account and you will have an email from Dropbox with the title “Get free Dropbox space!”. Follow the link and meet 5 of the 7 criteria on this link and you will recieve your extra 48gb of storage for your Dropbox account.

Note 10 email

Got my note 10 today - really like it so far. Size seems just right for me.
I was mildly surprised that it came preloaded with Outlook instead of the Samsung email and calendar apps. I'm guessing this is the new Samsung/Microsoft partnership in action.
I haven't used android Outlook for a couple years - it used to be a big battery suck, and I also wish I could do dark mode with it as I did with the Samsung email app. Will give it a try for a while and see how it goes.
What does everyone else think?

I just use Samsung Email on my Note 10 as I did with my Galaxy S10e
Yeah, I may go back to it. I prefer dark mode, which isn't an option on Outlook.

onedrive photo upload not working and cannot remove / reinstall apps

Not a question really but a warning I guess, idiots at samsung have messed with ONEDRIVE on this device, app cant be removed and reinstalled, also photo upload doesnt work unless you also switch gallery to onedrive, ludicrous, I hate it when samsung mess with something that works perfectly well and makes it much more complicated to use.
actually its also broken photo upload altogether, there is no photo upload in settings and if I enable onedrive in gallery it doesnt upload anything, ffs
When you start up phone, it asked for Samsung to access Onedrive. Don't do it, or disable it. My Onedrive works perfect and backs up my photos perfectly. Had this issue on S20 and this fixed that also. Sammy is dropping the web storage so might as well do it now.
it works if you enabled it gallery but it pumps the photos to a new folder in onedrive instead of camera roll, super annoying, there is no way at all to use the normal method.
oddly however i've also lost it on my older S10, not really sure whats going on here now, I just want to install ONEDRIVE, turn on photo upload and have done with it, what is this gallery nonesense, is this a new thing thats changed recently for ONEDRIVE/SAMSUNG gallery / phones?

how do I now disable that without completely re-setting up my phone?
From an internet search:
1. Open settings on your device.
2. Go to Accounts and Backup.
3. Go to Samsung Cloud.
4. There should be a setting there that refers to connected apps/services/accounts.
5. Select OneDrive and then select disconnect.
thanks but I already tried that, its not in that list
Try this:
How do I Disconnect my Samsung Gallery from OneDrive?
To disconnect your Samsung Gallery from OneDrive If you want to stop the Samsung Gallery app syncing photos to OneDrive and remove the Samsung data sharing permissions to your Microsoft Account, you'll need to edit how you sign-in to Microsoft: Open your Microsoft Account's Additional security options. Next to Samsung account, select Remove.
i managed to get cameron upload option back by removed both outlook and onedrive accounts and wiping data, however it doesnt work, and oddly the phone is storing these acounts somewhere as I didnt have to logon again, it just added the accounts again, even though i removed them.

thanks but i'm seeing no such options in accounts on my phone.
feck it, doing a factory reset, I still have my S10 to do another smart switch from.
That's all well and good, but search your Microsoft account using your computer more thoroughly. If you don't disconnect it from there, it will probably try and reconnect even with the reset.
what do you mean search you microsoft account using your computer, where are you talking about exactly?
Where I posted above, You need to go to your "Microsoft account" to unlink Samsung, or it will grab it again. Just easier to do from a computer. I'm not talking on the phone/accounts... I'm saying directly at Microsoft, same as Google, Apple.... There you find all your allowed connections, sharing, devices, privacy....
thanks for your help but you are being too vague, exactly where do I need to look and what do I need to unlink / remove?
i found what you meant now in this article, addition secutiry options link further down, its impossible to find this in my actual account anywhere though.
