Here is the VZW lollipop kdz. Got it from the LG Phone From app

Did you try it? If so, what version did you try from?
Thank you, @bigshotrob22!

This isn't an OTA file, it's a KDZ which overwrites anything you have on your phone no matter what, using LG Mobile Tool 2014 on a Windows PC to flash it.

I understood, I am on 23b and I didn't want to go back to 12 or 10 to go up to another "unofficial release", but if this flashes directly with no problem I may be more inclined to try it out.
this is the official OTA
This is it , finally we have the OTA , I checked and my official
Firmware is now 23c. Use the LG phone from app

Yes you can flash directly without rolling back.
Anyone try rooting and TWRP? I assume it's possible, based on the leaks, but not ready to wipe everything until I know.
TIA.

Has anyone tried that with this update? I would like to go straight from 23A to this 23C but I don't want to screw up my phone. This will be the first time I've used the LG Mobile tool.

Technically you can 'update' from 23A, but it's a KDZ so you will lose all data on your internal storage.

That works for me because I'm not worried about my data on the phone since I have an LG backup. I'll try it this weekend.
Question
Can I flash the 23C_01 Lollipop KDZ, then manually (dd commands) flash the bumped 23C kernel then manually flash TWRP 2860 and be ok or will I get the secure boot error?

I rooted via this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/guide-root-method-lg-devices-t3049772
I used the Windows drivers here (half-way down the page): http://www.lg.com/us/support-mobile/lg-VS985-Metallic-Black
I loaded Verizon upgrade assistant and it says I have an upgrade available even though I have 23A loaded on my phone. In the version column, it says 23A. Does mean that's the upgrade or what is on my phone already.

I'd have to see it myself to be able to tell you. What I can tell you is that the 23C_01 KDZ has at least some different files than the 23C "OTA" leak we were using on here.
So if you're on the 23C that was available before the last 24 hours, it's not the same 23C. Similar, not identical.

I doubt if you'd be able to see the difference, but there's definitely technical differences. Example: the 23C_01 modem.img is 7 MB smaller than the one from the 23C leak we had.

Well guys I ****ed up. In the process of trying to flash the lollipop firmware, I bricked my phone. At first I wasnt that mad knowing I could use the LG Flash Tool to return to the stock firmware. I had done this once before and my phone was able to function again. The problem im having this time is that, even after loading the lg g3 verizon drivers, device manager displays the phone as in the screenshots, not under ports like its supposed to. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated seeing as I am currently without my phone and its killing me.
This is what device manager displays.

When you get a chance, see if you have any other DLL files in your lg flash tool folder besides megalock.
While toting yesterday I had to pull another dll out of my backup folder. Maybe its in the op's drive folder and I overlooked it, but the flash tool definantly didn't install it and its the target dll not megalock.

I'm currently on 11c rooted with TWRP and want to take OTAs to get up to lollipop - I don't really care about custom roms. I found graffixnyc's recovery switcher for doing this, so I went hunting for the 11c recovery image, but the reference page here doesn't have a recovery listed for 11c. Does that mean 11c uses the 10b recovery?
I don't know the answer to your question, but I was just wondering if you would consider dirty flashing the 12B KDZ (use Normal mode instead of CSE in LG Mobile Tool 2014), then you can OTA to 23B and still keep your data if that's your main aim. You'd have to reroot, however, once on Lollipop, if that's what you want. Then you'd have to downgrade the aboot.img (bootloader) to 12B's in order to flash TWRP back on it.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, I'm new to tinkering with the G3 (my daily driver is a Nexus 6), is a tot file the same as an OTA zip, or is it more of a factory image equivalent? I don't particularly want to root or install TWRP. I just wanted to use the stock reovery "apply update via ADB"

You may want to re-word this. TWRP works just fine on 35B.
Also, although not as easy, I recall reading one or two people possibly installing it some way on rooted 35B in a way that it worked without a secure boot error - I'd have to search to verify that though and I don't remember what they did to do so.
Dunno why you need a computer. I rooted my 35b without one.

Rooted 24b with TWRP recovery. Hooked it up to the computer and let the Verizon tool update it. Lost root, system still said modified. Then when King Root was available, it did that to get root on 35b. I also did the SuperSU script to get rid of King Root. Took maybe 5 minutes start to finish. No downgrading.

Anyone who had root and TWRP on a release prior to 35B and flashed a pre-rooted 35B ROM is using TWRP just fine. I've seen a few people say something about TWRP having to be made compatible with 35B and that's not the case. It works just fine with it. It's even easy to install, it just requires more work than simply installing TWRP to either/or actually be able to use it or keep your system booting, or both, I forget the exact experience.
As far as a way to install it in a working manner on 35B, as I said:

I figured that, but you asked where was the TWRP that was working on 35B. You're not alone, several people have asked about a version of TWRP that was compatible, or worked with 35B. For anyone who reads these questions and doesn't know any better, it makes it sound like the latest TWRP doesn't work on 35B, when in fact it does.

i dont see any reason i couldnt put twrp on rooted 35b the same way i did on the first L build.
i really dont see the point in doing it or posting about it though. you guys have a working method and that should be enough.
there was too much user error leading to confusion before, and there is no need for all that again when you have a more fail safe working method.

First, have you checked to see if @bender_007 has an updated autorec app made specifically for 35B in his thread in non-Verizon G3 General? I haven't checked or heard news lately. Don't install any that say they're for 23C or 24B.
Otherwise, the easiest way is to downgrade, re-root and install TWRP an easier way than possible under 35B. I recommend the 10B KDZ because you can still root it with the Stump app in brute force mode and just use TWRP Manager to install TWRP.

Flash 24B what? KDZ? No, you can't flash a KDZ with anything but LG's tools (including the hacked LG Flash Tools 2014. The all-in-one toolkit doesn't do anything that all the separately maintained methods don't do. It just gives a central location to all those individual tools, but you still would be using the same tools.

I don't know what you mean. What 24B TWRP? TWRP versions aren't specific to different LG builds. The TWRP v2.8.7.0 that works with 35B is the same one that works with 24B. The difference is the method of installing.
If the author of the all-in-one says that his tool will install TWRP fine on 35B, then that's between him and you. I don't use the tool so I can't tell you. That's a question better asked in his thread.
Oh alright yeah Idk if the all in one does or not I'd have ask.

Also, the problem isn't precisely installing TWRP, it's other things that need done in order to do so. Fastboot wouldn't make a difference.
Installed Recovery From Flashify, Now I can Boot Into Recovery. The Red and Blue Led lights blink and screen is black. All i can do is restart and boot normally. I am on VS98535B .. Android 5.1.1.

Thanks. I am actually trying it now. But when I got to flash to stock I get "VSB98546A is not supported."
I also tried LG flash tool, set the port to 41, and I get an error "Download FAIL!!. Model information check fail.".
I used these files:
LGVS985_20140620_LGFLASHv160.dll
VS98510B_03.tot

I'll try using a different computer later
Tried with an older computer 32bit with usb 2.0 and it did the same thing. Toolkit said "VSB98546A is not supported," also tried the toolkit to instal twrp and it gave the same warning. LG flash tool fails because of model check. When you scroll up next to model is blank.
I also tried flashing a kdz using lg flash tool 2014 and it was jsut question marks. The status bar would go across on screen then nothing. Nothing ever changed on phone.
First things first. With the phone in download mode and connected to the PC via USB, when you look in Windows' Device Manager, do you see the phone listed in the Modem section?

The only KDZs you can flash from stock 46A are 35B or 47A. If you want to get to where you can easily root and install TWRP, you'll have to flash the 10B TOT using the .DLL that's extracted from the 35B KDZ, then root using the Stump app and use TWRP Manager from the Play Store to flash TWRP. Then you can flash whatever bootstack and ROM you want.
You can get the 10B TOT and 35B .DLL from my Android File Host link at the bottom of @annoyingduck's stickied return to stock thread in the General section. You'll have to Google for the software to flash TOTs.

Thanks. I tried that too and got "model information check fail." I used these files:
LGVS985_20140620_LGFLASHv160.dll Is this the right dll file?
VS98510B_03.tot
I did more reading and it seems not using an LG cable can cause this. I tried with many brands but don't have an LG cable. If those are the correct files I guess my next step is to order an LG cable.

I can't tell by the filename alone if it's the right file. You can compare to what I have on Android File Host (link in the thread I mentioned).
The TOT file is likely correct. Yes, I always recommend using the original USB cable for flashing. Hopefully that's your solution.
Thanks so much for your help. Looks like I was using the wrong dll file. I used the one in this post below and it worked right away.

I had the same problem and was able to flash an old rom using the LG flashtool, here is a guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2772199
But I had to use this dll file:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=63266194&postcount=84
After my phone reset during the flash it displayed 2 on the screen and did not pass. Just go into your PC's device manager and recheck the com port and change it back to 41. Mine changed as the phone reset during the flash process. Once I changed it back to 41 the flash resumed and the displayed 3 on the phone and the computer said pass.
MY Problem Has Been Recoverd By Flashing 35B KDZ using LG FLASH TOOL 2014. Easy and not need of any DLL file. Now i am on 47A using KDZ.
Thanks everyone
