Just came back from Best Buy where i like to get my screen protectors installed. I like paying for it to be done because of their 30 day window of infinite retrys lol. Thing is, ive never had to take it back to get it redone because every single time i leave the store with them flawless. No bubbles to let 'settle' or any runs to let 'settle'. This time though, im not so happy with the initial product.
He claimed that this version of Invisashield is a gel application different than the usual liquid application I'm used to, and claims its prone to initial settle bubbles and runs. I usually get them done at the mobile section of Best Buy, but they were swamped so i went to geek squad to have it done. Was this a mistake? Do you guys think this will settle in a day or so? I have no problem going back and getting it redone, i just don't want to hurt the guys feelings. I wanted to show it to friends tomorrow at work, but with a gnarly screen protector, im reluctant.
I attached some picutres taking from my OLD Note 4
That looks terrible can't really see from the pictures but looks like dust was on the screen when it was applied, if it's just air you might clear it using a glasses cleaner and the corner of a credit card. But I think I would take it back to be redone rather than void any warranty.
Good luck Tony
Thanks for the reply. I know screen protectors do get bubbles during instalation and they do settle. I've just never had to experience that with the last 4 invisashield HD I've had on previous phones.

mate take them off and start again with new one that is dust ive fitted lots of them i always by 5 i know the 1st 2 or 3 will do that
This is slightly off-topic but does it cover the whole screen? If so, I'm guessing by your comment above it is the HD model? I'm really only good at tempered glass installs so I really need someone with more experience to install one for me.

I was just wondering around and found this: http://www.ghost-armor.com/HTC/717.html
i was actually surprised to see our devices were supported since we dont have otterbox or seidio.
has anyone tried this?
There are a couple references to the product if you search. I wish there was a kiosk in Houston. I would try one if it was installed by someone who has done it dozens of times. I doubt I could get it right on my own and good installation is key to these things looking good.

I have owned Ghost Armor on my old TP2 and my current Dinc.
As far as the back cover goes, I really don't see how much it really protects. Just basically lets you keep the same feel of your phone and look (clear protector) and protects from scratches.
The screen protector, I feel is one of the best available. If you install it correctly you barely know it's there.
As a test I took my Touch Pro 2 and rubbed the screen all over the cement sidewalk, the screen was still the same as when I bought it used. Also makes scratches on your screen disappear. The ghost armor seems to go back to its normal form and it was left almost brand new with faint scratches. I recommend it to anyone.
And, they offer a life time guarantee no matter what. Just pay shipping/install fee.
How do you guys like your Amaze? I'm looking to buy one and switch to t-mobile, as I'm on PagePlus and can get more for the same price.
And as for the price of the "Stick Plastic" It is fairly expensive $20 for the screen, but you can replace it as much as you want. I normally got a new one every 2-3 months just for the heck of it. It doesn't leave your screen with anything sticky either.

Yeah if their put on right they're amazing, nearly invisible.
Worth the money all the way. When you go to sell the phone a lot of the time the main selling point is the screen. Back cases can always be replaced and cases cover up sides.
Nice to see a fellow houstonian on the board! My brother ordered it for his GS2 - very simply install! He did it himself.

I was talking about Ghost Armor. They have kiosks too.
A little late on this one, but I would like to say I am happy with my Ghost Armor.
I was in SF and they have a kiosk at the Serramonte Mall. So I happen to be in town with my new Amaze and I first went looking for Zagg because I had great experience with them. But the 2 locations I called didn't have anything available in stock for the Amaze.
So I was walking the mall and saw Ghost Armor. 15 bux for the front screen protector and 5 bux to install. I figure I would let the guy put it on. He put it on and baked the phone for a little bit and it came out looking fantastic. It feels great and I would recommend them. They also say the material is forever warrantied. And as long as you have most of it left, you can bring it to a kiosk and pay 5 bux and they will install a new piece of armor. And I am going to assume that is pending availability of the product.

do they actually "bake" it? i dont like the sound of that lol
They put it in a type of air circulation box, not really baking it, but speeding up the process of evaporating the water they used to apply the protector.
Sent from my HTC_Amaze_4G using XDA
it does seem to somewhat "bake" it though. the box circulates air but it also produces a certain amount of warmth, kinda get iffy whenever I have a replacement screen protector applied.
that said, it works far better than zagg (which ive used for all of my previous devices) the only downside is that it produces small visible dents in the screen protector after time, none that inhibit the safety of the device but do take away from the aesthetic of the screen.

Bake was probably the wrong word... They do put it in some sort of box and the phone does come out warm. They do turn the phone off before applying the screen protector. The warmth of the phone from the treatment would be similar how warm a phone gets after some extensive usage.

So my 2 day old Note has a hairline scratch that is only visible with the screen off in the right light. I am told that if I get this screen protector it will more than likely hide the scratch, and obviously prevent new ones. I'm curious to hear if others have this and like it. I have never used a screen protector because I don't like the way they look and feel, but apparently this screen is very easily scratched, despite me only keeping it in my pocket by itself.

Yes the Zagg or any Zagg type screen protector will make any light scratch invisible. I was the guy who posted about a scratch . Anyways my Zagg came in like a day after it happened, I put it on and I cant even see the scratch.

Yes it does and it kinda sucks, I always buy BSE skins (Best skins ever) but they only have the international version atm.
Have the Zagg Dry Invisi-Shield installed on mine, front and back protection, and both he dry and wet install shields leave little indented marks when you use the s-pen because they are soft. At first its barely noticeable but the little grooves build up over time. Just something to consider, depending on how much you use the s-pen.

I wish they would have just left the s pen off because I'm never going to use it. It should just be a smartphone, not even tablets come with stylist pens now days. Oh well, I'm still really enjoying the phone. Can't wait for ICS to come out and fix the stutter/non responsive bugs when flipping through home pages.
Check ebay. It's cheaper and free shipping.

I went to Best Buy and and exchanged the phone for a new one because of the scratch and bought the InvisibleShield. I'm not crazy about the Orange Peel look, but it's better than the scratched screen look.
i have the shield on mine as well........after having the rocket for 5 months and not having a case nor a screen protector i had to get one for the notes awsome screen.
and the S-pen is Great. i use it for texting and everything. the write to text is pretty accurate and fast when you get used to it. my only gripe is that with the Zagg shield the pen does not flow quite as smoothly so it hickups here and there when not applying just the right amount of pressure.
I actually wish that it had the physical home button like the Intl version. I saw some neat tips and tricks -such as disable touch screen -which would be great for movies, etc -especially with children...
I went with the Rearth Ringbo screen cover. Cant comment since I ordered it this AM.

I was 1 click away from ordering that. I ended up with the SGP because I didn't know which was better. I haven't done screen protector shopping in a while. Is the Rearth better than
SGP?
I just learned after buying the Invisible Shield that even though they offer a lifetime "free" replacement, it costs $4 for them to ship it to you and you have to pay to ship it back. In what world is that free?
I bought the invisible sheild today from bestbuy. Not really liking how it feels "tacky" compared to the slick glass. Something to keep in mind when considering purchasing it.

I bought the Zagg tonight, installed it and thought I had it on perfect! Was all proud of myself. Went to go turn the screen on and all these rainbow colors and weird looking dots all over between the screen and shield! I was so pissed. I think I sprayed too much of their liquid on. I should have just paid Best Buy to install. What a waste of money. $22 down the drain.
bought some screen protectors on Amazon to get here Thursday and then 6x off of eBay. I don't care if I have to replace one a month. I'm not spending $20 anymore on one screen protector.
Zagg has also started making an HD version of there screen protector, this one does not give you the orange peel look like the old ones. Right now i think it is only for the Iphone but give it some time they will probity start making them all like that.
I just bought a One yesterday and wanted to know if everyone has any opinions on getting a screen protector. I don't plan on throwing my phone around with a bunch of quartz sand or anything, but I have had scratches on my Note 2 and GS3.

I know you'll get the random comment telling you that it's not necessary, but think about it: you've spent already about $600 on this phone, you should treat it as an investment. A good screen protector could set you back $25 in the mall is it really worth to skip on it when you've already spent that much already on your phone anyways?
I always place a screen protector on all my phones on day 1, regardless of gorilla glass or anti scratch technology on the screen, I'm not their QA department, I don't get paid to test their features.
Hope this comment enlightens you.

Yeah buy a new couch too then wrap it in plastic. Wouldn't want to ruin it.. I mean you'll probably get another couch in a year but why enjoy the natural feel when you can protect your investment?

Yes. I have a scratch on the bottom portion of the screen. It's not noticeable when the screen is on, though. But I know it's a scratch since I rub over it and feel a slight bump. =.S
But that Tmo JUMP will have me getting the HTC One Max later on this year. I'll put a screen protector on that. I don't want scratches. LoL!!
So get a screen protector. I don't even know how I got the scratch. I don't put it in my pocket with anything else. Oh well...
Bought my wife and I matching Ones. $1200 in phones and you'd better believe I put on screen protectors. Whether or not the phone actually needs it, I'd rather be proactive and have piece of mind.

Do you all put that mask on your car to prevent it from getting dirty? Or do you go out and MAKE sure the car has mud flaps? I mean, I understand, but there are somethings I don't try to hard to protect.
Even though screen protectors, are pretty cheap, so it's not that hard to invest in one. Though I wouldn't spend no $20 on a screen protector. I'd just get a $1. I'm just too lazy to get them. LoL!!
And now I have a scratch on my screen. =.P
But I don't really care too much. I'm probably not going to put a screen protector on the HTC One Max when I pick that up. LoL!! (if the rumors are true)
I don't know if you guys know about RhinoShield, they make great screen protectors.
They started a new kickstarter campaign for an awesome case, problem is, it is currently only for the iphone community. I spoke with them and they said, if enough people want it for the nexus 6, they will look into making for the nexus 6.
Here is a link to their campaign so you guys can check them out:
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1081571316/rhinosheild-crash-guard-slim-impact-bumper-for-iph
Pre-order page can be found here:
RhinoShield Crash Guard
If enough people like this case/ willing to try it, I will send them a message letting them know we want this case!
That looks great. I usually love having bumpers on my phone. I would get that if it was available for the Nexus 6.
I would definitely buy one

Definitely in if they make one for N6.
count me down for one also
Sounds like a great product. Hopefully they make a case for the nexus 6
Won't be buying it, as i really don't like the design. Sure, if you drop your phone from up high, and it lands on a flat surface, like on their video, it will surely work.
Now picture a drop on something protruding, that'd hit the back of the phone: what'll there be to dampen the shock? Not the bumper, as it's only on the sides. So the shock will be transmitted to the insides of the phone, where something will possibly break.
And the optional transparent backcover won't change anything to that: it works with screens, because it rigidifies them, preventing the vibration caused by the shock, which is what actually makes glass shatter. Such a thing doesn't prevent energy from being transmitted: it actually helps energy transmission, and just alleviates the consequences on something as fragile as glass. On the back, the best it'd prevent is mere scratches.
Last thing: I have troubles with taking seriously any promise of protection when the very obvious dust covers (which I happen to need) happen to lack...
So, really: no, not interested at all.
I'm interested. All I ever want is a good bumper. Although only if it was released on a timely manner. I'm not interested if it took 6 months.
THEY HAVE A PRE-ORDER PAGE UP! If enough people pre-order, they'll start making them.

I think I'm gonna give it a shot based on the look of the one they made for the iPhone.
I'd like to see it first as well. Wonder if it's only going to be the bumper or have a plastic back too since the phone has a curve to it.
Also, kind of sucks it's more then the iPhone ones on the Kickstart page. There you can pledge the £12 ($19.19) and get one. Be cool if they offered the combo pack, bumper and screen protector, like they do on the Kickstart page.
What I would be worried about is the curved back of the Nexus 6. How would a bumper protect the back if it is stick out beyond the bumper?

My same thoughts, I had their screen protectors on my nexus 4 when I had it. Dropped the phone from top bunk without a case(about 7ft), it landed flat and had no damage. The screen protector had some scratches and dents from stuff on the ground but peeled it off and screen was like new.
Render update?
Anyone have any additional news on this?
I was hoping to see a render of the product this week.
I personally like a screen protector I like knowing the screen is protected from life's little mishaps. I just ordered http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00LOZJ290/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 we will see how they are. I usually prefer a matte protector but seeing as I am unlikely to be using the tab outside for the next few months ( I live in the northeast ) I figured I would try something new. I will let people know what I think of them after I get them. I am currently using one from a different model tablet that I have cut to fit.
What about you guys are you using a screen protector yes or no if yes what brand and is it any good?
Got the protectors day before yesterday went on pretty well not the best I have ever used but far from the worst. Very clear, so far very happy with them.
