Hey Guys, Yesterday i made a Factory Reset because of some stability problems. Now there is no OTA for the newest Firmware. What can i do without Root?
Thanks
Factory reset wouldn't get rid of OTA if you previously already updated.

I'm thinking about how i want to go about having my ICS experience when the GSM OTA finally arrives. I've decided i want to start with a totally unmodified ICS phone. z Will voodoo temp unroot, then immediate factory reset give me a completely stock phone? I've never flashed this GSM phone, only routed and OTA updated to the latest 2.6 from Moto.

No, it will not, as the system doesn't wipe everything, it just wipes data. To unroot:
1. Download SuperSu from the market.
2. Delete Superuser from /system/app
3.Go into Supersu and in the far right, select "Permanent Unroot".
You're unrooted.:good:
Thank you!
Hi folks, i have a weird question.
I had v10h firmware rooted and then according to tutorial i upgraded to v20b still keeping root. So my question is, can i perform factory reset again without loosing root?
tapatapa z P760
Install voodoo rootkeeper and back up your root. You should still be rooted after factory reset. But it's never sure. You can do the same with supersu app, it keeps toot.
Sent from my HUAWEI MediaPad using xda premium
Thanks, ive done factory reset without using this apps. I just entered the hidden menu and tapped on factory reset without loosing root.

Just flash the latest fastboot files and you will get everything back.
Factory resetting will just remove user installed programs, it doesn't touch system.

Just a quick question...
If I take an OTA update will it factory reset my phone?
I had my S4 flashed from verizon to pageplus by Viper and I don't want to loose that flash, but an update would be nice.
Thanks,
PEZ
A friend of mine has a Verizon GS4 and is trying to run the OTA update, but for some reason his device status is Custom so the update won't go through. He's fine doing a factory reset. Are the Lollipop files available yet, and, if so, is it possible to flash them without being rooted or having any recovery installed whatsoever?
Basically, can a Verizon GS4 have 100% stock Lollipop flashed over an existing 4.4.2 installation without custom anything?
lollipop files aren't even out yet, nobody captured the ota
best to probably odin back to a 4.4.2 ROM so you can start off clean
