I'm trying to Install CyanogenMod on my new Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet (WiFi) without bricking it. I am following this tutorial.
I've installed the drivers from the flashtool package and I've managed to unlock it.
Now I'm in ClockworkMod Recovery. I did a wipe. "wipe data/factory reset" didn't work, so I used the "format /data and /data/media"
Now I'm trying to transfer the installation package and adb is saying "device not found". But the drivers were installed successfully, otherwise fastboot would not have worked before to unlock it.
What should I do?
I've managed to find a way not listed there. I've put the zip file on my micro sd card, and I was able to install from there.

I just got my new HTC One M6 and now I can't get it rooted. Additionally, I seem to have messed up the internal storage because I get errors when I try to do anything in TWRP and I can't get supersu to install in twrp either. I can't even get anything to show up in any of the folders while in recovery.
Here's info on my phone and what I've done so far:
1) hboot v1.56
2) got unlock token from htcdev and unlocked successfully
3) flashed TWRP 2.6.3.0 recovery using Squabbi's HTC One Toolkit.
4) tried to install supersu using the toolkit and then tried putting supersu.zip on the sdcard manually. Neither worked and resulted in lots of error messages in TWRP.
4) tried to wipe data and everything else but this failed too.
Attached in this e-mail is a screenshot of the error messages i get in twrp when trying to wipe. Any ideas on what I can do to fix the internal storage so I can actually root my htc one?
Hey guys I'm running Kitkat 4.4.2 on my HTC Desire 601, and I'm needing a little bit of rooting help.
I have managed to unlock my HTC Desire 601's boot loader using philz_touch_6.12.8-zara. However, I've run into a small problem. The final step in rooting my phone isn't working. The guide says to download SuperSU zip (which I've done) and place it onto your micro SD card on your phone (I did this). Then, boot into recovery mode and install SuperSU.
Here's the problem:
No matter what I do, when I boot into the philz' recovery mode and try to install SuperSU from my SD card, the SuperSU zip file doesn't show up. However, if I plug my phone back into the computer and check my SD card, my computer shows that the SuperSU zip file is in fact, still on the SD card.
So am I doing something wrong?
Cwm is for jb. Flash twrp http://forum.xda-developers.com/des...recovery-twrp-2-8-0-0-touch-recovery-t2874948 then reboot to twrp. Select "reboot" then select "system". It will ask u if u want to be rooted via supersu. Say yes. Thats it. U can check if ur phone is rooted via the app called root checker
I have a Asus TF300T that I had BakedBeans on, until I tried to flash to KatKiss. I tried this on TWRP 2.6.0.0 (current version of TWRP installed on my tablet) I saw that it was unable to flash, so I researched and I was told I need the newest version of TWRP to install the KatKiss rom.
Since I have no OS on the tablet (wiped when I tried to install KatKiss), and when I plug my tablet to my pc I get "unrecognized usb device", I am limited to using the external card to do any modifications to the tablet.
I went and got the newest version of TWRP and tried to install it through the TWRP manager, but it says "select zip to install" and the file is a .blob (I don't know how to update TWRP through the main menu I guess)
I have no idea what I should do. I would like a new rom for my tablet, but I will be ok with reverting back to an older rom if that is not possible.
What should I do?
using bootloader version 10.4.2.20-20121228 please help
I managed to find an old version of BakedBeans and installed it, but I can't figure out a way to update to the newest version of TWRP without using the PC USB method, help please.
bumping back to the first page
after rooting my lenovo tb2-x30f with adb i needed to wipe my tablet (because i installed xposed framework incorrectly) but i mistakenly clicked advanced wipe and wiped the system so it says "no OS installed, are you sure you want to reboot", so i browsed the internet for a way of fixing this: i found two options, to install a custom rom or to restore from a backup (as you cannot flash the stock rom- i tried). seeing as i did not have a backup i attempted to sideload an unofficial lineageOS rom for my tablet with adb sideloader (using the adb sideload option on TWRP as this was my only choice), this installed to approximately 62% and then said "total xfer: 1.34x", my tablet rebooted to a black screen but sounds playing as i lock/unlock the device and increase/decrease the volume. how do i get my tablet running normally again? is that even possible anymore?:fingers-crossed:
(sorry if posting in the wrong place)
Background:
A few months, after receiving my Mi Note 10 Lite Miui 11 to 12 update, I finally rooted the phone using the Magisk patched boot method. All fine.
A while ago, with the latest MIUI 12 minor update we got, I lost root again. Now I wanted to root it again, and tried to find if there was already a working TWRP for this phone.
What happened:
After googling a bit, I found a post on XiaomiEU that had instructions to install a working TWRP (to install the rom). So I followed the steps, flashing vbmeta and the twrp image. Rebooted to recovery and as it was installed, I rebooted to system. After that, the first problem. It would only boot the twrp, not system.
To fix this, I got the latest stock fastboot rom and installed it via miFlash (with flash_all_but_storage option). Managed to boot again to Miui. After doing the google restoring steps, I found out that all my internal storage files were encrypted.
What I've tried so far:
formatted data (not internal storage and data/media) and tried again
installed a different TWRP I found here in XDA that supposedly would decrypt the files (twrp-3.4.0-14-toco-mauronofrio). It asks for the encryption password when starting and I get a success message when entering the right password, but even in the recovery file manager the files are encrypted.
installing recovery rom through TWRP without formatting data
(side note: on system, the Xiaomi Cloud restore seems to be always stuck without restoring anything and there is no way to stop it)
Can anyone please help me get my files (photos and videos, more importantly) back? Is there any hope? The files are there and I know the password, there must be something I can do...
Thanks in advance
Do you want to keep MIUI or go to a custom rom ?
