[Q] Issue with installing mod/adb/SDcard/drivers - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi folks,
I previously managed to get Cyanagenmod installed on my HTC One X but since made a mess of it trying to get a stock ROM on there (to unlock my SIM). I have since given up on getting a stock ROM back on there and am now trying to get Cyanogenmod back on there, but I have hit some problems.
I have CWM on there and my PC can see the phone in Fastboot, but not via ADB (which I am trying to use to 'push' the ROM on there so I can install it). My PC (Win 8.1) is giving me a "device descriptor request failed" when connecting to USB when on the boot menu, and is showing up just as "One" in device manager when I load CWM. However neither of these situations are allowing my computer or ADB to recognise the SD card.
I have tried 'mounting' it in CWM, updating drivers through device manager, installing Sync (and uninstalling/reinstalling it), installing HTCDriver_4.10.0.001.msi all to no avail.
Does anyone have any advice to get my PC to recognise my phone or otherwise get a customer ROM installed (if there is another way.)
Thanks in advance all.

[Q] Factory Reset on Mac?

Ok...I've searched all over and can't seem to find the answer.
Question - "How can I get my phone back to factory (out of the box) settings on a Mac Computer or Parallels?"
Current Settings - I am rooted, I have ROM Manager, Super User Permissions, Root Explorer and a Custom Rom (Fusion).
Attempts - I have downloaded ODIN, install all the necessary drivers, have booted up Parallels and have have been able to mount my phone and view files on Parallels. I have opened up ODIN and it has recognized my phone when it is ON.
Dilemma - I have gone through the steps given to us by the nice ODIN video tutorial. However, once I access download mode on my phone my Parallels gives me a pop up that says it is unable to connect the device to the USB. I have tried this over and over about 30x, still I cannot get it to recognize the phone while in download mode.
*So, can someone provide me with a solution? Either via MAC or Parallels? I'd like to get my phone back original settings soon, thanks.

[Q] Bricked Tablet, won't connect to PC

I have read through every thread here on brick recover, and none addresses my specific problem.
I have a Verizon LTE Tab.
I installed Rom Manager and flashed Clockwork recovery. As everyone now knows, this bricked the tab.
I have found instructions in various places for flashing a new recovery through Odin3. However, I cannot get my tablet to connect to my PC. I put it in Downloading mode and connect it to my computer. At that point, the computer starts automatically installing drivers because it thinks the tablet is a Samsung CMDA modem. I cannot force it to install the correct drivers, I cannot update the drivers, and I cannot manually add the hardware.
Thus, although Odin3 recognizes a connection, it gets stuck at SetupConnection every time I try to flash a new recovery to it.
Any suggestions? Please help!
I had the same problem with my laptop + my home desktop. I cannot get either of them to recognize my tab. Fortunately for me, my work PC does. I have no idea what the difference is. They are all running Windows 7 Pro 64bit.

[Q] 'No os installed' error on my HTC One

So I accidentally deleted everything on my phone (including all the backups on TWRP) because I'm a dumbass. It says I have 'no os installed', so I'm currently trying to adb push a Rom or Stock RUU into my phone, but I can't because my pc isn't reading the HTC Drivers.
When I turn on my phone, I'm stuck in the HTC boot logo. I can still access the bootloader/recovery, though. So basically, I'm stuck and I don't know what else to do to save my phone :/
Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated. :good:
Get the driver situation sorted out then push a rom back to your phone. Failing that, get an otg cable and flash drive and install a rom from that.

[Q] Computer recognizes Sasmung GS3 as a camera, not a Phone

Hello,
I'm trying to connect my Samsung GS3 to my computer to use with the Android SDK Manager and the ADB console, but when I connect it to my computer it recognizes it as a Camera and ADB doesn't recognize it either, how do I fix this?
I'm locked out of my phone and trying to unlock it using methods from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2620456. So I have no interaction with my phone beyond the locksreen to change from PTP to MTP as I've seen people with similair problems suggest. Is their a workaround?

Since you're already looking in the right place, consider installing a custom recovery (such as philz) with odin and then flash the zip.
Thanks for the help. I was finally able to get my computer to recognize the GS3 (Installed Samsung USB Drivers from their website instead of Kies). But now after it recognizes that I have new hardware installed, when I try to use the Wizard to automatically install the drivers I get the error: "The required section was not found in the inf", did some searching and realized that this is due to not having the wpdmtp.inf file on your computer. I've checked and it is indeed missing, does anyone now of a way to install this file?
I'm still locked out of my phone. And I don't have an SD Card to install recovery and flash the zip as dxppxd suggested.

Take another shot by booting into a custom recovery, most give you adb access while in recovery.
If the phone is locked with usb debugging disabled you won't be able to get adb access.

Stock ROM for Samsung Core 2 !!!

Hello, my friend wanted Android 5.0 on his device (Samsung Core 2). He installed it from the SD card and got an error saying: "Application Installer has stopped working". And there is an option Okay. If I press it it just gives me the same error and behind the error message is only a black screen. He can't use his phone at all. He doesn't know much about android phones, computers and technology in general. He asked me if I could fix it. Now I know that I have to install a stock ROM (4.2.2) on the device. I downloaded ODIN and the Stock firmware for the device. Extracted both ODIN and Stock Firmware. Now the problem is when I try plugging the device in my PC. My PC doesn't recognize the device. So I downloaded Samsung USB drivers from "developer. samsung. com/galaxy/others/android-usb-driver-for-windows" . I installed them restarted my PC and I still get the error message. If I put my phone to download mode it won't even start recognizing the device. If I turn off my device and plug it in (starts charging the device) and I get an message that the drivers are being installed and then it says Drivers failed to install device failed to connect. Is there anyway I can make my device recognizable. I can't flash stock ROM because I don't have an SD card reader. Is there any method that I could use or just something I could do to install stock ROM and get this device to work.
Thank you in advance.
