Hey guys, I've had my Z3V for a few weeks now and its great !! Only issue I've had so far is that texts seem so problems sending when I'm in stamina mode. Its kinda hit or miss. I've read on a few Z3 t-mobile forums that you can turn off VoLTE but I have't seen where to do that on the Z3V. Anyone figure out how to fix this ?? BTW I'm using google hangouts to do SMS/MMS.

I have that exact issue with the exact same scenario. I have tried countless settings in my phone with no success. I am sure there are others with issues. Hopefully other people can chime in.
I used stamina mode for a few weeks, texts using textra acted like normal. Im off the stamina mode. I think regular mode does just as good on battery
Hey guys, I have used Google voice for years. It requires a data connection to complete my texts. Go into Settings->Battery and click stamina mode, not ultra stamina mode. Untick the extended standby option. I leave stamina mode on and it works just like it does out of stamina mode but restricts the devices performance without sacrificing your connection.

Hi all!
I have an international version of the S3 with a weird problem.
When I have Wifi connected my phone can't sign in to Google talk and wont receive notifications. I can browse and download stuff though.
If i switch to 3G all is well and working. I have tested on different networks and I have a galaxy tab 10.1 connected to the same wifi without problems so it's no ports in the firewall that's causing it.
If I restart the phone it works for about a day then it fails again and I have to restart the phone to get G-talk over wifi.
I have tried setting the phone a static IP, switched "Keep wifi on during sleep" on and off, tried the trick with power saving in debug menu but nothing helps.
Has anyone experienced the same and can someone maybe suggest a fix?
Best regards
Erik
I have tried IM+ and that works perfectly over wifi. The problem is that since GTalk does not work over wifi then I don't get notifications from Google Play or other apps as well. When i switch over to 3G I get all notifications at once.

There is nothing wrong with your phone. Google are having problems at the moment:

So don't go do any impact testing or aerodynamic analysis of your phone, it should all come back to life soon

The problem is that it have been this way since I got the phone, not just yesterday.
This is a simple trick I use when I am near a computer anyway to save battery life. Its so simple it hurts. And I'm sure most already know how.
Go to settings>accounts&sync > turn off auto sync. There you go.
I usually do not charge my phone for couple days unless I get flash happy trying to fix problems.
What is the point of having a smartphone if you don't have things syncing? Seems extremely pointless to me.

turning off the phone also works really well...as does avoiding all web surfing, music and video playing...lol
you guys missed the point where i said when i'm around a computer. Like when i'm at home, i'm usually logged into this site, gmail and 4 other sites, so no point in having my phone auto sync. You can always manually sync every couple of hours.
This was a suggestion for people that are looking to get a little extra battery life, not for sneers and condescending little remarks that are unhelpful.
If you have something negative to say. Please keep it to yourself.

No, it does not. During airplane mode, you cannot send recieve text, or send and recv calls. Also data features during gameplay does not work in airplane mode.
Look guys if you don't have anything positive to add. Then please don't add it.

At my work there's only 2G but my phone signal is fine. So I drop my radio to CDMA ONLY (1X). They have a 3G WiFi so I connect my Nexus 7 and I go one further after I disable Sync on my power widget control, I disable Mobile data. Its redundant, my tablet has all email and internet functions. My phone still works fine for calls, text messaging and I can even take a picture and send/receive it mms, even with Mobile data off. When I send or receive an MMS, the 1X icon pops up so it accesses the internet for that task then goes back to being off. I have no problem making my super phone a dumb phone when I don't need the internet tapped to my hip for no reason, I'd rather get better battery life! As soon as I need to, I can go right back to super phone, but you can't do that with a dumb phone
I do turn of the sync do my battery can go further since I'm not always around a plug and still don't turn it on since I don't like my notification bar cluttered. So I turn off the mobile network and WiFi when I don't use them.

This is a good idea, particularly if you couple it with something like Tasker or Locale, so that auto-sync is automatically turned off when you are at certain locations... (like home or the office).
what exactly does the sync toggle feature disable? when it comes to google services?

I've purchased Redmi Note 3 Pro a few days ago. I'm satisfied with overall of the phone but there is one problem I'm facing.
After I quit airplane mode(every night I turns on airplane mode before sleep then turns it off in the morning), my phone won't detect the network most of the time, sometimes it detects the network but it took way too long to happen but still, it acts like there's no network. I couldn't call, sms, receive call, receive sms and use mobile data. Everytime I have to restart my phone to detect the network.
Is there any ways to fix this problem ? It irritates me a lot as I have to restart my phone everyday.
update your phone, this issue has been solved about a month ago
Yeah the new builds are much beter
Hi guys,
I also have network problems on my Note 3 Pro - but without airplane mode. My phone just randomly looses internet connectivity, sometimes completely, sometimes it drops to Edge, most of the times with a warning about roaming and data connectivity. And yet sometimes I completely loose mobile signal but a on/off airplane mode fixes it.
It's pretty irritating, I didn't have these sort of problems with my prev. phone, and I haven't visited any new places or with bad reception.
I'm running the 7.1.8.0 global stable rom.
PS: My locale is missing, and I chose Argentina on random, then disabled auto-time. Could this mess things up ?
Any input would be appreciated.

I am facing a terrible network problem with my phone too. I have used China and Global ROMs and I cannot fix the problem. I am currently using Global 7.1.8.0
My phone does not respond to incoming calls when in sleep mode. Incoming calls go directly to voicemail. It seems that it is connected to the network while in sleep mode. However, it does not respond to the incoming call.
If the phone is awake with the screen on, it shows an incoming call.
I have tested other SIM cards, switching from 3G to 2G, reseting the phone, clearing cache, disabling "do not disturb".... The problem just does not go away. It's a shame that a phone with this much potential has a basic problem like this.

Just tested, mine rings when sleeping. But define sleeping... ? When display is off for a some time ?
I am also suspecting something with the sleep mode, it usually 'switches' to Edge or no connection while in my pocket. I am also suspecting problems with the sim card, have you tried with a new one, or card in another phone ?
Otherwise I really like the phone It brought my trust back in Android.
edit: Update > Download Update and it started downloading, then restarted, installed something, but I'm still on 7.1.8.0 ...
Auto download is ON.

I define the "sleeping mode' as phone with screen off for some time. I tried different SIM cards and from different network companies (3 and Vodafone). Same problem. My network signal is extremely unstable. I like the phone a lot too. However, network signal is something so basic on a phone that it is a shame it does not work properly.
I am also facing similar issues but xiaomi people are not recognizing the issue. They are telling that it's an isolated issue. Please post here, so that they fix this problem.
http://en.miui.com/thread-255747-1-1.html
I got a new sim card, and upgraded my plan, now I have good reception, almost always LTE, sometimes drops to H+. How I miss calls when my phone's display is turned off/sleeping. I'm getting pretty pissed of with Xiaomi about this ****
So annoying
Hope we get the 7.2.2 update soon and it fixes this problem

Got my phone yesterday and had the same problem this morning. Solved by signing out of my MI account, switching off VoLTE and rebooting. Everything works properly now. Hope this helps.

Forget my previous posts on this issue. Follow these steps as they worked perfectly for me and I had to repeat them this evening since I did a reboot.
1. Keep sim registration on automatic on both sims.
2. Power off phone.
3. Remove sim 1 and keep sim 2 (my sim 2 is 3 Mobile UK roaming. That may make a difference).
4. Power on phone. My roaming sim 2 registers immediately.
5. Power off phone.
6. Insert sim 1 (primary or local sim).
7. Power on and you should have both sims working perfectly.
8. Go to sim settings and change your preferred calls and data back to sim 1 if you need to.
These steps have worked for me twice so far. Hope it helps.
P. S. I must add that I have zero, zilch, nada issues with my Zenfone 2 running the same setup (local sim and uk T-Mobile). Love the Xiaomi so far but detest the lack of native alphabetical for the apps. Considered Nova but the free version doesn't give message counters. Any suggestions?

I am glad it helped you. Make sure you type the code *#*#995995#*#* twice after stopping the apk. I actually disabled this apk without any secondary problem.
I am running Global ROM 7.1.8.0. Still waiting for 7.2.2. Let's hope this problem will be fixed in the next update.
Hi,
I'm also facing network issues with 7.1.8.0 : when exiting airplane mode or switching from Wi-Fi to gsm network, I lose data connection. The only way to get data back is to reboot the phone.
Sadly, the trick from miui forum didn't work for me for this particular problem.
Il hope this problem will be fixed in 7.2.2.0 update.
@ mura20 : thanks for the trick nevertheless...
OTA 7.2.3.0 is here!
OTA 7.2.3.0 solved my problem !

Greetings. I have a problem with my phone and Wi-Fi connection.
My phone is a Sony Xperia J running stock Android 4.1.2. When I leave it for a while in sleep mode, whether charging or not, it disconnects from my Wi-Fi connection and uses my phone's data, draining my data plan.
I need your help concerning this issue. Here are some of my phone's related settings:
Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep: Always.
Avoid poor connections: Unchecked.
Extended Standby Mode: Unchecked.
Thanks in advance.
UPDATE: Since then I've disabled my data plan so I can check if my phone is properly connecting to my Wi-Fi or not. It seems that yesterday I had no problem, but today I'm experiencing it. I don't know what should I do. :crying:

Did u use SIPdroid?
If yes uninstall it.
Sent from my OPO using CM14.1 <3
Also make sure that you don't have the battery saver mode on or another app that tries to save battery because they will often interfere and disable that for you as well.

Only other setting I can think of that controls that is in Developer Options. There's one that's aggressive hand off from wifi to cellular data and one for keep data on at all times. If you haven't enabled Developer Options yet then forget I mentioned it as it'll not be on by default.

I have Developer Options enabled and I don't see any of these options there.
Anyway, I think I have found the cause of the problem (a conflicting application, I just did a clean reinstall of it) and so far I'm good, if the problem persists I'll post again.
Thank you everyone who participated in this thread.
Glad to hear that it seems you found the cause. Please let us know what app in case someone else has the same issue and stumbles across your post.
Well, it was WhatsApp. Apparently I had a duplicate APK in my SD card (I use Link2SD) from before the factory reset. I say it was a duplicate because I unlinked WhatsApp from the SD card, but when I uninstalled it it said it was removing it from the SD card.
Thanks again!
I've scoured the internet for every forum thread or article I could find on this issue, and I've tried many of their fixes as well as my own. I own an unlocked S10 lite North American variant. So far the only app I have found that doesn't perform properly is Snapchat, and the issue is only with sending messages, not receiving or viewing them. Messages will sit on "waiting to send..." until I turn off WiFi and go back to data, after which they will immediately send. This is a really big issue for me as I use Snapchat very often as my main mode of communication for most of my friends and family. Luckily I have unlimited data, I'd be screwed if I didn't. If anyone needs or wants more info I'll be more than happy to provide it. If anyone has any ideas on how to fix this, they'd be much appreciated, I've been dealing with this problem for about a week now and it's really starting to bug me.
Edit: I'd also like to state that this issue has been happening for me since I bought the phone brand new last week. I have not done any modifications such as rooting.
Go to settings and search for Wi-Fi control and in that check for Snapchat, it is allowed or not?

I have two routers in my home... It seems to only happen when I'm connected to a 5g router, 2.4Ghz works just fine as far as I can tell.
Edit: I stayed on my 2.4ghz router and now snapchat is acting up again after about 40 minutes, however it was functioning correctly until that point.
just ran across this setting in mobile data and was wondering if you had checked to see if any apps were set on this.
