Hi,
I have some questions and / issues as an egde newbie:
1.) The lockscreen stays on only for seconds... can I edit this?
2.) The auto brightness function dimms the screen too much in my room. If I expose the edge to more light, the screen turns bright and stays like this... (it does not matter if it is in energy saving mode). Is there a way to force the auto function to update more properly?

Samsung Galaxy SII is my first android, Awsome device.... but i have some question i couldnt figure answers for:
1. in settings > Display, what is the difference between Auto brightness and Auto Screen Power?
2. when connected via USB to Kies, then clicking the home button to use the device, how to re-initiate the connection without removing and re plugging the cable!
apologies if repeated questions, but i couldnt find them in threads...
1. in settings > Display, what is the difference between Auto brightness and Auto Screen Power?
Click to collapse
To my understanding, "Auto brightness" only responds to the light conditions (eg, outdoors versus indoors), while "auto screen power" adds another level of brightness adjustment, responding to the image that is on the screen (eg, images with lots of white versus predominantly dark images).
In CyanogenMod, I was a fan of the setting that allowed me to "prevent phone's auto brightness from going down".
I like auto brightness and appreciate its ability to save battery life when indoors vs. enabling me to see the phone if I go outside in a high light situation.
However, under florescent lights, or in a room with a definitive light source (single lamp in dark room)... the phone's sensor keeps jumping it between light levels where the screen brightness goes up and down.... up and down... It's a bit dizzying and makes the phone somewhat uncomfortable to use.
Anyone find an app or workaround to automatically achieve what I want... other than... disabling auto brightness when it starts, setting an appropriate brightness level, and then, trying to remember to re-enable later when I'm outside (and of course, have a hard time then seeing the phone )
?
Does anybody have a flickering display?
I like to dim the brightness in the evening almost to the minimum. Then it is quite easy to see some "pumping" (flicker) of the brightness, when I use the phone. It seems to be even more visible, when I turn on the "night owl" app, in order to filter the blue light out of the screen.

Hey folks,
Does anyone know of a way to have the watch display in ambient mode (instead of turning fully on) when you tilt it? I find that the ambient mode is plenty bright and don't need or want it to light up fully when I just want to see the time. Any thoughts or ideas?
Switch off "turning on screen on tilt" (or something like that) in watch settings in Android Wear app
