Love the edge design but feel I am losing the bits on both edges giving the perception of a smaller screen.

Hello,
I have had my galaxy s 3 for two days now. And was wondering if anyone else is having issue with the oleophobic coating and it not being able to wipe your finger prints off easily. Its hard to explain, but it seems that my finger prints got inprinted in the coating. So after cleaning the screen your still able to see the finger prints.
The reason for this post is to see if anyone is having this issue.
Thanks

I am sad to say that I am facing a similar problem. I keep a microfiber cloth with me and have to wipe the screen every time I want to use the phone. The fingerprints go away after cleaning the screen but after using the phone for only 1-2 minutes, the touch starts becoming sticky and there is a lot of friction between my fingers and the screen.
No such problem with my device.

Thanks for the replies, then it could be a problem with the device. Because if it's using the same type of screen as the one x and I haven't had this issue with that phone. I'm going to see if Expansys will be able to exchange the device.
Thanks again

try some tough soap and hot water. on your hands that is..!
I have yet to notice a single fingerprint on this phone. Love it

There could be a scientific reason behind this? Probably the weather or the amount of heat your body generates? I am just thinking out loud..
Maybe I'm not sure I'm thinking it'll get better over time bc that's the only issue I have with it. I don't have any visible black dots that most people have or any severe tint it looks nice. Just the issue that the coating seems to retain the oils and if the coating has millions of tiny scratches.

Oleophobic coating is a very BAD decision as i stated in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1683458&page=3
its making more damage then good
Especially if you carry the phone in your pocket.
I'm carious if the slightly bigger size can be felt in the pocket.
I came from the optimus g and HTC onex relatively similar and it doesn't feel big at all. U can still hold it fine with one hand and also is easily pocketable for me. I have no issues with fumbling with it like I did when I had the first note

It is the same width as the s3 but a little bit taller and thicker. But it actually feels thinner due to how it is curved.

Definitely a lot heavier than my S3 but still acceptable especially considering the screen size.

It being too big for a pocket was my main concern coming from the s3 but as was said earlier same width so to me out doesn't feel noticeably bigger

I have the white 32gb model and along the top edge is a small opening with plastic inside. I was stupid and thought it was a switch and pressed on it with a Nintendo DS stylus. It didn't appear to move, but I'm concerned about the waterproof aspect. Like if I damaged the seal.

Somebody reported this was simply one of the tablet's assembly points holding things in place/releasing things for repair.
So me pressing on it with a stylus won't damage the seal?

just traded my note edge for a nexus 6 and one of the first things i noticed was very annoying was the rocking side to side when it was laid down and i was touching stuff on the screen. is there any cases that help the issue without turning it into a big ass brick shape. i watched plenty of videos before i traded and was aware of the issue but i am a phone junky and need to try them all lol. i have never used a stock android device before this one so looking for something to help me enjoy using the phone before i get annoyed by it so i can give it a fair shake. any other ideas that people use to lighten the amount of back and forth will be appreciated
Not 100% but I think the carved cases are flat.. a little pricey tho @~$30 but look sooooo nice

If you don't mind the added bulk, the unicorn beetle case eliminates the curved back
I can recommend the Evocel Slim Armor case. It's what I'm rocking now, as a matter of fact.

You mean the one that's like an otterbox? My white one still is curved...

Can u post a couple pics? Looks like the flat back I'm looking for but can't really tell how much thickness it will add

Unfortunately, I kind of needed my Nexus to take these photos... ?
I should also mention, it does add some thickness to the device - but not really much more than the Spigen Slim Armor. I'd imagine it has a lot to do with taking a rounded back and making it flat.

^^Definitely a flat back.^^ I'm considering this bumper with a carbon fiber skin on the back. Or maybe just ordering another one or two back covers to swap out if they get scraped up. I think I would like this

Does it have decent grip?

I'd say it could be better in terms of grip? But personally it's never just slipped out of my hands.

Gotcha its tempting but I have so many cases already. None that are flat though so hmm. Looks like it adds a bit too much bulk however? Or not too bad?

Not too bad at all. As I'd said - I'd say it's comparable in thickness to the Spigen Slim Armor, and the only real additional bulk comes from the added material in making a rounded back a flat one. I don't think I can go back to rounded now, actually. ^^;

Can you still wireless charge with the Nilkin bumper?

So I ordered a tempered glass off of amazon but it didn't cover the entire screen of the N6 and it looks funny with the outline of the film. Anyone knows of a better one that cover better?

http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00TD8Q2AM?vs=1 this one is really nice but I had a problem with a simple area getting pushed in and cracked between the proximity and speaker ... They are sending a replacement for me. I love the look of it and it repels finger prints very very nicely
