Hey there, I had a similar problem, what I did was re-install the Samsung drivers and reboot the computer also I turned off my lock screen and activation on the phone. Between the two of those things it allowed ODIN to have success.

Even you have to put the phone in Download mode?
Edit: I tried the same and it still does not work :/

I tried again, but this time I ran the Odin as administrator. I passed thru NAND Write but in the end of all process it says FAIL and brick my phone.
I am trying to flash this file: G925IDVU1AOD1_G925IZTO1AOD1_G925IDVU1AOD1_HOME.tar.md5
You can see the issue attached:

you fail because you need a pit file..I can flash my normal firmware without a problem..but if I try a other one for example a provider one..it fails..for that we need the pit..and for that we need root..to extract it from the phone..and I don't won't to root ATM..

So how can I fix the device?
I tryng to use the Smart Switch PC but my device does not appear in the list to recovery emergency
I reinstalled the usb driver..

No, I just want to change the firmware version because the version that came with the phone does not have Portuguese as all language. The revice was 100% stock, just tried to flash another country firmware thru Odin and it has been bricked.

O.k the only way I know around this without finding your original firmware and flashing that, is to:
flash the firmware again, and wait until it fails again,
then hold vol down + power + home to get it to restart in to download mode again but keep odin open,
then flash CF autoroot .
then wait for the phone to reboot and it will install root then it will restart two more times on it own then should boot into the O.S.
(i take no responsibility if you mess up you device though but I have done this on more than one occasion and it always works for me)
I expect you could probably do this will another recovery(stock/twrp) instead of the CF autoroot one but have yet to try.
but you probably will be better off finding original firmware but you will not have Portuguese as you want.
Good luck with trying to fix your device

Maybe you can try each of the stock versions until you get the right one for your particular device. Also maybe a model number would help someone on here to identify what version you have, I don't know just throwing that out there.

My phone is G925i, and in the back says that it is made in Yateley, UK
Wich firmware you think I can try to flash?
I was trying the G925IDVU1AOD1_G925IZTO1AOD1_G925IDVU1AOD1 and then the phone has bee bricked.

Can you get it back into Download mode so you can re-flash firmware?
Why did you flash the pit in the first place? (All tutorials tell you not to do this)
If you cant get it to boot into anything (download or recovery) then I don't know if its possible to restore it...
You might also want to try taking the battery out and putting it back in again if you havent already
You install the wrong pit file .?????
What instructions are you following .
jje
It is possible to repartition but you would need the proper set of files that support it.
If i'm right (not sure though) you can do it with a set that contain the "_user_low_ship" in the pda name.
The download on samfirmware of the I9100XWKF1 does have this, containing odin 1.85, a 3 set for pda, modem and csc, and pit file.

Send it for a repair and hope it won't be a too costly one or the repair guys cannot turn it on either to find out you tried to flash a SGS firmware on it. Also Odin is now going in version 1.8x so you should update your flashing software too.

The JIGs are like £4 on ebay, so its worth a try, and if it doesnt work then you can sell it on or something.
USB jig any Odin should work flash stock firmware but follow instructions to the letter and read what you are doing first .
jjue
Good luck with the jig hopefully it will work and you can get your phone working again.
I am amazed it let you flash it as well being a totally different ROM!
Take the battery out then press and hold the power key for 10 seconds.
then press and hold home and vol down, do not let go of the keys while doing below
then insert the USB cable
then insert the battery
Does it now go into download mode and get recognised by the PC?
I went to a phone service and the guy there told me that the boot loader was completely erased, everything...there's nothing...

If the bootloader is gone then you would need special equipement to repair.
Sorry to say this but if there is no way to load the bootloader from sdcard or something then you are screwed.

Are you able to get into recovery mode still? For download mode make sure your holding down the correct key combination to get into download mode. You can also try using a USB Download jig which you can get from here, which when plugged into the phone will force the phone into download mode. As a fair warning the download jig's don't usually work with newer model phones but for a couple bucks it's worth a try. Let me know if you still have questions.
Motherboard dead?
Sorry to invade this post. I would just like to have confirmation on my device and it's pretty similar to what is found here. The only way I can access download mode is by pressing Q+Power and then adding the battery. Odin connects to everything, I can even flash the firmware from Bell for my Galaxy gt-i5510M and it PASS. But I can't still power it up, is the motherboard or something similar dead?
Thanks

If your device can still access download mode and Odin can successfully connect to your device an flash the firmware your device's motherboard is not dead. Try re-flashing the firmware to your device and checking auto-reboot option in Odin this way when the firmware finishes flashing the device will automatically reboot and hopefully power on then.
Thanks for the fast answer, you've been answering 3 people back on this thread, impressive.
Unfortunately I made sure of that, the auto reboot was checked but it doesn't reboot the device. I wanted to put a screenshot but I didn't realize you need around 10 posts to be able to post outside links. I've been looking through xda for a while but never posting.
I'm used to adb, so Odin is a bit new I have to admit. I've put the ops file, callisto in this case, in the appropriate ops , and then the One Package file I got from samfirmware "I5510UGKC5_I5510BMCKC5_BMC". Is there something else I could flash? It wouldn't be like some other phones where I could put down a Custom Recovery, go back to stock, etc. ?

To clarify did you put the firmware in the correct slot in Odin (PDA slot in this case) when flashing? Also double check your flashing the correct firmware for your device, as that could also be part of the problem.
Well you figured some things that were wrong. I was putting it in the one package slot. So I tried in the PDA slot, but it said "Invalid Image Type". From the sticker inside the battery compartment, it does say it's the GT-I5510M, so the 551 from Bell Canada it seems. But it's not easy to find a firmware for it, and the only one I found is at sammobile. There's plenty others under GT-I5510, but they're all European.
Any idea what I could use instead? The full name of the firmware I have is: "I5510UGKC5_BMCKC5_HOMEDOWNLOAD_TEST.tar" or "I5510UGKC5_I5510BMCKC5_BMC.zip" for the zip.
Thanks a lot for following this.

okay? the first thing to do here is just flash a stock ROM, no need for pit files
Mine was stuck before than samsung logo, on the model number screen. Almost 1 second or less after opening the device.
Then i flashed 4.0.4 and magically it opened without any loop or something. Its useless to flash 4.1.2 or any other jb stock rom, for some reason it seems not fixing the loop issue.
Again, there is no problem related with pit files.

It's all individual, what worked for you might not work for others. Don't say that flashing JB is useless, because it's not

Follow the steps to root and flash your custom ROM again as if you just got your phone. The same thing happened to my T999, and it took me 3 tries doing this to finally get back into Recovery.
try to flash in odin stock rom then root use cwm then try to go to recovery..
My cousin's having the same exact issue and we've been unable to find the proper rom. Can anyone please tell me where to get one? I've downloaded some "international" ones but when i try to upload it it keeps telling me failed, i've tried at least 4 or 5 different roms.
ANY help would be greatly appreciated!!

Try several times before giving up. Sometimes it works after when the device feels that you've had enough stress and fear.
I mean the problem is common but it's solved in different ways or different repeats.
But it seems that your problem is a software problem that can be solved.

Then put the battery in..
Don't leave the keys until you get into recovery mode.. Probably you'd have to try flashing an new rom through recovery..make sure the first thing you do.on CWM is factory reset

You were the one asking about hardbrick and now it seems you could have suffered one. What a fu**ed up coinsidence. Although for now it looks like a Soft-Brick
Ok first , how many % did your battery have when you started flashing?
Second, what Firmware did you flash and where did you get it (link would be good)?
The flashing counter looks good except the the System Status. It states custom which indicates that you changed the Firmware in some way which could void warranty but not always, depends on the carrier and the Service Center.

1) Around 50% but the amount of battery left is much much less than that. I can feel it.
2) XXDLJ4 from Sammobile. I can't find the link. But it was official firmware from UK.
I live in India. We don't have carrier specific phones yet. But I have no idea what service centre guys are going to say. I'm just gonna tell him that I was updating using kies and this happened.

Thanks for your reply but I'm unable to get into recovery mode. I tried what you said.
XXDLJ4 is outdated and is from 2012. From what Google says it`s Android 4.1.1 . There are newer Firmwares around. The newest Firmware to my knowledge is XXEMC3. However it doesn`t matter what the Firmware is, it should work even if the Firmware is old. Do you still have the log from Odin? It would be good to see where Odin failed exactly. A screenshot would be great.

Yeah. Sure. Here you go.
Ok a friend of mine had the same issue one time with his I9000 and it helped to switch the USB Ports and then try to flash the firmware again. Also turn off every process that belongs to Kies. Go to Task manager and Kill every Kies process.
Also try to use Odin 1.85, I`ve seen people having problems with Odin 3.xx before

I'll do that. Give me two mins.
P.S. Can I somehow charge my phone's battery? Like through a wall socket? It shows old style downloading mode with no info whatsoever if I do that? Is it charging?

Nope I don`t think it`s charging. That`s why almost every flashing guide says that you should have a fully charged battery before you flash a ROM to your device.
Edit: Ok this is weird. I would try a different Firmware.

Yeah I know that. But this thing has never ever happened to me. So I guess I was over-confident!
Turn your phone off so the battery won`t die. Then download the latest Firmware and flash it the same way you did before. This is the only thing that you could do to my knowledge.
Do you have a Custom ROM on your phones internal or external SD? If yes you could follow up on BHARGAV33`s tip to flash CWM Recovery through Odin and then try to access Recovery and afterwards wipe data and flash a new ROM.

"NAND Erase All" is worth trying?

Doing that only for the some past hours. No, I'm unable to get into recovery in the way he said. I've already tried it. I searched around on forum & some people were able to tackle their issue by flashing a complete firmware with 3 files. I download the whole firmware which had 3 files but still no luck. I'm going crazy over here, should I just give my phone to Samsung Care and let them deal with it? Or is there anything left to try?
And BTW, I gotta ask, what exactly happens if someone ticks "NAND Erase All" in odin when flashing a firmware. I've not done this because according to me, it's not advisable to play with things which you don't know about.
1) So, what does "NAND Erase All" in odin do exactly?
2) Will it somehow be helpful in my situation?
3) Also, some people on XDA say that NAND Erase All hard bricks your phone & warranty is also void. Is this true?

Bricked Galaxy S4 GT-I9506

***Problem Solved***
Hi experts,
My Galaxy S4 GT-I9506 is bricked with this error:
image 1 (attached)
It doesn't go to recovery mode anymore now!!!
First I tried to install custom Rom to root it with Odin, it did seem fine with "green pass" but didn't actually install any recovery mode (there wasn't any install option in recovery mode, there were only update options), nothing happened to phone at all and it worked normal.
Second i wiped the phone and cache and I download the firmware from Samsung website.
and after try to install, it failed in Odin:
Images 2 & 3 (attached)
I'm not sure but I think it was a wrong firmware, because I bought my phone online (kogan.com i think it is in Hongkong) and I downloaded the Australia Vodafone firmware (as I'm using Vodafone sim card).
anyone can help me?!
I should mention that phone doesn't go to recovery mode, failed in Odin, Kies can not fix it! the drivers all are up to date and no Antivirus runs in my PC.
Please someone help me.
Thanks & regards
Tesius
Go to samfirmware.com and download the latest firmware for your phone, try using that in odin

Open Kies and go to the Tools menu and click on Firmware initialization, enter your model name and serial number(under the battery). It will get you back to stock firmware

Make sure your firmware downloaded right, because it is saying it is corrupt. (redownload and rerun Odin).

Tks - I have tried many ROMs from different counties (other ROM or even Kernel, etc...) and upload does not seem to work in ODIN. When you find the right country ROM, did it suddenly work in ODIN?

yes, there are different operator in one country, first u have to find out in which operator of which country your phone is supported, then download the ROM from sammobile, make sure of using last version of Odin, and maybe it takes longer than u expects, for me last about 9min to get the Pass sign...
i had the same problem..so try downloading GT-I9506_501_Stock-Recovery_XXUDOF2 that file from internet and extract..and then flash it using odin..it worked for my s4 gti 9506...
