i am very pleased with my motorola turbo charger that accompany my nexus 6 and i would like a second one (european edition). Where can i find one? (i have searched everywhere i can!!) Any help is appreciated
I'm not sure about European ones but I would check amazon.co.uk or which ever countries amazon you are in. I have 4 Qualcomm quick charge 2.0 chargers (2 Motorola, 1 incipio and 1 power partners) they all work the same so brand doesn't matter as long as it's quick charge 2.0 certified. I would recommend not buying the Motorola version because its expensive compared to other brand and its rather large in comparison. One of my chargers supports the higher voltage (20v quick charge) but no device so far can take advantage of it just yet. I would just search for quick charge 2.0 and see what pops up unless you are dead set on the Motorola one. Below is a picture of the Motorola vs the Power Partners one.
Couple of weeks ago I've bought Aukey turbo charger on Amazon.de.
Seems to work just fine, but comes without micro usb cable, so make sure to
have proper one (for turbo charging) or buy one.
There seems to be a few new options slowly coming onto amazon.
Anker makes a single port charger for like 20 bucks.
Personally I am waiting for someone like anker to make a multi-port charger that supports QC 2.0 across the 4 to 6 charging ports.
Basically this with upgraded internals.

There should be a plethora of quick charge 2.0 compatible chargers since Qualcomm isn't charging a licensing fee to use the technology. Give it time and there will be more. I know in the US there are 30+ different QC 2.0 chargers on Amazon so the other country specific ones should follow suit.
Can anyone tell me if the Samsung Adaptive Fast charger will work as well as a licensed charger? I only want to know because I like the fact that it is all white and a few Amazon reviews point out that some of the aftermarket versions burned out the charger port or phone. I know that the adaptive charger will be faster than others, but will it be as fast as the stock Moto charger?

Its a QC 2.0 charger assuming your talking about the one that comes with the Note 4. It's even on Qualcomms website if you look for it under quick charge form what I remember. It should work just fine, do you have a link to the Amazon page? Its odd how people claim it burned out their outlets but things happen.

Sure: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/cr/B00QTJZ3D0/ref=mw_dp_cr?qid=1425351571&sr=8-6
3 on that page. I think there was one on aukey that a person had updated but I can't find it now. I specifically remember it because they had rated a 5 and came back to update it.
I've looked everywhere on the quick charge page. I don't see the note 4 charger on there. They always run half off coupons, so it would be cheap when back in stock, plus it's not a knockoff if you but straight from Sammy. It's weird because it maxes at 2 or 5v I think instead of 9v like the others. (My numbers may be off on voltage but Sammy's is lower than Motorola)
If not, maybe Motorola will run an accessories sale sometime this decade.

I have no issues with the other QC 2.0 chargers that I run. I read those reviews and I personally wouldn't trust that company given the number if people with complaints until they fix what's causing the issues. I have 2 Motorola QC's a Power Partners one and finally a Incipio QC car charger. I haven't had any issues with any of them and the Power Partners one is rated at a max of 30W. I haven't seen my Nexus 6 go beyond 9V personally so the 20V and 12V that it offers won't really matter until devices support that. I would go with one that people have tried without issues to play it safe. If you own a Samsung phone they do give half off when you register it on their site if I remember correctly. Its been a while since I've owned any Samsung phone besides my wife's S5 which we got rid of a while ago. I use my car quick charge daily and I haven't had any issues at all. I stopped caring about seeing how much battery I could squeeze out of my phone and instead I bleed it dry so to speak then quick charge it when it drops below 50%. I carry my spare Moto charger in my backpack and it works fine (I got it for free using a $50 gift card to Motos site) otherwise I wouldn't psy $35 for another one.

I think I read somewhere that they don't even go up to 6, but I could be wrong. Thanks for the insight. I might get a certified, but I would still like to know if the Samsung Adaptive Fast Charger will work the same as the Motorola Turbo Charger for the Nexus 6.

Voltages go in steps usually 5,9,12,20V for phone chargers but the actual charging voltage may vary. If I I recall correctly it does charge at 9V but only in certain situations.

Looks like there is one now. Only 2 of the ports have QC 2.0.

Already charges as fast, or faster than qc.
Why bother.
No point, it has a non-proprietary fast charge, which is what you should be wanting and praising them for doing.
Useful as an intermediate step for those of us who have invested in a number of qc2 Chargers.
Have raised this before, the hardware all seems to be there, so there may be a way to enable it in the future at some point.
Also, for those saying that the USB-C native is faster, you're sadly mistaken. USB-C is 5V/3A = 15W , obviously take away some for loss, heat, resistance. QC 2.0 can support 9V/2A (18W), 12V/1.5A (18W) both just a touch higher than USB-C - albeit not by a massive margin.
Im in the same boat as above, I have 2 QC2.0 desktop chargers and a carcharger too, would be lovely to use them with a good USB-A to C cable and support those speeds.

Once c gets fully adopted, which shouldn't be long, chargers will be cheap as dirt.
I can see the bummer aspect if you've already invested in qc though. At least it won't cost much to switch.

it has nothing to do with usb-c, c will work with any charger. This charger won't get cheaper if no other phone requires that 3A output.

When everyone is using c - and along with that faster data rates, and fast charge - everyone and their grandmother will be making chargers meeting c fast charge specs. And when that happens, price will drop like a big rock.
But ya never know what some enterprising dev may come up with. I'm sure if possible, it'll be done.
I wouldn't chuck those chargers yet. Although might be better to try and sell them now while you can before qc fades away and they are worthless.

What makes you think QC will fade away? QC 3.0 looks promising, and will likely be standard fitment to next gen Qualcomm powered phones, given they could also utilise USB-C connectors, it looks like it could be around for a while?

This. Exactly this.
Also, think about the companies that have adopted USB Type-C already. Microsoft. Google. Intel. Asus. MSI. Apple. HP. Dell. And so on and so forth.
If what has you worried is not seeing a lot of third party makers of Type-C equipment on Amazon, just keep in mind we are in the first few quarters of adoption. It's going to take a little while to spin up world wide production of all the millions of little usb products we use.
As a wise man once said: R. E. L. A. X. Relax.

I have.
My point is still relevant though, I know USB-C (PD) is capable of 100W or whatever, but in its current use on our phones it is 15W.
QC 2.0 is already doing 18W , QC 3.0 can do 60W (INOV). QC also supports the USB-C interface, meaning in a few months, you could get a phone which uses a USB-C interface, using QC 3.0 charging at beyond 18W.....
QC can live harmoniously with a USB-C connector. If our hardware technically has support, the more the merrier.

Your assumption is that QC can maintain the 9V and 12V charging states as long as Type-C can maintain its high amp charging before it has to taper off. I'm not saying it doesn't but nobody knows the exact states each charger goes through as different battery levels, battery temperatures, etc.

Absolutely true again. Having the freedom to use whichever standard ends up winning, means we win in the end.
So back on track, discussion topic to see if we can get QC 2.0 working!
Since I'm not as technically savy as our amazing ROM devs, I have to wonder if this is something that could be enabled. Maybe with a kernel?

UPDATE 11/23/2016, mentioned this charger to Nathan K, and he linked me a review done by HKJ http://budgetlightforum.com/node/45176.
COMMENTS: "He felt it was "a bit too powerful". Translation (and my opinion): it lacks overload protection safeties, avoid.
"No individual port overload protection."
UPDATE 11/15/2016: I tested with my Pixel XL and it handles 1400-1450mA in port (A) using stock a-c cable and 1450-1530mA in port (c) cabled usb-c..
UPDATE 11/12/2016; This morning I plugged in at 66% on phone, ampere showed the charger feeding 2400mA. This is as fast as my zerolemon QC wall charger on my lg g4.

Yeah it's still on sale too!

It's only 5v 3A 15w max unless it's defective, it doesnt go any higher than the max a pixel can handle. Like the 9v/3A 12v 15v 20v...

Its because there were several reports with the nexus 6p usb c ports burning up and lots of micro usb to usb c adapters melting, but mostly when the cable was wiggled or phone fell while plugged in.

Personally tested this charger does not back charge my car when off like some of the tested/ recommended car chargers have been found to do, including Belkin, tronsmart and visnic.
I bought one of these Aukey units but haven't tried with Ampere. <Tested: it delivers 2000ma from both ports to the pixel. Stock wall charger delivers 3000ma.> I've used it with the Pixel, Nexus 5X, LG G4 and Droid Maxx. All of them charge fast. Even the MAXX which isn't a Quickcharge phone charges quite quickly. It has a Fast charge port and a Quickcharge 3.0 port that is backward compatible. All these phones have roughly 3Ah batteries. The Pixel and 5X are type C. The G4 has Quickcharge 2.0 hardware but I don't know if the firmware was ever updated to accept more than Quickcharge 1.0.
https://www.amazon.com/Aukey-CC-T7-...838012&sr=8-2&keywords=aukey+quick+charge+3.0
Anyway, seems quality and beats all the typical 250ma car chargers that can't even keep up with google maps usage.
bump still working great and still on sale $5 shipped.
I wish I had any idea how to determine if a charger was "safe" without just looking at a list of approved chargers
What external battery will work with the Galaxy S8 considering it has USB C now? There was a mess awhile back with people arguing over what was safe and what isn't. Will popular external battery brands such as Anker PowerCore+ be safe or work with the new Galaxy S8?
I've never had a problem with any of my external batteries and any of my phones. I think if you stick with a decent brand, you'll be ok. Just don't use those crappy ones you get from gas stations or whatever.
What's really important is the usb C cable you gonna use, i've been using external batteries with my lg g5 without any issue so far because i keep using the og cable . Don't use any cheap usb C cable or it might kill your device.

I have used my Anker Powercore+ 10050 and Powercore 20100 with my Galaxy S7, S6, Pixel, Nexus 5x, Nexus 6P, Lumia 950, HP Elite X3, Note 5, and my iPhone 6, 6s and iPad Air2 and Air devices just fine. I imagine the S8 shouldn't be a problem.
For my devices that use USB-C, I got an Anker "USB-C to USB 3.0" 3ft that is on their web site (ordered via Amazon). From what I understand using a USB-A to USB-C cable doesn't allow for "fast charging." But it does allow me to charge my Pixel, Nexus, Elite X3, etc at "standard rate" just fine.
I'm not sure what "standard" the S8 is supposed to use for "fast charging" . I don't know if it will be QC2.0, QC3.0, QC4.0, or the same USB-C standard that the Pixel, HP Elite X3, Nexus 5x, etc support. So I don't know if I'll need to upgrade my battery pack to one with USB-C port on it, like the PowerCore+ 20100 USB-C Port.

Don't buy sketchy Type-Cs. If you are unsure, Anker is always reliable.

If it's anything like the note 7, any battery pack that has a USB A port and supports fast charging will support fast charging on the Gs8. The pixel uses type C power delivery which is really different from Quick Charge. I used the same battery pack from my note 5 but using a type C cable and had no issues with fast charge. Another thing to remember is that if you have a crappy cable, no fast charger will make it charge fast. The oem cable is always a good place to start.

But that is just it... *IF* the S8/S8+ use QuickCharge 2.0 or 3.0 over USB-C, then sure, any battery pack with a USB-A port that supports QC2/3 should fast charge the S8/S8+ with a quality USB-A to USB-C cable.
But if the S8/S8+ instead uses the USB-C fast charge standard that the Pixel, Nexus 6P, etc use (which is NOT QC2.0/3.0) then its another matter. A Battery Pack with USB-A ports likely wont fast charge the S8/S8+.
When I initially posted, I saw nothing speaking of which spec the S8/S8+ uses. I have since seen a few unboxing videos on Youtube which show the S8/S8+ wall charger. It appears to be a QC2 compatible, with the same specs (output voltage/current) as the wall charger that comes with the Galaxy S7. So if that is correct, then yes, any battery pack that supports QC2 should continue quick charging the GS8/S8+ . And the question now becomes... Will the USB-C port on something like this RAVpower -> https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B019IFIJW8/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 or other USB-C based chargers (wall, car, or battery pack) "Fast Charge" the S8/S8+?

What's you're talking about is type C power delivery (which is what the pixel supports and uses for fast charge if I'm not mistaken.) QC 2/3 is not compatible with type c power delivery. QC 4 has the ability to use both, but not QC 2 (which is what it looks like the gs8 uses). So to answer your question, I doubt it. I think the voltage on type c can handle more, so it may charge faster than micro USB, but not as fast as Quick Charge. If you just need a new battery, I'd look for one with type C input/output as well as quick charge 3 and USB power delivery. This article helped a lot when I was looking for a battery pack for the Note 7.

Thank your for the link, that will be handy for a few of my friends, I might have even read that a while back too(it looks familiar, but I can't recall). I understand the differences. I was trying to answer the OP's question at the time saying I wasn't sure what standard over USB-C the S8/S8+ was using.. so I didn't know which batteries would "fast charge" the S8/S8+ but they all should work to charge at some rate..
I'm set with batteries.. I already have that RAV (since I have a Pixel, Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X, HP Elite X3, Lumia 950, Huawei p9 for work which all use USB-C), and a few Anker and Aukey in various sizes/capacities that support 5V/2.4A and QC2/3 for my Samsung and apple phones/tablets.
As far as I can tell, with USB-C "Power Delivery" we don't need quickcharge anymore. PD is the new industry standard equivalent of QC, is being pushed by Google, is the only one fully and officially compatible with the USB-C spec and will likely be REQUIRED in future versions of android (https://arstechnica.co.uk/gadgets/2...mm-quick-charge-with-android-incompatibility/). There is no longer any reason to be looking for Quick Charge unless you want to continue to use your existing equipment. What you should be looking for is Power Delivery compatible equipment and cables instead, as they will be future proof. Once Google force PD to be used in future versions of android, QuickCharge will die (thankfully) and we can have a single charging spec that everyone can have guaranteed compatibility with without paying royalties to Qualcomm. Frankly its great news that the S8 has PD (although I am not entirely sure if it is actually using it for fast charging or not), it means I can buy PD gear without having to go out and buy QC stuff thatll probably be obsolete in a year or so.

Where did you see that the gs8 has USB power delivery? Also I dont see quick charge going away especially since quick charge 4.0 supports USB power delivery. http://www.anandtech.com/show/10846/qualcomm-announces-quick-charge-4
I would love to see a single standard adopted and Google forcing oems to use USB-PD is awesome, I don't seen quick charge giving up that easy.

I read in a couple of places but nothing official and I am not sure if it applied to the SD835 or the Exynos as well, I would imagine both support it but whether Samsung has enabled it is perhaps another matter, something we could do with finding out! Samsung as clear as ever saying it has "fast charging" which means absolutely nothing. It obviously charges quickly, but what bluddy charging standard is it using when it does it!? I have heard that it only has QC2.0 not 3.0 or 4.0, which isn't particularly fast so I suspect it might be using PD for its max speeds.
It's really starting to piss me off. These devices are out there, quite a few people now have them and we still have unanswered BASIC questions like what charging method is it using and does it support UHS-II or UHS-III SD cards. Samsung support are clueless as always, the documentation tells us absolutely nothing and so far I haven't found an answer to either despite hours of searching!

I know I read the sd835 supported USB-PD, but I thought the Exynos didn't. Either way, every video I've seen makes it seem like we're only getting QC 2.0.

Well... my S8+ arrived today... So I did some tests to confirm...
As suspected, QC2 over USB-A to USB-C cable (one was included with the GS8+) is how it rapid charges.
Using the GS8+'s cable with my older Anker Powercore+ 10050 (which supports QC2.0 output), the S8+ fast charges. Using Choetech and Anker USB-A to USB-C cables and a Tronsmart 5-port multi-usb charger w/QC2.0 support, the GS8+ also reports fast charging.
Using the USB-C to USB-C cable that came with my pixel, and the USB-C port on my RAVPower 20100mAh (link in an earlier post), or my Pixel's wall adapter, the GS8+ reports "charging". So Samsung is NOT supporting USB-C Power Delivery like is found on the Pixel, Nexus 6P, etc.
If you want, I can provide Amazon links to all items as a reference.

This proves that the S8 doesn't support PD but we still don't know for sure that it does not support QC3

Short of timing a charge cycle using a known QC2 charger vs using a known QC3 charger, is there a way to tell? (The Ravppwer battery I have supports QC3 and I have Anker QC2 and QC3 wall chargers, and of course the Tronsmart QC2 wall charger and Anker PowrCore+ that supports QC2)
The wall plug included with the GS8+ is the same as the one with my GS7. Based on listed outputs, it's QC2. From what I understand QC3 goes down to 3.2v which isn't listed as output voltage. if the GS8/8+ supported QC3, I would have hoped they included a charger that supported it.

Quick Charge 3.0 is really more about efficiency and battery health then charging faster. Since Samsung fast charge is really just a subset of Quick Charge 2.0 anyway, it is possible for the phone to support 3.0 even with the same charger in the box.
In the end the only way we'll really know for sure is if Samsung ever confirms it or someone on this forum uses and in-line voltage meter while charging the phone to see if the voltage changes in 200 mv increments that quick charge 3.0 supports
i wanted to order this Auky car charger.. is it any good?
by the way im using the exynos version if its make a different

Good day.
Could you recommend some proven charging cable?
Looking for a usb-c cable longer than the one included in the kit.
What to look for with such a cable?
What parameters are important?
Are there any proven brands (Ugreen, Blitzwolf, Baseus)?
I am interested in something longer - from 2 meters.
Thank you in advance for your help.

iirc you need one that is a USB 3.0 (or higher) cable in order to get turbo charging.
something like this should work, but i have not tried it
Anker Powerline USB 3.0 3m
I am using baseus cables and they are really good quality (turbocharging works fine) and 1/4 of price of this anker cable.
