Hi all! In LG Optimus L7 (P700) thread we need some serious help. Our phone has a lot potential for development but unfortunately we luck from developers. The only thing we have is proper rootin tool but we don't have custom recovery yet...As a result, we can't port Rom's and we can't have the benefits of a custom recovery...Is there any developer willing to help us? There are a lot people in thread willing to try and test your effort in our phone and of course willing to donate! It's a pitty having a very nice and elegant android phone and yet no custom recovery...Please help us!:fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed:

Here is our development thread but we only got working root tool for v10i. It's just funny that from what I saw (sorry I checked your info) you are from Australia and in my previous phone (Galaxy 3 i5800) an Australian guy was one of the main developers! Hooray for Australia!!!

Haha hell yeah, go Australia
All good you checked my info, no problems. Many Aussie devs live on this forum, including myself
Question for YOU though, how did you root? I'm on the latest update, I'll have to check later, but if I downgrade to root, do I lose my data?

No. This method gives a recovery that could allow the phone to get bricked. It is no longer supported
OP, please read "[ref] read before rooting" in my signature first.

really? do you believe that you're the first person to ask for a rooting guide? you're not, which means you shouldn't have posted, but instead followed one of the guides on xda, which are easily found. hell, there's a link on the section list page.

Depends when you rooted. The bug was only identified in November and fixes only released in January

Really you should follow an xda guide, no point in linking to another site....if you have a query about their method you should address them, I can guarantee their method is copy/paste or rewrite of an xda post anyway.

Hi there,
You might want to check out samsung galaxy III toolkit here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1703488.
It is a fairly easy to understand command tool which will root your phone and also install custom recovery (which is essential IMO if you want to try different ROMs later on).
Okay. I have done the research and surfed every possible forum that i can see from (however i could be wrong) and still have yet to find a way to unbrick this phone successfully. I have tried everything from One Clicker to Odin to Kies and none seem to work. I would greatly appreciate any advice on this device from anyone that has one and bricked it or knows someone who has bricked it. I am not looking for a miracle just a friendly solution that will maybe help not only me but i am sure many other unfortunate US cellular Mega victims that have yet to get their hands on the official firmware. In the mean time i will continue to tinker and if i came across any thing i will update as soon as possible. Thanks in advance and hopefully myself or someone else can find a solution.
Okay updating status on this unfortunately everything I tried did not work. So to save any us cellular mega users a heart ache hold off on rooting until a valid real root for this provider and model omes out. Or at least until the official firmware is released. Sorry I could not find a viable solution.

Do you get some IMEI issue after this?(i mean showing NULL in IMEI option and unknown Baseband.)
I had bricked my phone at the time of installing TWRP with Autorec.apk because phone comes installed with D80220b firmware and when i flashed phone got into Fastboot mode.(After that i have discovered that it has D800 hardware in it. After some flashes and searching(the method you posted) i successfully got it back but with IMEI issue. LG Flash tool is detecting my IMEI at the time of flashing but in phone its showing NULL.
I have tried this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2701861 but stuck at Step 7 getting some "disk error" . Any way do you know?
the orginal repair using this method orginated by me in the spring lg g2 threads under general, in proper credits here, i wrote the fix on jan 2nd, while thi thread started on jan 15th heres my thread i wrote to fix this problem, i do however like this guide so that credit you deserve just please if ya find a thread and feel you have a better way of explaining at least post link to the sourse where you obtained your information. The LGUP.dll's seem to share a common name on all variants but are different sizes. Thus far I have not found one that will work across all devices.
Have you found that one should use the LGUP.dll for the actual variant of the phone (internal hardware wise), or use the dll for the variant that Flash Tools believes the phone to be?

Again, I have not found that to be true. LGUP.dll files can be extracted from kdz's. Depending on which variant's kdz was used, that file, although called the exact same name across all variants, are different. They vary in size. And I have observed multiple instances where using the wrong LGUP.dll results in a failed flash.

I am not all all discrediting your guide at all i think this guide is better then mine and i promote passing information throughtout the forms, this is our job, the dll file and guide i wrote was referenced by another thread that was seriously almost close to non imposssible to find and after obtaining the tools to apply this fix it was days after i decided to post a sloppy guide, i did mention (http://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-g2/help/soft-hard-unbrick-build-prop-stuck-t2981228) that i retieved the informatoin somewhere on the forms just could not re find the orginal person who provided the dll file to fix this issue, i do not want you thinking i replied to take any credit for you, so with that said
I thank you for your hard work and this awesome guide you provided to the XDA Community and I apologize for any misunderstanding.
i beleive I thanked you post here as well.
