[Q] Not Registered on the Network

Hi Guys
I updated my S3 to a small critical update, not 4.1.2 and it was a OTA update and now the phone will not make a call, it keeps displaying " not registered to the Network" but it has a data connection i am able to surf the net, I have checked and the phone is not blocked or on the blacklist or reported stolen but I had unlocked the phone via Unlocker.com a few months ago.No UK SIM i.e. (Vodafone Tmobile Three) will make a call through my phone
I have
Wiped Device to factory settings
Flashed a stock rom JB I9300 4.1.2
Flashed Custom Rom "I9300_Omega_v4.2_AOKP_Milestone_1_Jelly_Bean"
Flashed my Operator Rom back on
I have not backed up my EFS Folder and would not know how to
Reset flash counter
Now My IMEI number has changed but on the IMEI SV number, on the back of my phone the IMEI number ends with a ***** /09 but now I have flashed it ends with a /06 .... will that cause a issue, The long SIM number has not changed on the phone.
any suggestions please as I fear that if I send it off to samsung they will not fix as the IMEI SV number has changed and will charge me as they will sate it is out of warranty

I kindly suggest you to ask mods to move this to Q&A section.

Unable to Register On network

Hi this is starting to really bug me now Im unable to register on a network I get signal bars but only get emergency calls only tried dfferent sim cards and reverted back to latest official stock to no avail any suggestions please
As per multiple identical posts .
First is your IMEI correct
Are your mobile network settings correct
sim card correct and tested
correct modem and csc.
jje
Check your IMEI number. Sometimes, when we flash custom ROM, the phone looses its IMEI number. If it's true, you must use an EFS backup to restore it.
Second solution : your mobile phone was blacklisted (if it was considered as stollen).
Network
Hi thanks for the reply I have been searching I've checked my imei in status and it matches details under battery compartment i'm still paying for the phone (pay weekly) so no reason it would be blacklisted ok just tried another different sim card on Vodafone official s3 stock rom and it registered hmmm im on talktalk which uses voda I know this sim works but i'll get them to send me a new one thanks for your time guys

[Q] Generic Imei i9300 galaxy s3

Greetings , I have a i9300 galaxy s3 I've found on the street and 1 month ago, it worked perfectly mobile , up to 1 week or so and let me take out coverage Not registred .
I was reading a lot about this and some were saying it was because the switch to a cooked rom or change to another might have missed the imei , since I had not backed the EFS folder I see a problem.
I've tried everything , both ariza patch , like changing to different versions of old rom and go put the patch ariza earlier, I've also tried changing the modem to different versions and different companies , but nothing.
I have also tried to reverse engineer the imei in mode, but will not let me enter the codes that appear on the Internet .
In order that no longer do, the strange thing is that in the list of networks appears to me Optus, Telstra etc, and give to connect and I appear properly connected , therefore I dismiss the imei this reported so it is .
And you see me imei is generic , not the original imei .
Can anyone help me ? .

[Q] Official network unlock not working i9300

Hi everyone,
I come to you as I am a noob as far as twinkering with my gt i9300 goes and I think I messed it up big time.
Here is what I did :
I had android 4.2.1 on my gt i9300, the stock rom from sfr (french career).
I network unlocked it using my career official unlock code, which worked great. It recognized my japanese career sim very well (i am in japan now).
Then I got greedy and wanted to update my android version so I downloaded a 4.4 android rom from I don't remember well, and a cwm manager.
The network unlock worked fine at first but after a restart it did not work anymore. It asked me for a network unlock pin.
I thought it was asking for a sim pin at first, which my sim did not have as I hadn't set one. I got mad trying sim pin code and gave up. Had I given it the network unlock code instead of possible sim pin code it might have worked but I will never know.
Then I tried to solve the problem installing android 5.1 cyanogen version but I had the same problem except this time I understood it was asking for the network unlock code. The problem is that when I fed it to him, it did not work, the request was unsuccessful.
So I looked for a solution on internet and found all kind of things:
I read about restoring the efs partition, but i do not have any back up.
I read about installing a stock rom version, change the csc and retry the official network unlock code, but it does not work, whether I restore through Kies (which gives me a vodafone version) or manually (with an sfr version, french vodafone it seems).
I read about installing Galaxy simunlock app after rooting the phone and installing userbox, but it tells me that my locking system is not handled as it is too new.
I upgraded, downgraded, rooted in every possible way but nothing works.
I am running out of solution and I therefore turn to you for help, hoping you will be more creative than me.
I have the official network unlock code, the phone, no back up of any kind and really little hope.
Thank you in advance for any help you could give me !
Have a nice day !
Sadly you didn't make a backup of efs. That should be first thing before playing with customs.
Oh well, I suppose your efs may be screwed up due to entering couple times bad network unlock key.
I suggest go to next corner GSM shop and pay 2400JPY for efs fixing and perm sim unlock. But before that, check your IMEI and serial number are correct. Thay can fix all of this in one step.
You need to do this via box, you can't reprogram that or fix yourself because you did everything that may help and you still have a problem. You can't use any software on efs v2. It will not work.

Thank you for your quick answer !
I will follow your advice and go to a "professional".
However I don't understand how they are able to do what I can't, do they have special softwares or anything ?
I would like to know because I do have the official unlock code.
Also, I would still like to upgrade to android 5.1 cyanogen version, do you think it will be possible after such a modification ?
I should not encounter any risk if I backup the efs beforehand right ?
Thank you again
Service will connect your phone to, so called, box, ie Z3X Box. This is some kind of pc-phone bridge hardware which can alow to decrypt and encrypt efs files, fix IMEI, serial number, flash firmware, IMEI certificate, remove network locks, sim locks etc.
Of course you can backup your efs now but it is corrupted and useful. Backup this partition after repair. Than you will be able to flash anything you want. Even CM12.1,no problem.

Ok I understand better now.
Thank you very much for your answers, they have been really helpful !
Do not let them plug your phone to the box if you want to install 4.4 or 5.0 because if you give them they will replace your imei number with a clon imei number and you will stuck with max 4.3 and you need to install a patched modem and kernel every time you format your phone... tell them to try to fix without replacing your imei number first. Replacing the imei number should be the last thing to do...
Why do you think they will clone his phone's IMEI? It's even illegal.
If someone doesn't know how to use box than he should not work in GSM service.
You can rewrite original IMEI and serial number without cloning anything.
An probably IMEI is fine, it's network lock problem.

Most repair shops dont care its legal or not. Also most costumers dont know this kind of things and as long as phone is working its okay for them. Mine is just a warning to make him look like he knows this things so repairman doesnt do something with no going back...

No Signal on Samsung Galaxy S10 5G G977N Korean version (Exynos)

Hi, i have bought G977N and later came to know that its IMEI is tampered to get registered on the local networks. it was working before i upgraded it to G977NKOU4CTG1, the original firmware was G977NKSU2BSL7. After upgrading it did not register any of the networks. Got it checked from software expert he told me the network patching done with tempered imei was damaged and now there is no way to do it again on new version G977NKOU4CTG1. I tried to flash G977NKSU2BSL and also the factory firmware of android pie but ODIN get stuck at BOOT.img and download screen shows non-supported version. Can any one help to restore my original IMEI and will it work.
The IMEI ( read: International Mobile Equipment Identity ) is a unique numerical identifier ( 14-17 digits ) for every mobile device what helps to differentiate each device from one another. If you take your phone in for repair, they will track it using the IMEI to distinguish it from the other millions of phones, for example.
IMEI basically has nothing to do with phone's local network settings at all. But it may be used to unlock a phone on certain networks.
The IMEI is stored on phone's /EFS partition and/or /EFS folder. If you didn't backup that before flashing you have lost, IMO, unless you still have the box in which the phone was delivered, because there is usually the IMEI printed, too.
I don't have the box of the phone. The seller has tempered the imei to get it registered on the local network. I didn't backup before flashing. Now what to do. How to downgrade to previous firmware. I tried to flash the previous firmware but it stuck in boot.img.
They told me solution is available for U3 binary but no solution is available for U4 binary.
Awaiting for help on this issue.
You should have returned the device. Since the imei has been tampered with you will not get much help here. Imei changing and tampering is illegal in most countries. And it's not discussed on xda

I'm guessing you also bought a tampered IMEI device. Take it to any local market where there are plenty of phone 'software repair' guys. Ask them if they have Chimera or z3x tool. They'll fix your problem for ~800 PKR.
Remember, if you buy such devices, don't flash anything on them. Every time you do, you'll need to go back to the same software guy and pay him to fix your signal issue.
=========================
For other people reading this comment - Yes I understand IMEI tampering is illegal in most countries. The reason people in Pakistan buy these phones is because the government has levied unreasonable duties on all imported devices, without any consideration for the age/condition. For example, a used/refurbished S10 that costs you 250 USD in the US, will have custom charges of about 250 USD applied to it if you want it to work in Pakistan. So basically you pay double.
I have this same issue somtimes the signal comes and somtimes it doesnt.
