Hey everyone
Got my s6 edge today but unfortunately it has the o2 logo on boot up.
Is it possible to flash a unbranded (btu if that is correct) firmware on the phone without tripping the knox on to the phone? I don't want to root just want to remove the branded firmware.
If so do I do it with odin?
Appreciate the help
Thanks
Yes and yes
i want to debrand my s6 edge now i have unlocked it. does anyone know what firmware is unbranded. my CSC states O2U. sorry, bit of a noob at this.
Hi, should be ok! I flashed mine to unbranded Aus firmware. As long as it is stock firmware signed by samsung it shouldn't trip knox.
sammobile should be able to help you get the unbranded version. What is your model?

Hi,
I currently have a samsung galaxy s3 branded on at&t running on 4.1.1 (model: SGH - 1747)
However, it does not have chinese language on it and I need to have it installed. After searching the web, it seems the only way is to flash a firmware over it. How do I do this?
I had downloaded Odin and a Unbranded firmware. However I'm not sure if the firmware is right for it. I9300XXDLJ4
If I flash this firmware over my existing at&t branded on, would it work ? Or will the phone not work anymore?
Thank you.
It's urgent.

Frankly, I think that's impossible. I have a Galaxy SIII GT-I9308, which is customed for CHINA MOBILE. When I flash XXELLA and replaced the modem.bin, it seems to be bricked....
DON'T FLASH IT!
You don't have an international i9300 do you! So don't flash it or you will possibly end up with a paperweight
Hi all am having loads of problems with my s6 and I am desparate to get the next update and debranding the phone. Are there any things that could go wrong or is this a safe proceedure. And is it safe to flash the g925f btu over o2 UK software?
I've done it, went without a hitch, running 5.1.1 unbranded on my O2 edge.
Hi,
I have had a S6 Edge for 2 years, I bought it from Samsung but flashed a Vodafone ROM onto it from Samfirmware. I have given it to my son who wants to use a BT Mobile SIM on the phone so I flashed the phone using a BTU ROM, again from Samfirmware. The phone is saying that it is locked. How is this possible if the phone has been flashed and factory reset? Can anyone help me get the phone unlocked as Vodafone's NUC is not working and they have no clue why it's not working.
ROM is G925FXXU5EQE7 and my CSC is BTU (multi-CSC).
Flashed from G925FXXU5EQE7_G925FBTU5EQD2_BTU
Thanks

Take it to a Vodafone shop snd they should unlock it there and then.
BTU rom is not a BT mobile rom. Its just the csc of the firmware. The BTU rom is just generic uk firmware.
Sometime today i get a new s9+ it will come with the vodafone uk bloatware on, if i was to flash the btu firmware would that count as unofficial firmware and trip knox?
No, so long as you don't root your phone, you should be fine.
Thats good to know
I dont suppose anyone has yet made an app that allows you to remove system apps without root?
Package disabler pro. You'll have to search for it.
Hi Melliwuk - did you end up flashing your phone to BTU? What was your experience? I have S9+ (SM-G965F) and am on an O2/O2/O2 CSC and want to switch to BTU, but like you don't want to trip Knox! TIA

Flashing official Samsung firmware with Odin will never trip KNOX, only flashing custom software like roms, kernels and recovery will trip KNOX.

As @gee2012 said above, flashing official firmware won't trip Knox.
You just flash the firmware files in Odin. It's quite straight forward. Follow this guide: https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...ficial-stock-firmware-thread-samsung-t3764479
You can download the latest BTU firmware here: https://updato.com/firmware-archive-select-model?record=C397FC9F516E11E89F15FA163EE8F90B
Many thanks for the confirmation and the links @gee2012 and @the_scotsman!
hey but do we have the same problem like the s8? I mean with the CSC code, that if i flash the BTU I will have the default CSC and for have problems with samsung pay?
