Hello,
i know there are some threads that has have the same problem but i am german and its very hard to understand....
So my problem is:
I got a Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray AV 2.3.4
Today i installed the bootloader with fastboot and i follow this tutorial
Sony_Ericsson_Xperia_Ray:_Full_Update_Guide (on cyanogenmod)
its a CM7 Sony Ericsson Ray Tutorial //i can´t post the link here....?!
I used the newest stable mod (update-cm-7.1.0.2-XperiaRay-ST18i-signed.zip).
but after the last step, i reboot my phone and the only that i got is the CM7 loadscreen...
So thats why i try Wipe Dalvik Cache, wipe cache and factory...
Than i reboot again with the same result. Only the CM7 loadscreen.
Than i want to try flash an other ROM but there is no longer a Bootloader on my Phone...? Why?
Fastboot is possible but no data transfer and no debugmode or anything else.
Please use search and questions thread

YOU need to use the right thread
Download the ftf file for .42 firmware HERE and use flashtool to flash it, plug your phone in with usb to pc while holding down on volume the light should go green and then you can flash the ftf in flash mode
if that fails you need to make sure you have a cm kernel flashed using flashtool

The answers to all your problems are there, all you need to do is look and search. There is no need to panic it can fixed, but first look to fix it yourself and make sure you no what you are doing and how to put it back if it doesnt work, should always read the whole thread of what rom or kernel you are flashing to make sure you understand in first

Are you reffering to MTP?
What you you done before getting this issue?
Sent from my ST17i using Tapatalk
Thanks for responses, frankly I don't know what happend to it, it came to me already broken, trying to flash but it won't enter it in msc mode (@ puppet13th: yes, I was reffering to mtp), and I don't know how to switch to msc because it doesn't boot. Thanks a lot for your help
Is there a way to switch it to msc with adb push or something? Anyone can help me?

Enter flashmode for flashtool
Hey....i don't think you need to switch it to MSC mode for flashing.... did you try to enter flashmode by holding "Volume down" button while inserting the USB cable into the phone ? Are you trying to flash it via Flashtool ( it is the easiest way ) ?

Yes, I tried to flash it with flashtool, but it won't recognize the phone, holding volume down while inserting usb, and the mini led light up orange, so... what else can I do? .. thanks
Did You switch the phone off before that?
Procedure is:
1) Switch off the phone (remove battery if needed)
2) Press "volume down" and hold
3) Put he USB cable in.
Do You see driver installation dialog running in windows? wait until it finishes.
4) Start the flashtool
5) Flash the ROM.
Yes, I did exactly the same, but it doesn't install the drivers
Sent from my LG-P500 using Tapatalk
Then You need to install either Sony PC companion or form the Sony develeoper site the proper drivers.
Sony PC Companion You find here
Pc companion will install all the SE xperia drivers You need.

You have drivers in Flashtool folder under : \flashtool\drivers install them , and accept all of the installation requests by Windows . Or install official drivers from Sony or from Google's SDK source .
:Flash a new kernel via FASTBOOT and install a rom or reflash the firmware with wotan client that worked for me

I did it like this: connect phone in fastboot mode, then i installed the drivers manually when this is not working plug out your phone install PDA net on your computer, connect your phone in fast boot mode and the program will install the drivers
Sorry for my bad english
when you plug in your usb while holding volume down key the led should be green not orange.
green led means the phone is in flashmode.

hi this not help ,any idea?
This may help you 90%... just try it
I also have bricked up my Xperia Neo V
I tried many tools but no one helped.....
Finally I got back my bricked phone back by doing following things....
download all the needed things you need to update phone with wotan X tool unlock, you will need
1. X_Unlock_Tool_Setup_Wotan
2. WotanClient
3. USBFlashDriver
you can get all these from wotan website.
also create an account on wotan website. NO NEED TO BUY ANY CREDITS
install all above mentioned tools.
then run X UNLOCK TOOL
then follow on screen instructions untill you get an error that you don't have sufficient credits.
NOTE THAT NOW YOUR PHONE HAS GOT A SIM LOCK CERTIFICATE FROM THIS TOOL. BUT THE POSITIVE ASPECT IS THAT YOU CAN NOW FLASH ANY ftf FILE USING FLASH TOOL. SIM LOCK WILL BE REMOVED AFTER THE WHOLE PROCESS.
now flash the desired firmware on your phone.
power up your phone
if it power ups successfully, then your phone will not detect your SIM card.
finally use S1 tool to remove SIM LOCK CERTIFICATE.
CLICK THANKS IF IT WORKS
BEST OF LUCK

I am using an Unlocked Bootloader Xperia Ray and it got bricked when I tried to flash in Cyanogen mod 7 for Xperia Ray...
Now I am trying to flash stock roms using Flashtool but it is requiring me to be in Flasmode which obviously I can't do it. I have done the steps but it wont recognize my phone.
I am also trying to figure how to flash a kernel but every kernel that I download comes in an *.img format but FLASH TOOLs require FTF file to flash the kernel.. how can I do it?

Try to install the drivers that are in the /drivers folder where you installed flashtool, otherwise install Sony Update Service or PC Companion to get the proper drivers for your phone. Fastboot is not supported on the U20, so choose flashmode for anything you want to do.

Yes i did these things. i plug device to pc , everything workss good , i get run bootloader -> i must unplug the device -> press back and plug in. After that log writes 'cancelled' no drivers atd. :/
My Xperia Mini st15i has ICS 4.0.1.B.431 and i wanted to flash kernel 4.0.1.B.587 because my ICS is a custom ROM, meaning i couldn't do the official update of the kernel so... long story short i accidentally flashed the kernel for JB(don't ask me how, similar file names from same developer etc...). So since that i can't turn on the phone, no reaction what so ever, neither i can't plug in the phone via flashmode nor fastboot so that i can correct that mistake, no led indication, not even indication that it is offline charging, flashtool and official pc companion software are not detecting the phone when plugged in the computer. Please help. Any suggestions what to do? Thanks in advance...
Check sticky thread by someguyfromhell, if not solved, maybe it's a hardbrick.
Sent from my Nokia 3310 using Tapatalk 2
I contacted the developer from which kernel i used. He believes it's a hardbrick.
So there's no chance to recover it to be functional in any mode?
I managed to save it . Luckily my phone was only softbricked and after i re-installed flashtool(with fastboot and flashmode drivers, which came with the program) and PC Companion with official phone drivers, i plugged in the phone in fastboot mode and luckily it activated that mode and flashmode as well. Then I flashed the correct kernel for the ICS and it turned on after that
Just takeout your battery wait fir a second and put it back
Flaah your keenel again and install your rom

IF your phone doesn't boot you'll need to use USB cable and flashtool or fastboot to recover, but since your usb port is broken i guess there's nothing you can do sorry
I would send the phone to sony service to get the usb port fixed...
Edit: one more thing, candy rom is not stock based and requires an unlocked bootloader, if you didn't unlock your BL before flashing that's why you bricked.... but you could still recover if your phone usb port worked.

Flashing any stock rom should fix your kernel problem now either flash a .ftf with flashtool, or try recovering your phone in sony pc companion.
I prefer flashtool for flashing as i never had problems with it and it's easy to set-up and work.
If you don't know how to use flashtool take a look at this: http://www.xperiablog.net/2014/06/01/debrand-your-xperia-z2-tutorial/
Hope you get your device fixed :good:

Humm weird, try flashtool once again, maybe with another .ftf or another pc, select all wipes, choose flashmode, make sure your phone is completely powered-off, when flashtool asks to connect just keep pressing volume down and plug the usb cable. flashing should start fine now.

Nope after 1 minute flash mode turns off automatically soo now here is what I did
Step 1 downloaded sony c s
Step 2 installed supprot
Step3 press update device without contcing to pc
Step 4 chose repair
Step 5 go with it and put it in flash mode
Step 6 before it finishs it will take a long time
Then it will only charge you can't press the power button for some reason
Step 7 go to flash tool start flash mode and it will reboot automatically
Step8 you will be in safe mode go to settings and format the phone
Step 9 it will reboot and into normal mode
Step 10 root through king root and termanil to make it a real root not temporarliy
Step 11 enable usb debugging and install recovery
Step 12 copy the rom from pc to recovery
Step 13 installed the rom everything is amazing except for one problem
I still can't press the power button I don't think it's hardware help me
That's it thanks for everything tell me if you know anything about the power button
@Sal7_one Wow that was way more complicated than it should but i'm glad your phone is working again :good:
Did you open your phone to fix the usb port? or did you send it somewhere? unfortunately the power button situation does seem like hardware problem...

But one more problem sim card does not work yes I went to repir it thanks
@Sal7_one humm pwr button working when it wants and sim card problems... that sounds like a bad repair job they probably left a cable / connector loose inside your phone :| i would take it to the same place and make them check / repair the phone again
