use thjap stock rom here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1193001
he upgraded some of the system apps to 2.3.7
as far as battery drain, the phone is going to drain battery from somewhere as long as your battery isnt draining excessively, then it shouldnt matter!?
try that rom given by kumayam. it's the most awesome rom i've ever seen. ^^
If only there's an AOSP ROM

[Q] Battery help!!!!!!

Hi guys! I recently purchased a new battery hoping that it would solve my battery problem with my unrooted, stock, sgh-i777. I heard that rooting and installing a rom could improve battery life and performance greatly. I currently get 5-6 hours with little to no usage. If I were to root and install a cusom rom, what rom do you suggest I use for battery life?
If you are accustomed to stock and would like to continue with the Samsung Touchwiz type interface, then Cooked, with AJK v4.9 kernel, or SHOstock3 v4.0 are both stable and have developers who are still active here. When configured correctly, the phone should drain about 1% per hour on idle.

Debloated, optimized, stock ROM

Guys, I've looked through the threads here but I can't seem to find a rom which is stock, but debloated and optimized. I am on CM11 now but I am experiencing very bad battery life and some instability. I will be passing my S3 to my daughter soon and I would like to have a stable rom with good performance and battery life. It would be best if the ROM would be a modded stock rom which includes the factory languages, Icelandic to be exact
Can anyone point me in the right direction? It doesn't need to be Kit Kat, just a stable and fast rom.
Thanks!

giving me error file corrupt, redownloading doesn't help, flashed 8 different versions of twrp
@bjornvil: I guess your daughter often uses internet - then JB or KK are too unsecure. I recommend an AOSP-MM-ROM: Haxynox or Slim (fewer features than CM and its clones, but fewer bugs and lite).

Which ROM should I use?

Hello guys!
You have probably had a lot of similar questions regarding this topic, but I can't find any clear answer myself.
I have watched a lot of videos about CyanogenMod, Carbon ROM, ArchiRom (can't remember the exact name) and even a ROM called "Energy HD".
It's great that there are so many possibilities regarding ROMs, but it also tends to confuse me quite a bit - I personally do like a clean ROM, just with the basic Apps installed (Internet Browser e.g.), I also would like to have a nice battery performance and, thirdly, the possibility to chose which Apps I would like to install.
I hope you guys get what I'm trying to say.
Thanks in advance.
Kind regards,
Crash1k
There is no such thing as a best rom as this is subjective. The only way for you is to read and try the roms that seems the most appropriate in regards to your wishes.

Thank you for your help.
I have installed the latest ArchiDroid ROM. Everything works fine there, besides two things: I have random shutdowns and GravityBox doesn't seem to work, since there is already another Launcher installed (Google Now). I haven't found a way to fix that yet. Can anyone help?
Greetings,
Crash1k
-for me best rom for galaxy s3 is Archidroid v3.0.2 because it include a lot of optimizations , you can try it with boeffla kernel (CM11)
-Rom who include a lot of options ported from another roms is Temasek ( it include a lot of things like gesture lockscreen ...) , try it with boeffla kernel
-if you want maximum battery life, turn to touchwizz rom based on 4.3( Omegar rom or Android revolution) or 4.4.4 ( Blekota Note 4 or blekota s5)
I guess I will move away from ArchiDroid, since it randomly reboots several times a day, and there doesn't seem to be any support. Well, at least I tried it.
if you want a good battery life i suggest to you Liquidsmooth 3.2: it has a lot of configuration and a good battery life by the battery life mode that at off-screen change to off wifi, data, sync, kill all the applications... if you want another i say Resurrection remix 5.1.5. based on 4.4.2. Very stable and daily usable. A nice kernel for both the roms is boeffla.

Battery Backup? Any Kernels or ROMs?

Hey Folks,
I'm searching for a kernel or a rom with good battery backup. I used CM12, AICP and Resurrection Remix and came to a conclusion that AICP has the best battery backup among them. Its battery backup is like what we can find in CM11 4.4.4. But sadly I'm facing alot of bugs with AICP now and then so don't wanna use it anymore.
I can do regular updates or testing but I'll busy with RL stuff.
So, can you guys suggest me a good kernel or a rom to use for battery backup?
Try 5.1. stock lollipop. I get about 24hours of battery juice with 50-70% display brightness. its pretty decent.
We want custom not stock rom.
Finally got one. I'm using SOKP n I feel it's the best one in terms of battery backup n performance.
