Rooted with ping pong root. Everyhtings going fine. Still able to use play store. Somewhere along the lines i messed it up by installing lucky patcher, freedom, and market unlocker. I think it was lucky patcher..anyone know how to fix the retry error for playstore?
Bump?
Wipe the Playstore's app data in Settings and see if it works.. Have you tried Google? If this one works you could have saved over 24h.
Ive done everything. I deleted the the playstore to but it seems to not wanna re download.

How do you mean? when you search in the market app, are you saying that they simply don't come up?
are you running a custom rom or are you oem stock?
yes when i search they no longer come up
I'm on stock XEU (UK) KE7
can someone help ?
give me a few minutes... i'm gonna turn my phone off as I'm doing a bit of flashing. i#ll check market for those apps.
I can still find all of those apps in the market, might be a problem with your market then?
okay, I've just looked them up and found them on the market.
I'm quite the noob buddy, so all i can suggest is try to turn the phone off and then on.
sounds like an odd problem. the pros on here are bound to help
I don't know, what should I do then ? :S

Come on.... seriously?
Back on topic: If a factory reset doesn't fix it, it's probably a restriction put on by your carrier/region. Hence, root + marketenabler
Open market and go in settings and in content filtering select "show all apps" and u r done..
Hit THANKS if I helped..

I don't want to wipe my data that why i didn't try a factory reset
after alot of search it seems like restrictions on my region
it seems the only solution is as u said root + market enabler :S
I have the same problem, can't find quite a few apps on the Market, for example MSN Talk or Jefit. Now I tried to find Quadrant and Linpack, but couldn't even find those while before it found them np ! Can it be because I replaced the Vending.apk (with a themed one) ?
my friend just buy s3 from online seller in china..
dont know why google play not working..
it is because china retail firmware?
Does it have play installed?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
I am in China and am currently having the same problem. Play did not come installed on the phone and after I downloaded and installed it on my I9300 it doesn't load. blacks my screen for a split second then kicks me back to my home screen.
Any ideas?
What if you delete the current PhoneSky.apk from the system/App
and flash the current Gapps, that may fix it.
To properly install Play Store on the phone you need:
- a rooted phone
- a deodexed version of the APK
- NO DO INSTALL THE APK using the usual methods
- rename the APK to Vending.APK
- copy the APK to /system/app/Vending.apk
- reboot

I'm going total neophyte mode here: this is my first Android phone (former iOS dummy) and I have little experience using Android. My phone is rooted with the CF-root from Chainfire. As for deodexed APK, what exactly does that mean? Also, you mentioned that I need to copy it to a filesystem location...how to access that? Again, sorry for sounding like and idiot but this is all so incredibly new to me.
Google Apps
download google apps zipp and zip it to your phone and it should work again
goo.im/gapps/gapps-ics-20120429-signed.zip

I think its better to start from scratch as you are getting some problems.
Start from flashing stock rom via flashtool and then flash any custom rom
Hey Gooperz06
-Did you try to download applications from your pc, to check if without doing manually from mobile, tha applications, gets downloaded?
-Try to set another gmail account to check if works
-When i installed a new ICS rom sometimes (only each time that i open google play) gets me a timed out connection, but then i press try again or refresh and worked
-Try to install gapps again from xrecovery

Yeah... I just flashed to my stock rom and google talk authentication failed...what do i do now?
I'm sorry to say this but maybe your gmail account is buggered or you have done something wrong somewhere
TELL US EXACT STEPS YOU TOOK TO INSTALL SOFTWARE ON DEVICE!!
Flashtool versions? Rom version, official Rom or unofficial
Rooting / trying without root
Stock with seus
Remove sdcard
Boot up without rooting
Sign into google services
Download alogcat from market
Sign into talk
If it fails, post alogcat log here
Maybe we can determine what's broken
Can you access playstore on your pc?
Also
Don't use WiFi hotspot for market as most of them block certain services
Make sure you have android internet Bolt-on and not blackberry
Try to hard reset your modem / router to factory settings (maybe DNS issue)

if your PS blocked, try this
turn off data packets
open> application> Google playstore
click force stop, clear cache and data
reboot
open PS and login again
then try to download the app that you want
if that's not working for you, you can searching the app from internet, but like I've said, do with your own risk

Shame there's no way to download apk. Even in iTunes, it was possible to get ipa easily!
I won't buy any android phone anymore, full of security holes!

dude there are some ways -
you can go to play.Google.com and sign in with your registered mail id and select any app and the app will start getting downloaded on your phone.
ya internet is full of malware,I suggest if you have a antivirus containing site advisor on your pc,so that you can turn it on and download from only tested websites.
a few websites I know which are pretty good are wap.in patawap.com apkmania.com or probably Google <apk name version> .
coming to your view that android is full of security holes I beg to differ.
android will not get affected by any malware untill you yourself install it.
