What did you do?
Did you unlock bootloader? Did you flash something? etc
Give more info about what went wrong,
[deleted]
If you haven't messed with the bootloader or flashed some bad ROMs, then it's 90% a bad battery, I have seen this issue many times.
Same problem
Hello,
I've got the same problem. No response at all with any button combination or the red reset button.
If I connect the usb cable to charger or PC red LED turns on but nothing else. The PC doesn't recognize it, not even if I connect it with volume down pressed. I opened it and disconnected the battery. With the battery disconnected it has the same behaviour, only red light if connected.
Any ideas of what I could try?
I wouldn't expect a dead battery causing this. I mean, if the phone can get the power from the charger then it should turn on even with the battery disconnected right?
I was thinking to charge it for two days and see if anything happens, just in case. Otherwise I will need to think on how to discharge the battery manually and see what happens.
I don't to buy a new battery unless I am sure that will help...

I am aware this wont help you much, but if you bought it two weeks ago then you should return it to the seller and ask for a replacement. Is it a refurbished unit or a brand new device? Sony will replace or repair it for you.

Ok I'm really bitter right now. My wife and I each have an S2. Mine has been fine for the last 2 months and hers recently starting having problems. It keeps thinking that a USB cable is plugged in.
A Google search reveals that this is indeed a common hardware problem.
When you do a restart, you get the battery icon and flashing yellow triangle with the thermometer symbol. And the only way to get it to boot up is to plug it in.
The device functions fine other than that, but other than connecting to Kies via USB, there is no other USB related functions that is working.
Gonna give Samsung support a call and see how I can warranty this. Hoping it's not going to be a painful process.
Anyone else having the same problem? How did you resolve it? New replacement? Did they repair? How long did it take? What did you do?
Thanks.
I have the same problem, started with me recently, I had my phone with USB debugging mode on.
Can't confirm when it started for sure, but it may have been because I disconnected it from my computer once, before ejecting the device through windows explorer.
In any case, I can't turn on the phone now without removing the battery or having it plugged in.
I received the battery at 100% notification and it doesn't leave when I unplug the device.
It's become very flaky, and I don't like it. Did you have any luck with Samsung support?
Anyone have any information on this or another link to how to fix this? I'm getting the temperature gauge and can't figure out how to fix it!!

Brother had the same problem. Try adjusting the piece in the USB port of the phone either up or down. I used a small flat head screwdriver. Make sure the phone is off and battery out.
I'm not responsible for any further damage to the phone.

Yeah - get a replacement.
I had similar issues with mine. Took it to Carphone warehouse in uk. And they replaced usb port within 30 mins. Its a common fault.
Try to clean USB port.
This morning I just noticed this problem with my phone and I also noticed that under the battery stats it shows that the phone is always charging.
If I reboot the phone sometimes I lose about 20% from the battery, but then it starts to recharge although the phone is not plugged in.
I will try to change the battery with a friend of mine, maybe it's battery related, I will report back.
I suppose that the problem of discharging is:
A) when connected it can't enter in deep sleep mode
B) vbus_present eating battery

so many people keep starting new similar thread asking about how to resolve their bricked phone, they think that bricking the phone is like end of the world, although the solution is very simple.

Please help, my X10 mini isn´t recognized on my PC! I have tried with Back button, Home+Power buttons, Volume -, the Reset button on the back, unplug the battery and nothing seems to work! The red LED just blinked one time. What could i do? Obviously if the USB port can´t recognize my phone, i can´t use SEUS, PC Companion or Flash Tool, altough i already tried.
Sorry 4 my poor english
The red LED is that it is charging the phone battery from your charger and follow the guide

I know, but it just blinked one time, it´s not blinking anymore, not when i plug the charger/USB and not when i press the Power button.
It might be a broken USB port on my phone? What could i do?

This is great thanks, but there are already sooooooo many threads explaining exactly this and other ways to fix a bricked phone. Why the need for a new one?
Why not just search?

Yep, that´s my problem, i leave my phone plug to the USB all night but it doesn´t fix the problem. Without battery the phone can´t be found by the PC right?
@evilbarcode I know, there is a lot of threads of people fixing their phones, so I asked for help on this, not on a new thread. I have been searching but i suppose this is physical damage, maybe my battery or the USB port.
Thanks for your help.

My girlfriend has this tablet:
http://arnovatech.com/products/g3/arn_7/specs.html?country=mx&lang=en
and about a month or two ago the charging port in it got broken, so i've sent the tablet to be repaired. the guys at the repair shop did a good job and replaced the usb port, and the tablet was working again correctly, and charging correctly.
until this afternoon when she installed this game: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=air.com.disney.aliceinwonderlandmobile.goo
the battery got quickly drained (nothing strange though, it is an older budget-friendly tablet), the battery got to about 5% and she put it to a charger. the tablet notified that it is charging, and it was plugged in for a couple of hours, during which she didn't use the tablet. after that couple of hours, the tablet still showed charging and still showed that it is at 5% of battery power.
another problem is that it started to shutdown/turn on itself. i brought it to my place and plugged in my charger, and it continued the same behaviour: i plug it in, the red led light glows, it turns itself on, and just by the time the system boots itself and i want to unlock the screen, the tablet turns itself off, and the red led indicator also turns itself off.
i googled the problem and found a lot of topics saying that the battery is completely drained and that it just needs to stay plugged in over night. i followed some instructions to completely turn it off (hold power buttons for 10-20 seconds) and then to plug it in and leave it that way for at least a couple of hours. but the problem is that after i did that, when i plug the tablet in, it shows a symbol of an empty battery with a triangle in it and an exclamation mark inside the triangle! the red led does not glow and the battery/triangle/! symbol shows only for a short time, and then the screen goes off.
is there any way to fix this problem?
i've read somewhere that i should enter recovery mode (the tablet was rooted when i bought it brand new from the store), and erase battery stats, but i can't do that because there aren't any volume buttons. the only button is the power button, and the reset button (inside a small hole).
i would hate to reset her tablet, because of all the data on it
please help and advise, anybody!
thanks in advance!
EDIT: ADDITIONAL INFO: i googled and found the same picture that i get when i plug the tablet in or try to turn it on:

UPDATE:
I followed a friend's advice and plugged it in a charger with higher amperage. already after half an hour the tablet started to show first signs of life - instead of the triangle it started to show the charging animation. it ever started a power-up process (boot animation), but alas, shut itself off during the boot up process.
so i decided to leave it over night to make sure it got charged
this morning (after some 7 hrs), i tried to turn it on, and was surprised that the tablet gave no reaction at all! no animation, no battery symbol, nothing!
i plugged out the charger, and plugged it back in, and for a second, the red led lid up and then turned off. i tried to cautiously insert the charger cable, and found that at one position the led lights up, and the boot animation starts up, but only for about two seconds after what it shuts itself down once again.
is there any help to this devise at all? and any way to reach the data on it?
Same Here
I am getting the same as you but I plugged it in for the first time in months and the battery is reacting like it just got a virus. Its not a virus because before the issue, I backed up all data and reset the device. So, its either the connector, cable or the internal battery itself.
When this post was posted, spectrifyfunride was running a trickle charge on their Arnova 7h G3. If it works for me, it will work for you.
Hi folks,
My S2 wont turn on. Not when connected to a charger or via USB to my puter. It occasionally heats up whilst connected to charger/computer near the camera.
I had this same problem about 4 weeks earlier. Tried all sorts of stuff after reading around on the forums here : Remove battery. Let it discharge completely(for a day). Soft Reset. Hard Reset. Hit Power+vol up+menu button while inserting battery at the same time. No avail.
But after a couple of days of desperation, opened up odin3 v1.85. Connected the phone to computer via usb. Put the computer on sleep mode. Checked again after bout an hour or so. The phone had heated up near the camera. Removed the USB plug and hit power button. VOILA!!!! it started!!!! Another thing i must mention is that in ODIN. The ID:COM box (6 boxes) had turned yellow showing Port 1, 3, 5, 7, 6, 4 in random order. and in the Message Box it showed Port 1 : connected. Upto 7.
Phone was working fine for upto 4 weeks after that. Started acting funny again. Got random freezes. Then a couple of times the box saying : Unfortunately your gapps has stopped working, turned up. Couldnt get into play store. Powered off the phone to try to get into the recovery mode.
Again the same problem which I had faced 4 weeks earlier.
Been trying for about a week now. All the same methods tried earlier
Tried the method which worked earlier. with ODIN on, phone connected via USB charger. ID:COM box turns yellow(6 boxes) Phone heats up near battery. But it wont power on again like it had the last time.
Stock JB firmware present on phone
Would be a great help if anyone knew what the hell is going on with my phone. Help / Suggestions anyone ?!
Service centre - motherboard replacement, or source a 2nd hand board from a 'donor' phone somewhere & either swap it out yourself or pay a local mobile repair shop to do it.

Thanks! But dont want to give up just yet on it. Also the Service Centre guys in my city are nothing else but a bunch of thieves.
Have taken it to a service centre and shown it already, the options offered to me was they would force a software re-install, check the battery and also something about keeping the board immersed in some liquid for a day(was told that it 70% of the phones start up after that).
Just dreading the motherboard replacement, apart from wanting to spend on it.
Am attaching a screen shot of ODIN after I plug in the phone and leave it for bout an hour with the computer in sleep mode.
Tried it again but just wont turn on.

Im thinking its a failed ODIN Flash? Referring to the thred below.

Phone won't boot = replace motherboard.
Edit - You ostriching doesn't change the situation.
Hello,
My HTC DNA suddenly turned off while plugged in the charger and does not want to turn on. (I suppose it was fully charged)
When plugged into the charger, it has no signs of life the charging light does not even flash.
I have tried almost all the possible key combinations (Vol Up + Vol Down + Power, the same while being plugged in, etc...)
I have taken it apart, disconnected battery from the motherboard and left for several hours. That did not work also.
I tried to wake it up using different chargers and pc, that did not work also.
When it is plugged into the wall charger, the ac adapter warms up a bit.
What can else can I do to wake it up? I am in a desperate situation, because the only alternative at least for several months is Nokia XpressMusic with a bad screen and earspeaker. It is a big downgrade.
I have found threads with similar problems here and on other forums too, but still could not find solution.
Any idea will be VERY appreciated.
Thanks.
The issue you explain is the phone failing. It is an issue with the main board. The only solution is sending it to HTC for a board swap which was $180 last I checked for this device.

I brought it used and can't repair it under warranty. For $180 I can buy better phone, but I have no money at the moment.
Is not the motherboard repairable?
If we assume, that hardware of the phone is okey, what possible fixes of the issue are avialable?
Thanks.

Only other solution is jtag. It is a special module some skilled people have to force responses from phones. It is a long shot, but it might work.

Okey guys, I have a big update.
I have left my phone in a battery disconnected state for about 24 hours and it finally turned on. Then it had audio problems (squeezing noise only in speakers, sound in headphones was fine), after trying to make a call, it shut off itself again.
I have disconnected the battery again, flashed new rom and the problem with audio remains. In the beginning it had problems with charging, but after several minutes in the wall plug it began to charge.
By the way, I have lost the black tape, what was between the motherboard and case. I think, that the phone won't have problems without it. What do you think?

your problem is probabbly died tfa 9887 sound chip. you can take it from htc m7 and other motherboards.
