so many people keep starting new similar thread asking about how to resolve their bricked phone, they think that bricking the phone is like end of the world, although the solution is very simple.
guys, as long as the computer still can detect your bricked phone, it's solvable

Please help, my X10 mini isn´t recognized on my PC! I have tried with Back button, Home+Power buttons, Volume -, the Reset button on the back, unplug the battery and nothing seems to work! The red LED just blinked one time. What could i do? Obviously if the USB port can´t recognize my phone, i can´t use SEUS, PC Companion or Flash Tool, altough i already tried.
Sorry 4 my poor english
The red LED is that it is charging the phone battery from your charger and follow the guide

I know, but it just blinked one time, it´s not blinking anymore, not when i plug the charger/USB and not when i press the Power button.
It might be a broken USB port on my phone? What could i do?

This is great thanks, but there are already sooooooo many threads explaining exactly this and other ways to fix a bricked phone. Why the need for a new one?
Why not just search?
Cheers,
Evil.

Yep, that´s my problem, i leave my phone plug to the USB all night but it doesn´t fix the problem. Without battery the phone can´t be found by the PC right?
@evilbarcode I know, there is a lot of threads of people fixing their phones, so I asked for help on this, not on a new thread. I have been searching but i suppose this is physical damage, maybe my battery or the USB port.
Thanks for your help.

when I install a new motherboard for my pc I reverse the USB cable into the motherboard.
when I turn off the phone( galaxy s2 ) it does not go out really, there are two alternates image, one with a battery and an empty battery with a yellow triangle and a thermometer.
And to restart I have to remove the battery and once I remove it several times!
Now I have MTP application all the time when I have unlocked a few seconds to go in the menu or I'm stuck on that. What is this madness!

probably over heating or something. 1st time I ever saw that too.
OP, does the phone seem hot to you? To turn off MTP, you have to turn on USB Debugging.
Settings > Apps > Development then reconnect the USB cable
there are few people on the net seeing that warning image..
if you google "Samsung Galaxy S2 battery thermometer warning" you will see few forums regarding this problem pop up..
some people apparently reset the phone and the warning page disappeared.. Some used different battery.. but some people still had the problem even with a different battery..
by reading few forums, i think it's a random warning (if your phone is not physically overheating). may be just turn it off, take the battery out and start it again in few minutes and see how that goes...
or you can always take it back to the shop under warranty.
good luck mate
It could have something to do with the battery or the heat sensor. Either could be malfunctioning. If i were you i'd go back to the shop with the warranty.
you can get a replacement usb board part of the phone. could be a easy fix, but only if it really is that part which damaged.
the problem that i d'ont have warenty and i am in algeria we have not samsung shop
when I install a new motherboard for my pc I reverse the USB cable into the motherboard
I am reading this as you have blown /fried the USB connection by wiring the connector from the PC wrongly .That could be and or further components like battery charging blown components .
You wont fix that without a service centre as its blown electronic components by shoving voltage down the wrong path .

If you got the phone from a provider or carrier then you need to send it to them.
If you bought the phone yourself then you need to find someone to repair it.

Ok I'm really bitter right now. My wife and I each have an S2. Mine has been fine for the last 2 months and hers recently starting having problems. It keeps thinking that a USB cable is plugged in.
A Google search reveals that this is indeed a common hardware problem.
When you do a restart, you get the battery icon and flashing yellow triangle with the thermometer symbol. And the only way to get it to boot up is to plug it in.
The device functions fine other than that, but other than connecting to Kies via USB, there is no other USB related functions that is working.
Gonna give Samsung support a call and see how I can warranty this. Hoping it's not going to be a painful process.
Anyone else having the same problem? How did you resolve it? New replacement? Did they repair? How long did it take? What did you do?
Thanks.
I have the same problem, started with me recently, I had my phone with USB debugging mode on.
Can't confirm when it started for sure, but it may have been because I disconnected it from my computer once, before ejecting the device through windows explorer.
In any case, I can't turn on the phone now without removing the battery or having it plugged in.
I received the battery at 100% notification and it doesn't leave when I unplug the device.
It's become very flaky, and I don't like it. Did you have any luck with Samsung support?
Anyone have any information on this or another link to how to fix this? I'm getting the temperature gauge and can't figure out how to fix it!!

Brother had the same problem. Try adjusting the piece in the USB port of the phone either up or down. I used a small flat head screwdriver. Make sure the phone is off and battery out.
I'm not responsible for any further damage to the phone.

Yeah - get a replacement.
I had similar issues with mine. Took it to Carphone warehouse in uk. And they replaced usb port within 30 mins. Its a common fault.
Try to clean USB port.
This morning I just noticed this problem with my phone and I also noticed that under the battery stats it shows that the phone is always charging.
If I reboot the phone sometimes I lose about 20% from the battery, but then it starts to recharge although the phone is not plugged in.
I will try to change the battery with a friend of mine, maybe it's battery related, I will report back.
I suppose that the problem of discharging is:
A) when connected it can't enter in deep sleep mode
B) vbus_present eating battery

tried already... not working
The best method is:
1. Take out the battery.
2. Turn on the charger.
3. Wait for a while and put in the battery.
That's all.
The three red blinks means the x10 thinks the battery has not got enough charge to boot the phone.
If you can't get it to charge then either ur charger, battery, or USB connection could be broken. You can get replacements direct from SE website or eBay etc

Do you turn off your phone + take out the battery or is it crashing or anything ? The graph in your screenshot has some "skips" down - you did not lose so much battery, its just the phone loosing or not saving the data in certain situations like crashing or pulling the batty i suppose. I created a thread about it in the General section, you can check there

What did you do?
Did you unlock bootloader? Did you flash something? etc
Give more info about what went wrong,
[deleted]
If you haven't messed with the bootloader or flashed some bad ROMs, then it's 90% a bad battery, I have seen this issue many times.
Same problem
Hello,
I've got the same problem. No response at all with any button combination or the red reset button.
If I connect the usb cable to charger or PC red LED turns on but nothing else. The PC doesn't recognize it, not even if I connect it with volume down pressed. I opened it and disconnected the battery. With the battery disconnected it has the same behaviour, only red light if connected.
Any ideas of what I could try?
I wouldn't expect a dead battery causing this. I mean, if the phone can get the power from the charger then it should turn on even with the battery disconnected right?
I was thinking to charge it for two days and see if anything happens, just in case. Otherwise I will need to think on how to discharge the battery manually and see what happens.
I don't to buy a new battery unless I am sure that will help...

I am aware this wont help you much, but if you bought it two weeks ago then you should return it to the seller and ask for a replacement. Is it a refurbished unit or a brand new device? Sony will replace or repair it for you.
