I just dialed this code >> *#0228# on my dialer which automatically popped up with the battery stats of my device. Below that, there's an option called "Quick start", which upon tapping, showed up the following warning dialog box! ! Can anyone help me out what that really means ! ( I don't wanna mess up with those settings without knowing anything ) Could it be a setting for calibrating the battery ??

Ive just noticed that whenever i needed to type something, the keyboard option in the notification bar always pop out. Then i downloaded carat to see what is causing battery drain on my phone and apparently, the ics keyboard is one of the battery hogs.. So is there anyway to disable the auto poping of the options in notification bar whenever you need to type something? I currently have chinese and english enabled. Or perhaps any identical keyboard buy doesnt abuse battery.. Thanks..
Hi everyone. I wondered if anyone had come across this anomaly, when my phone is charging, and it gets to the point where it is fully charged, the screen lights up to half the level, and a message says to unplug charger. Up to this point everything is fine, but as I disconnect it from the charger as it lights up, my "Owner Info" (Kev's Galaxy s III) underneath the clock on the lock screen, scrolls from right to left, three times, then stops! 1:Why does it do that? & 2:Where can access the settings to keep it going?
Many thanks in anticipation.
You can find the setting in:
Settings-Lock screen
You can change the ticker in "lock screen options"
and info in "Owner information"

Hi Coolhof. Thanks for the info, but I know where to edit user info is, and control the "stocks/news" ticker at the bottom of the lock screen, I'm referring to Owner info, directly below the clock in lock screen, it scrolls just 3 times from right to left, directly after the charge gets to 100% when I unplug it. There is no setting I've found to keep it scrolling. Thanks again.
can someone tell me what this status bar icon means. i have marked it with a circle on the attached pic.
so please help
You have Hearing Aid Compatibility turned on.
If you don't need it, you will find the option to disable it in Settings > Call Settings. Between "TTY mode" and "Call forwarding"

I know some miss having a notification LED. I went looking for an app to use the camera's flash for notifications. The first several which I tried would not work on the Nokia 8, but I finally found one which does. If I find others that do work, I'll add them to this post.
"Flash Notification for All App." It sadly does have advertisements inside the app. You must set your flash type to "2" in the settings. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.manzy.flashnotification&rdid=com.manzy.flashnotification

Thank you, this was of great help! I really miss the LED notification. I think it is a shame that HMD has chosen to omit such a useful function on a flagship telephone as Nokia 8. The only solution is to use the flash LED on the back or the screen. However, to get notifications to work reliable, I found that you need to disable Battery Optimization for the notification app. Otherwise it will not work in sleep mode for some apps.
1. Go into Settings/Battery
2. Push the settings menu (the three blue dots at the top right corner) and choose "Battery Optimization".
3. In the blue drop down menu choose "All Apps"
4. Scroll down and disable battery optimization for "Flash Notification 2"
In the "Flash Notification 2" application you can choose exactly how fast and how many times the flash LED will flash. You can also set the repetition interval and repetition period. You can also choose between to use the flash LED or the screen backlightning or both. And to get rid of the ads is not expensive. The only drawback with the method is that it increases power consumption of the phone.

Hello everyone. I'm having a problem with my gps. While i'm counting my running workout with endomondo or samsung health or any program like that gps is counting wrong. For example to a known distance and to the total 16kms it counts 14kms. I'm counting also with a very good watch. The problem is that while the screen is on it counts correct. While the screen is off it lost the way and it isn't count well.
Is there any solution?
Thanks a lot

Sounds like the app is being put to sleep by android. This means once the screen turns off (and/or the phone locks) the app stops working (or gets placed into a suspended state). Once you turn the screen on and/or unlock the lockscreen the app is resumed.
To resolve this try the following:
Turn battery optimization off for the apps in question, and check to see if android puts them to sleep (and turn it off for the app if it does).
You can exclude the app from battery optimization by going to settings > apps and then look for the app and select it. From there select "optimize battery usage", select all apps (on the battery optimization page) and find your app. You need to have it toggled off for android to not optimize the battery.
To check if android is putting it to sleep go to settings > device care and select battery at the bottom. After that the battery page will be shown, press the three dots at the top right and select settings. Select "Sleeping Apps" and see if your app is listed (and if so emove it from the list)
Alternatively if you want you can disable the ability for android to put apps to sleep. Under settings > device care > battery > press the 3 dots at top right > press settings you can toggle "put unused apps to sleep" off to stop this from happening.
If you want to leave the feature enabled then you can adjust how long it will take before an app goes to sleep. Press on "Put unused apps to sleep" and select a time frame higher then what the default is.
Myself personally I turned off the "put unused apps to sleep" and have not had any issues at all.
thanks a lot buddy. I'll try all the things that you suggest and i'll return back.
Have a nice day
