[Q] any tiny rom withouth GSM radio and dialer ? - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

Hi, all
i am thinking to use my old SX-U as remote control only, (yatse app)
and am wondering if there is any clean good function ROM that doesn't have the GSM radio module in it (GSM radio only eats battery, and yes i know i can disable the GSM with airplane mode).
but i would like to flash the phone with a slim tiny rom, that has only the necessary to function as wifi touch device.
no dialer, no gapps, no gsm, no contacts
any ideas?

Telus TP gps lock...Help

anyone able to get gps lock with telus TP stock rom ? just got my Telus TP and it unable to have it lock. it work fine with my mogul P4000...instant lock with TT 7.94... if anyone able to TT with TP stock rom or 3rd party rom...please give some details.
thanks
im using juggalo rom and i get locks with google maps within seconds.. never really tried to use telus stock rom as i unlocked and switched to a custom rom within an hour. i am sure that telus has it locked out so u can use their navigation software.
belmont, this is the link to the PPCGeeks thread of tobeychris' GPS solution and cab install for Telus.
have you set windows external gps to manage settings automatically?
tomtom gps settings config to built in gps?
"other NMEA" gps works for me as well...
also i've disabled assisted gps and it works fine.
i've ran juicy/or might roms (both built off telus roms) and my gps locks within seconds. should work right out of the box with stock rom though... seeing as how they do have telus navigator pre installed

[Q] data not working

the data doesnt seem to work on my hyperdroid 1.7 with hastarin 8.5 kernel on my tmobile hd2. it just shows the bars, with no 3g or edge icon. data will not load, and i have tried turning off the phone, reinstalling the android build, taking out the sim card, and turning on/off airplane mode. what can i do, i really like this build otherwise.
You could try a different radio/kernel.......
Have you tried setting up the apn manually?
If none of those work then I'm afraid you'll just have to use a different build.....
The android sections over there by the way ------------->
You're more likely to get an answer quicker in there.....

[Q] Battery drain on 3G

Does any custom rom for optimus one support fast dormancy ? My earlier Samsung android used to swtich to UMTS mode when not actively using data and used to move up to HSDPA when data was actively used. This helped it to save a lot of battery on 3G.
I don't see my optimus one doing that even with stock or any custom rom. Anyone has any ideas ?
With stock rom, the indicator icon switches from 3G to H though, when using data. But maybe you meant something different?
JuiceDefender provides some options for automatically switching between 2g/3g etc. Since this doesn't work with the stock rom, I haven't tried it though.
It never switched from 3G to H for me on the stock ROM. It was constantly at H. Is there any way to force the phone to switch ?
Does CM7 provide any method to do it ? Am using void #forever 2.3.4 currently.

Rom comparison chart? SG2

Hi,
Is there a place were I can see all the Roms? and which to install?
I've just installed CyanogenMod9 in my SG2, but now I miss the FM radio or some Touchwiz things.
When I had my stock **LPJ i wasn't able to change a thing, such as annoying boot animation or change from 3g to 2g
So, now I'm not sure where to go, I really used to use the radio
btw, are there official samsung roms? without operators (ATT, Vodafone, orange, etc)
for fm radio use spirit fm

[Q] Xperia Active GPS without SIM/data plan

Just bought an xperia active thinking that I could essentially use it as a poor man's version of a garmin edge.
It came with 2.3.4 and I updated it to 4.0.4. The problem is I haven't been able to get a GPS lock at all no matter what I do. When I searched around apparently it was a bug that was fixed in 4.0.4 but it doesn't seem to be the case.
I tried it in airplane mode (to try to save battery) at first but it didn't work so I turned the radio on (without a SIM card) thinking that it might also turn the GPS receiver on to no avail.
Can I not use my phone as a dedicated GPS without a data plan?
