Huawei Germany did publish an official release of ICS 4.0.3 at their website huaweidevices-dot-de for the Mediapad.
Regards,
Thomas
could you check if Finnish language is included
@mrpn900: If "Suomi" is the correct entry for Finnish, then yes, it is included.
I attached 3 screenshots showing all the included languages. I hope it helps other users with the same question about their language, too.
thank's a lot! General version did not include Suomi, so I have to reflash with the German version.
What are changes between this and HUAWEI MediaPad FIRMWARE(S7-301u,android4.0,C232B002,General Channel) ?
I don't think there was a changelog published, but the main difference is the "Channel" -> while the C232 Versions are for "general channel" i.e. the international version of the ROM, this ROM is C167 "German Channel" - probably some settings are included for german SIMcards / WiFi Channels? (Please correct me if I'm wrong)
Before I flashed this ROM I was on HUAWEI_S7-301u_FIRMWARE_android4.0_C232B002_General_Channel_05010YBX-root - the main difference I noticed during the last 3 days of usage was better batterylife. While on the old ROM (C232) I had a batterydrain of 1% per hour in standby, this ROM (C167) is really good in that regard. Around 1% batterydrain during 10 hours of Standby is more than acceptable, imho.
does the Huawei cloud storage work with this version? It does not work with the general version for me. Only way to get to the storage now is desktop
root?
Hi, noob here!
got the pad from one m8 saturday, rooted, with ICS 4.0.3 gen. chan....
Don't care about SIM and 3g, won't use it (couch, surfin'...), but is this rom rooted, as some from main Huawei site? Will I loose root flashing it?
thx...

There is a pre-rooted version uploaded by Comec (all credit to him) in the German android-hilfe.de MediaPad subforum:
Huawei_Mediapad_ICS_FIRMWARE(S7-301u_andr4.0.3_C167B003_German_Vers)_ROOT.part2.rar
Huawei_Mediapad_ICS_FIRMWARE(S7-301u_andr4.0.3_C167B003_German_Vers)_ROOT.part1.rar
Changes to the rom: rooted, SuperUser.apk, init.d support, support for German keyboard layout for external devices.
Use at your own risk! Works as normal dload update. MediaPad will be reset to factory defaults. Save your app-data.
Thanx for your advertising cloogshizer...
Here's another link to the german version..
@ htc-developers.de
I use the rooted version from comec. It does run smooth and stable.
Regards,
Thomas
Vielen Dank fuers Antwort, cloogshizer!
Sorry Mod, english forum, I know...
Will try it this weekend and report also. It seems, for what I've read so far the best rom available -regardind deep sleep batt. issues, and in-browsing reboots. Many thx Comec!
Cheers, and thx for your kindness!
Anyone noticed any difference with this one comparedto the general version?

I didn't use the general version myself, but AFAIK the Huawei cloud apps are missing in the 167 version.
well, i noticed the switch between edge\3g\h is much better.
With the general version it would go to edge, then not go to 3g and h when available.
Had to change from wcdma preferred to wcdma only. With this one wcdma preferred seems to work. Atleast it doesnt go to edge in the same places.
Need some more testing to confirm, but it looks like a major reason to use the german version.
huawei released kernel source code so developers can start developing custom roms
But only for Honeycomb, afaik.
http://www.huaweidevice.com/worldwi...nfoId=3135&directoryId=5011&treeId=3290&tab=0
maybe custom rom based on honeycomb with many tweaks and modded kernel would be better than official ics
I would like to know if the call settings entry on the Settings menu could be added to allow us to get to the native SIP/internet calling support that is supposed to be in ICS. Can that be added?
anybody know which is the latest ealease containing language Suomi?
I updated my Moto E to the Android 5.0.2 Brazilian soak test version, anyways when I go to cpu z app after this I see that my Java VM (virtual machine) still in dalvik and not in ART as I expected. I read in the whole Web even in official sites that the new Android L will be entirely changed to ART... So why do I see dalvik there? How to change it? Is the cpu z app wrong?

Oh! Nicely done
It's great to see support for this device! Do you plan on bringing this to P5210/P5220 as well? Also, how's the RAM usage on this one? I can't try this ROM for myself unfortunately because I have a P5210, but I'm interested in trying it out if you ever port it to my device. That being said, keep up the good work!

Im curious dude, whats the rom like? Is it fast? Does multi window work properly?
Well I hate to trash any developers work...cuz this guys put so much time in doing this work ,testing and modding and porting ROms to our devices.....
I'm really grateful to them!!
Here is a list of what I really hated with ELASTIC ROM:
1.ROM use too much RAM, system ui stopped working more than 3x since installation and that message kept popping out, and when I click wait still comes back and when I click okay it reboots and still say samething system ui not responding and becomes unusable!!!
Frustrated,I reinstalled the ROM using my usual apps, multibooting, same thing happened again, system not responding, crash, reboot!!
2.the user interface is laggy but then again that's the reputation of TW
3.multiwindow?
...this is not straight out of the box, this is uSing xposed framework, xhalofloatingwindows, xmultiwindow, and multiwindowsidebar...
Meaning if you're new to the scene and not know how this modules work with xposed framework you're gonna get lost and frustrated!!
4.the preinstalled apps...
....the ROM is full of xposed modules, before I even install one of mines the list is already around 10 if not more...this shows that this ROM apart from note 5 icons , note 5 boot sounds, has being mostly twicked using xposed framework!! Things we're today very comfortable in doing ourselves, Not disrespecting anyone by saying that!!
5.using nels83 CM 12.1 unofficial, beta 1 latest version it's the ultimate choice!!
It's lag free, memory and battery friendly, and I had not never suffered any lags like I accounted in this ROM based on 4.4.2!
I know one would argue and say that @nels83's work it's based on cyanogen-mod and unoFficial...that being said he's ROM It's much faster, stable, and based on lollipop 5.1.1!
6.for most of users what matters if how the ROM responds, is it lagging, how's the battery life, how many preinstalled apps it has consuming the RAM, coz I'm gonna need install mine too, and still expect flawless responds from the ROM!
But this ROM ,ELASTIC ROM, has failed this departments mostly!!
7.I believe that if a ROM is put out for testing and claimed to be custom and all it has it's mainly xposed framework modules, then really any of us should start uploading our twicked ROMs for other users to try out!!!
8.with all respect to khalendro and his team, I couldn't use the ROM to even run KODI...I tried this twice, it stopped responding and said app not responding then after few seconds rebooted!#
Same thing happened with restoring my apps with titanium BACKUP, it stopped responding, crashed, rebooted...it seems like heavy duty apps if running,I couldn't use my tablet....
But having said all this things...I believe that most of the xda developers are excellent and having looked at your contributors I was amazed hoping that the ROM will out beat most of the TW based custom KITKATS!!
....................
My purpose of writing this is not to trash anyone or mislead other users keen to try out this ROM, this are my critics based on the experience I got from the little time I attempted to test your hard work mate!!
Maybe it's bad luck, I've reverted back to my nandroid backup coz I was getting frustrated which should not be the case after installing a new ROM, looking forward to your future work mate!!
...................
i hope that my critics if any were helpful in anyways rather then disrespecting your hard work!!
........
This will obviously not be complete if I don't mention all the good things I can't get from CM 12.1!
1.p5200 RILL works perfectly well, voice calls good, but this is not working on my CM 12.1, still under development
2.smart cover worked out of the box with this ROM..., camera also works fine, including screen mirroring/chromecast
3.for some reason Wi-Fi seemed to be stable while updating apps from play store, an issue I have on my current CM 12.1
3.I loved the NOTE 5 icons, but angried by all those millions xposed modules preinstalled!!
4. I'm positive I would have found more if I had more time to use the ROM without random reboots and system not responding messages!!!
5......

Thanks for the report i'm very happy to see that there is somone using my work and reporting it
as for the rom problems
i guarantee to you that the rom has no problems of FC's and random rebbots
why ?
bacause i have flashed it 5 times before uploading it to xda
i wiped
system
cache
dalvik cache
and data
to Guarantee that there isn't iny space for errors like what you faced
there is also someone have tested the rom and he didn't complain from anything in the rom no lag no FC's and no random reboots and i have asked him just from half an hour
i'm not saying that you lie or somthing of course not
but you know android is full of little mistakes that could make big errors
as for the Rom problems
1 - Much ram
it's based on stock kitkat of samsung and i have deodexed it and removed alot of samsung crap to Guarantee that the Ram consumption is the lowest i have added greenify and busy before uploading it but after testing it i had a random reboots so i didn't want to have problems like this so i removed booth of them
2-as for system ui FC
the only modification that i made it into it that i added the s6 toogles and i'm the one who made the toogles and the one who but it there - however i keept the orignal system.ui in it's place Root/priv.app/system ui .apk.bak
if you want to replace it with the orignal just change the system ui .apk to system ui.apk.1 and remove the .bak from the other one and try it
3-the lag of touchwiz
the main goal of this rom is to be like best touchwiz rom for the tab 3 10.1 so this means that it must be fast and there is nothing called lag
this rom is currently my OS for the tab and i have no problems at all i haven't installed any new thing
4-multiwindow
i have searched for weeks for a solution of the multiwindow for our tab 3 10.1 model but non of them are working there is a dev who tried as hard as he could to make it works for us but it didn't
so the only option i had is to use xposed module
5- as for the alot of xposed modules
every one of them is usefull module
i have installed them in rom to make the user relaxed by not searching for them and installing them i can remove them easily
but i see that i'm as i user i need them
as for the fix of your problems
i see to backup you data with TWRP
then wipe
system
cache
dalvik cahce
and data
then reflash the rom and see if there is any problems
and you can restore data with TWRP i do this alot and not facing any problems with the rom
It's good that you haven't taken my review as an attack...like I did mention I wiped everything including my internal storage x2 but faced lags......
Multi booting will be great if used without xposed ...it's really encouraging to see that someone out there is trying something...
? ? ?
....
Thanks for the tip about the system ui FC
All best with future release!!
Still....
HiOk it may have some bugs and maybe the touchwiz ui is a bit laggy but if im honest i like touchwiz better than cyanogenmod because cyanogenmod is boring and dull and touchwiz looks great. Even though cyanogenmod is faster.
The next version should be better as in less of those bugs you guys are talking about and also support for the wifi version of our tab 3. Great job though dude you really put a lot of effort into this rom and cant wait for the next update of elastic rom. Thanks!!!! Touchwiz is the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good job thanks for your hard work
Hmmmm....
Hey do you know when the next update will come out. I really want to try it out however i have wifi version (p5210). Do you know when the next version will come out?? I really want to know what day it will come out. Great rom.!!!!

My english is awful, but I try explain me.
Encrypted DATA cause more problems with TWRP, when you install 19s first time you must install TWRP again and then format DATA partition, and you lose all your DATA (photo, videos, all internal memory).
ROM´s it´s very good, 19s are fine, smooth and fast. But for me, I don´t like it because I test all rom´s and I can´t lose my DATA frecuently.

Installed Indian 19S over CN 16S with no wipes. Flashed SuperSu.2.78SR1 for Root, Xposed V86 immediately with no Reboot. Booted well and all things working, no need to flash recovery again (booted 2 times in recovery, data is >0 and internal SD was found). No decryption for now, Fingerprints worked (kept from 16S, no new install)...

Download xposed from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3034811
try arm64 latest version and apk from same thread
So any news about the fp issues fixed with this release or is it confirmed that fp issues are hardware related?
How difficult is it to remove the live button from the stock launcher dock and just have four normal icons, like it is in the parasite custom version of Chinese S18+S19 ROM? Can it be done with root by editing a system file?
Does anyone have a Quickstep Launcher with Gestures (Android 10 Gestures) in it? For Nokia 1?
Because i try to install the latest Quickstep launcher by Hmd Global on Apkmirror... and i can't install it..
It is not possible to install quickstep from apkmirror apk files because downgrade of system apps is not allowed and it is pointless since we already tried it, the navigation gestures are disabled at the system level..........

Go to this link on the Nokia community,

and all it does is that you can use widgets and nothing else.......
