Dbrand Skin Reusable? - Nexus 6 Accessories

Just a quick question, are Dbrand skins for Shamu reusable like the ones on Nexus 4? Or when you peel it off it gets ruined

they are reusable but you have to be careful while peeling off by the lettering because they tend to tear.

Correct, it is resusable if you carefully peel the backing off. I use painters tape to tape over the nexus logo and then slowly peel from all angles to make sure the "E" or the "U" does not rip.

Apply heat to skin and peel carefully. Then rub 3M adhesive off of skin, then you're left with the PVC film. Apply 3M adhesive spray to the back and carefully apply back to phone.

Transparent plastic on additional case

I've got a very nice black aluminium case for my HD from PDAir... Now, the front door has a window made of transparent plastic. I wonder what experience other people have with this thing - will it soon get scratched/damaged look? In other words, do I need to put a screen protector on it (already have one on HD's screen)?
Or is this plastic resistant to any scratching and I'm just too paranoid?
(Or am I not paranoid enough and I need to put screen protector on both sides of the window, not just outer one? )

I have the same nice black aluminium case for my HD and the transparent plastic is normal plastic (do not clean this plastic too hard with a cleaning cloth it will scratch the plastic very easy. I have stick on a cut to size screen protector on the outer side.
its not a bad idea to put an "el cheapo" screenieprotector on your case.
the same case on my old tytn2 was pretty damaged after only six months.
I have a protector on it already now (cheap-ass ebay.)

Gear VR with a Screen Protector and Case

Anyone knows of a case for the S7 that can used with the Gear VR without having to remove the case? I have the Luvvit Clear Case and even though it is relatively thin, it has to be removed to get the S7 to plug in the Gear VR.
Same thing for the screen protector, even with the case removed, plugging the phone in the VR presses against the screen protector (amFilm Glass, which is crap) and pushes it up by about a cm. Anyone tried to use the VR with a screen protector as well?
Also, the amFilm Glass protector has the dot matrix on it and those really ruin the Gear VR experience as they are highly visible. I'd imagine all glass protectors that have the dots will be the same.
I thought this would fit well with VR but it seems it doesn't fit:

I have just ordered this:

Hoping it will fit in VR:fingers-crossed:
I took a sharp pocket knife and chipped away the 2 tiny plastic bumps within the connector on the VR headset that's supposed to help guide the phone into the usb I believe. My screen protector, without case, glass or ArmorSuite kept getting snagged by these 2 lil bumps. Fits perfect now with the screen protector with no catch.
Look in attached photo, circled in blue, for what I'm talking about.

Great tip. Got rid of those two little rubber stoppers and fits with my screen protector great.

I consider to cut that plastic parts cos phone doesn't fit Gear VR with tempered glass. If I cut these 2 plastic part, does phone still fit toughly in Gear VR and stays stable when I turn head when Gear VR is on?

Yes. Fits great. I am using thinnest tempered glass screen cover and it still stays stable with rubber stoppers. To be honest, it's still a bit tighter than I would like. It still will push the A-B slider as I insert it unless I manually hold it in place. No negatives for me cutting the rubber stoppers flush.

So you are all removing the rubber bump from the connector?
Do you guys have any problem with the front of the screen, near the Samsung logo? I have noticed a mark on my screen protector around the Samsung logo. May be it is created when the phone is installed and something is pushing towards the logo? Anyone having this problem? Or is just my screen protect not being of good quality?
I've noticed some small scratched at the top of my phone above the speaker
Kept wondering where they came from and then realized that's where the phone inserts into the Gear VR

You have a scratch? You didn't install a screen protector? Or did you still get that scratch with the screen protector on?

The screen protector doesn't cover that area. It's a PET 1 pice and stops at the sensors/camera/speaker and the scratches are right above the speaker near the edge of the glass

The plastic of the GearVR shouldn't scratch the glass. The gorilla glass is much harder (on the rockwell scale).

I cut it and it worked, thanks sir:good:
I insert my phone at an angle into the Gear VR so to prevent the rubbing you guys are describing. I lift up the lever that holds the phone in, insert phone in an almost upright position, and push it down into the level/clip. No sliding is involved and works for me.

Are you saying it fits now with a case on? Or just with a tempered glass protector?
How bout with the s7 edge + this beetle pro full protection version.. does removing the bumpers make both fit without removal.. curious? Anyone tried?

looking for BACK glass film for S7, G930

Does such a glass film exist? I have seen PET cover backs, but no glass.
I know the back is not flat, but there are glass covers for the S7 Edge front which is bent, so why not for the S7 back?
What about a skin for the back. I have a Matte black dbrand skin on the back of my Gold Flat S7 and i love it. Feels so nice in the hand although to install you need a hair dryer to heat material to feel super smooth around the curved edges but is worth it.
Yep, skins are cool, but I asked for a reason. Part of why I moved on from xiaomi to silver S7 is the superior look and feel of the galaxy. I love the shiny silver/gold back, kinda reminds me of the reflectivity of an optical disc .
My Idea of protection is using front and back glass skinning as well as an aluminium or stainless bumper. Fair amount of protection whilst keeping most of the original design.
Since the original back glass could be replaced much much cheaper than the front OLED, I would also opt for an PET film on the back, but still, glass is preferred.

you can try slickwraps naked skin if you like the look of your s7 back. it comes with a wrap for the back and for the sides also but dbrand is also very good and does not come off easily.
Bought! thanks!
It´s not what I was looking for, but close

x829 comes with a screen protector?

Does x829 version comes with a screen protector?
Yes, at least on the device I got.
Yes, comes with a quality, thin glass screen protector pre-installed from the factory. Oleophobic coating is present.
It does come with a screen protector, but it's definitely plastic and not glass.

Did you scratch it easily with a metal object? Mine feels like a piece of glass with oleophobic coating on it.
EDIT: Mine is glass. Does not scratch with a kitchen knife (plastic would). If you're saying it's "definitely plastic", please post proof.

I accidentally installed an actual glass protector overtop because I didn't realize it had a screen protector from the factory. So I took both off and the factory installed one bent and folded like plastic. It was a nice plastic protector though.
It should be a glass protector
My x829 came with a cheap plastic one. Ripped it off immediately as don't like feel of plastic protectors. Though I never buy screen protectors as prefer my phones naked :silly:
My x829 also has a plastic one from the factory (with the thin film you discard over it and the rest of the phone.)

OP5 Tempered Glass (Only the screen)

So I was wondering if anyone has seen or used a Tempered glass screen protector for the OP5 that covers the screen only, and not the top and bottom bezels. I say this cuz I have some sick looking Dbrand and Xtremeskinz skins on the way here, but all I can find are the full body screen protectors. Any help would be appreciated.
I'm having the same dilemma, some would say get a cut out screen protector. Any opinions?
That would be a ridiculous idea, it would catch on anything and everything and lift every 2 minutes, imagine putting it in your pocket, going to get the phone out of your pocket and the protector stays in there and snaps.

Just use a full face protector, if you want vinyl applied then do it on top of the protector. Most of the vinyls come in separate pieces anyway. To be honest, I never apply vinyl to the face anyway, only the back, I don't even put them on the top/bottom cos I use a bumper with it so that's pointless.
