Issue with Pandora and Play Music - Huawei Ascend Mate 2

Anyone knows how to fix the issue with Pandora and Play Music
Pandora won't start
Play Music able to play a song or two then it pauses and stop playing

My Pandora and Play Music work fine on the new 5.1 update.
If you are talking about the audio bug, its a well known problem. Audio will be playing and then turn off. If you hit the volume buttons when this happens, the phone will get very laggy and unresponsive for about 30 seconds and then it usually catches up and everything is OK until it happens again.

In the root/system/app folder I created a folder "Viper4Android and dropped the Viper apk in there. Assigned appropriate permissions and rebooted. No issues with audio and Viper4A works flawlessly.

Does it autostart after reboot if you install it as a system app?

Yes. It auto-starts and acts like a system app. Even keeps working and shows notifications when you clear recent apps (if you have it set to show notifications in the app settings). It's audio Valhalla.

Awwww snap, that's a decent work around to apps not auto starting. I just converted like 3 apps to system apps and now they start after reboot.
Nice find.

Oh, sorry I didnt notice. I dont know any solution to this. You can try to browse the forums or search the play store to find app capable of doing this.

I want to do this to slender man for android so i can listen to the soundtrack from the pc game
i think an app like this is possible to make but i browsed google play store and haven't found one, hopefully in the future some dev will make this kind of app
in the meantime what you can do is mute the whole system volume and use a different device to play music
also email the game's dev tell them to add an option to mute the sound
This would take care of your issue:

Doesn't work on Android 7.1.2 :/
Hmm, so no dice on this for Nougat? I would love to mute a game that always starts with the volume up. I can change the volume in the game, but only after a lengthy, loud intro, and it resets the volume the next time I play it...
Anyone found solution?
Solution (for Samsung Phones)
If you happen to be on a Samsung phone, there is an app called "Sound Assistant" which is excellent - adding volume sliders for whatever individual apps you like.
Samsung wastes a lot of money and frustrate a lot of people customizing & bloating Android, but this *optional* app is great and should be mimicked by Google into base Android!
Nope no solution for this problem
Hmm, still nothing?
Maybe try using something like VMos and running the app in there and disabling sound

Jelly Bean Audio Issue

ok i dont know if there is a fix and i had tried to find, but everytime i reboot i have have to open my audio play, whether it be google music or mog or any music player and then i have to kill it then reopen and music works. does anyone know of a fix for this to avoid in having to open and kill it on every reboot? thank u,
I cant be the only one with this prob. Come on
I cannot honestly say I have heard of anyone on JB that has such an extensive issue with Audio...
I have run JB since I got the device and besides some early issues that have already been resolved... it was still never as bad as your experiencing!
I can only say to try and go back stock 100%, then once you have go through samsung kies and do the emergency firmware restore/wipe thingy, then try going back to a freshly downloaded copy of the JB rom of your choice...
Sorry your having so many issues
It is actually only when i play music from the device not streaming. I flashed the same rom on a stock ics note and they have the same issuez.

That was really hard to read.
Are you saying that you have no sound upon booting, until you open a music file?
If so, what music effect apps do you have installed? Check in the sound panel, inside the settings app.
Do you have Volume+, MusicFX, or Volume Boost? Anything like that?

when i open up google music, i click on a file and it just hangs, until i kill the app reopen then the file starts up normal, this happens everythine i reboot i have to do this after i do that its fine until i reboot again, also when i stream music it is just find its only when i play music on the device, this also does the same with MOG
Audio hang on i717 with Jelly bean
I have the same problem but not with every music app. Power amp works no problem but the apps I use for audio books Mort Audio Book Player or Smart Audio Books do not work unless i force close and then reopen. I have sometimes avoided the problem by opening a book in an alternate method so I suspect it may be something related to how the apps store the position in a track.
I also had problems with Map my run a run tracking app that can announce when you have run a certain distance. Map my run would capture audio focus and never release it. So my music would go silent until reboot. I am running CM10 stable but think I'll go back to CM9 becuase i use the audio book apps a lot and am too impastient and easily irritated to keep having to force close the apps. I have even had to battery pull on occasion but probably only because I was too impatient for the phone to come back online.

Sound stopped working on my Slimrom

Hi guys,
Sounds and ringtones have suddenly stopped working. Didnt do anything nor did the phone fell or something. :S
Another issue when i try to play any media file, it wont play, it just stops and never plays. I can move along the timeline of music file but it wont play i.e. it remains paused but indicator stays along the timeline e.g. 3 minute song, i press play button, it stays on 00:00, then when i move slider to say 1:50, it goes there but nothing happens, just stays on 1:50. App does not crash. Same in video files.
Even system sound files are not playing, so i cannot receive any sound notifications from call or messages.
I've tried with handsfree too, nothing :s
Thanks!

Try to clear the cache in system settings music and clear the app data and cache hope it works

If that doesn't work, fresh flash with full wipe might.
???
Did a full wipe reflash...still problem persists.
I do not think its necessarily a hardware problem because it just wont play media files. As I said, all music and video files are on auto-pause... no matter what i do, i can slide on timeline, but they just remain paused.
Flash a different rom and use a different music/video player.
Tried and tried...exact same issue.
System sounds wont play (when msg or call)
Media files, music and videos remain in 'pause' state, tho I can drag to forward and rewind but they wont play, they'll remain paused and if i do it alot, app whatever it be, crashed. Exactly same problem in youtube in browser as well.
:S

I see you must still be trying to figure out this issue. If reflashing doesn't fix it, it must be a hardware issue.
I am Jack's smirking revenge.
Dont think this is a hardware issue.
I came to this exact same issue in op after odin to stock through sticky, rooting it, flashing cm7 and then flashing slim.
Now no matter what backup i restore the sound doesnt work!
Problem with recovery? Odin tar ? Need help.

I started using a custom rom and I'm guessing that's what's broke it. Pretty depressing cause I like to change my music from my wrist....
I'm gonna have a look through the full rom and see if I can hazard a guess at the app that's missing
There's a new app that controls music playing on the phone and it has 4 different methods if one doesn't work.. It's called Musiccontrol on my watch
I can't play music on my phone either try reset still no luck it worked twice when I first used it but now nothing

I returned the watch. ...
Worked out the there is an app which crashes. It happened the 2nd I used titanium backup to uninstall some apps so I'm assuming something I was uninstalling was breaking that feature.
Just my advice
Feel like an idiot but i just discovered the toggle between the gear music player & phone music control.. The app i mentioned works too, but no need for it obviously
Did anyone hear of a fix for this?
My Gear S Music Player worked a few times, but will no longer control media on my Galaxy S5...
I installed the Ultimate Music Control app and that seems to work... (but no longer have a working widget)
Fixed my Gear S music controller problem
i had the same problem for days. Its a problem with the widget. Just go to the actual place where all the apps are (swipe up) and scroll down to the music player and tap it. I guess it just kind of restarts the widget because as soon as I tapped the app the music started playing again and the widget refreshed with the album artwork. Got my Google Play music working again too. Hope this helps.
still works, just hidden
I may be late to the game, but I just got a Gear S today. It took me a while (and a few apps) before I figured out that the Media Player on the Gear S has a second remote function. It can be accessed by pressing the 3 vertical dots on the bottom right of the display...if you don't see it (or the controls, just tap the screen). After pressing the dots, a menu will pop up with Mobile Device and Gear choices. Choosing Mobile Device puts the Gear into remote control mode for music on the phone (works great with Pandora, but no album art or like/dislike functions), while choosing Gear gives control of music on the watch.
holy cow! I even bought this app called beatObox for this purpose... wth, my Gear S supports this all along... Gear S Mustic Player (as a controller) works with PowerAmp it just doesn't display the album art.
Ultimate fix for the stock music control apk all you do is tap 3dots on right top side, click mobile device, tap screen 3 times or so, tap play periodicly until music plays and skips and boom there you go. Works with any player, just no artwork...

Google Play Music doesn't stream songs at all

Hey there,
So I recently flashed my XT1095 to stock+rooted 5.0, and I'm having an issue with GPM. Every time I try to stream a song from my personal backup, it tells me it's unavailable. Downloading music for offline listening works fine, but streaming doesn't. I tried uninstalling updates and deleting data, but nothing. Anyone have a clue as to what could be the issue?
Thank you.
UPDATE: logcat

Try downloading a different app (ie, Spotify) to check to see if streaming works on there.

Here's a logcat of me openng the app and trying to play a track. (P.S.: it works in safe mode!)
edit: it appears to be V4A, which is odd since it worked before I flashed my phone. Let's see.
edit2: yup. Setting it as compatible causes that error.

I'm glad it started working. Android is a unpredictable system and you have to guess and check to see a application is working or not.
