Custom Boot Animation Is Orange instead of Blue? - Samsung Galaxy Player 4.0, 5.0

Hello, I replace my boot animation with the Galaxy S3 Boot animation, and all the blue parts are being shown orange! Not to mention it is really laggy. The shutdown animation is not affected tho
Running on rooted stock rom.

So no help? M'kay. :crying:

What's this? A canadian not receiving any help?
At first, to have a working bootanimation, you need to have at least the same resolution on both devices. The s3 has a 720p screen which would lead in some problems anyway when you would want to run it on your galaxy player.
Try to see in the galaxy s1 forums if there is something that might interest you.
Sorry for being late btw...

[Q] Need help before buying GS2

So im buying an SGS2 in few hours, its used, so i wanted to ask, what kind of tests i can do on the fly to determinate if the phone is at good condition, doesn't have any issues with hardware?
if it turns on and off first.. then your good to go....check if its rooted and go into settings and scroll down to the bottom and check the firmware what its like...test the camera and then just see if there are any scratches and stuff like that...make sure that there are no passwords on the phone so you do not get locked out and that kinda stuff
Lul what he said. But you could boot it up in download mode and check how many custom roms he had been using. And if he has, then you could ask him about overclocking... cause the hardware could be damaged cause of that...
Well thanks for the help, exchanged desire hd for galaxy S2 and now im a proud owner of first samsung in my life ;D

Can you turn on phone using only charging cable (no battery) ?

I thought you could, VZW support says no.
If no one knows for sure, would someone mind trying it? Thanks in advance.

I don't mean to sound like an ass but why don't you just try it yourself?
Anyway, I get my phone in the mail tomorrow so I will try it then. However, My Galaxy nexus and Galaxy S2 both required the battery installed to boot so I'd imagine that the S3 will be the same.

Screen problem with galaxy tab 10.1

Hi Xda'ians,
I have a problem with my Galaxy tab GT-7510 and would like your help/opinion/advice ...
Today, my galaxy tab screen started showing weird colors. I mean that all the black colored letters, black backgrounds had a reddish color. I have attached the snapshots of the screen image that indicate the problem. As you can see it's really difficult to use the tablet due to this problem.
I had a chat with the samsung support and they willing to check my tablet but alas, my warranty had expired and they informed me that I would have to pay 200$ for them to evaluate, replace parts and ship the tablet to me.
So questions to all --
1) Do you think it is worth paying $200 and getting my tablet repaired or is it better to get a new tablet ???
2) Has anyone experienced such a problem before and how did you get it resolved ??
3) Is there any way I can fix this problem myself with the minimal expenditure ??
Any suggestions by the community would be really very helpful !!!
PS: I have checked out videos of how to replace the screen but not sure which part needs to be replaced (i.e., digitizer/screen or LCD or some other component)
Thank you all for your help in advance !!!

Update :
I tried flashing a stock 3.1 image on the tablet but the red color still appears. I have attached another image of the problem.
Have you tried a different ROM? Is it possible its software related?

I had the same problem and some people I know as well. I tried everything to fix, from using the hair drier to leaving in in the refrigerator for 30 mins. Nothing works.
Please note that noone complains about ipads, and they are very good with warranties. If I ever get another tablet, it will be ipad.

[Q] How do I root the Samsung Galaxy Light SGH T399

How do I root the Samsung Galaxy Light SGH T399?
I've followed the guides to root the GS4 but I don't want to brick this GL. Any pointers?
Thank you.
I don't have to have a recovery image just yet but root would be nice.

Don't do it. My friend tried to do it and now it stuck on the Samsung greeting Screen. I wonder if you guys could give me the backup recovery image and stock ROM for this phone so I could try to fix it?
Thanks.

Did you try to flash a new recovery with Odin? I was told to only try an adb sideload root for now.
I can't even do that as I can't find the stock recovery image. Were you successful with your adb sideload root?

+1! Mine will arrive today.
+1 on wanting root for this new Galaxy Light. I just got mine yesterday.
I absolutely love the phone, especially considering the off-contract price. I liked my old LG Motion, but this blows it away.
I've been refreshing this thread for days hoping that we'd have root, and maybe start to see some custom ROMs, etc.
I will continue to do so. :fingers-crossed:
I too received this phone. It's a great phone for the money, can't go wrong for $150. It's like an S3 but with a low-res screen. What the S3 mini should have been.

Yep. So far it looks like it was great purchase. Virtually the same form factor and screen res as my old Glacier, which suited me perfectly - don't want to carry anything larger, but with faster processor, more memory & LTE (while still retaining Wi-Fi calling), with none of the Glacier's hardware glitches. I can even still use the Glacier belt clips that I modded for car mounts!
Anyway. Sorry I'm babbling off topic.
It could be a while to root or custom rom.
Hopefully, it won't be like my Exhibit I, no custom rom except for Area 51.

[Q] connect a S2 display to a S3 motherboard

Dear XDA members,
First of all, I want to apologize for my bad English...
I have an S3 with a broken screen. My phone gets on, make noises, but I have no picture.
My wife has an old S2, it is possible to connect my S3 motherboard to the display of the S2? The connectors look the same, but does it works?
I know that the resolutions of the S2 and S3 are different, but all I need to the is to make a backup. (USB port is also broken )
Thanks.

Pretty sure that would just fry the display of the s2, because it is different hardware than the s3.
Thanks for the reply...
The story continues to find a S3.

Sorry I can not help you the way I had in mind.
With your original problem I would of sent you an old s3 complete screen assembly I have to either use to copy data or use permanently.
I swapped it out because of a bad glass replacement done by a local shop but it still works and functions...most of the time. Sometimes the touch doesn't work for a few seconds but the Netherlands is to far away.
Sorry for raising hope

Thanks for your help and your offer.
I can borrow a S4 or Note3, is it possible to connect one of those to my S3??
Thanks guys.
I think this won't work pretty well. I know that it is the same type of display: Super AMOLED capacitive TOUCHSCREEN, 16M colors, but the site and resolution is different. And the next question is, if the connectors really fit in!
