5.0 TW kernels? - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note 3

I know posting to other sites isn't generally accepted, however, I would really like to have a custom kernel for lollipop. Anyone know of any that exist?
Thanks

Not exactly what I'm looking for. I've been in that forum and I'm wondering specifically about using Roms like the Liquid Smooth 4.3 AOSP on ME7.

Verizon Galaxy s4 MI1 update

Hey guys, just some things I've been curious about lately. I just updated to MI1 and rooted it. Is there any way to download safestrap and install custom ROMS such as CM 10.1? Can maybe give me the link to a YouTube video showing me how to flash roms with safestrap? Someone please confirm (or deny) affirmatively whether or not I can flash specifically CM and if not, what about any other ROM? I would probably prefer the stock 4.3 ROM over anything

you can not use cm roms or any 4.3 has to be 4.2
But 10.1 is 4.2.2

You can only use stock kernel with safe strap and cm has there own kernel so it won't work
What about AOKP or the stock 4.3 ROM?

TW only. Stock kernel only.

Are there any AOSP based ROMS that allow use of the stock kernel? If not, are there plans to show custom kernels in SS?

It is impossible for an AOSP rom to be based on the stock kernel. There is a list of safestrap compatible roms in the general section, I would suggest Eclipse as it has AOSP styling.
Kexec support is being worked on which will enable custom kernels, but its going to take a long time.

Wow, I only like AOSP based ROMS. Is there any way at all to flash CM or AOKP onto my rooted S4?

Not if you have ME7 or MI1.

Why is it that I could flash with MDK and not with newer versions? Something with kernels?

That's because the bootloader in the S4 is locked, and will not boot an unsigned recovery (i.e. an official one from Samsung.)
There's a bug in the MDK bootloader that allows bypassing that check, which allows a custom recovery to be installed and booted.
That custom recovery then allows you to install whatever ROM you like.
Releases after MDK have that bug fixed so there's no way to use a custom recovery. Safestrap allows you to start a custom recovery by using the standard kernel to get Safestrap loaded and started up. Since it's not running on the bare metal of the phone, Safestrap can't overwrite the bootloader or kernel, so you can only use ROMs that work with the standard kernel.
Eventually, if kexec gets working, Safestrap will be able to host nonstandard kernels, making many more ROMs possible.
That is sweet because I really want to try CM or AOKP. I will probably like AOKP better but who knows. Can I expect this update allowing for custom kernels soon?

Who knows? That's why I said "if kexec gets going". If the devs can't figure out how to boot a custom kernel, Touchwiz-based ROMs are it.
Oh okay. Thanks a lot though hopefully kexec does get going cause I'm not a big fan at all of touchwhkz

4.4 ROM?

Anyone know when we'll see the first stock Google ROM for our Verizon s4? Or any developers out there working on one? Want one bad!

(Patience is key) I think some developers are working on it now, but it is a challenge to port a new version of stock android on to the jfltevzw because the device is different than your average nexus device. Then you also have to take in the fact that devs are working on other projects on the moment and wish not to abandoned them.
Thank you for the post. And I do understand that. Very anxious!

best AOSP Rom?

Since this Rom will be dual booted (my main touchwiz primary Rom and this secondary AOSP rom), I want to find a fun AOSP Rom to mess around with. Can anyone suggest a 4.4. (Kitkat) rom that is packed with features in it. I remember hearing some rooms have multi window support? Anything like that would be awesome.

Best rom threads will be locked, try them all and see which ones you like.

Because of what the guy above stated, you need to try out ROMs for yourself to figure out what is best for YOU, also there have been many many threads asking this exact thing and they always get locked. I'll give you one option for aosp.......Vanir ROM.

[Q] Safestrap and AOSP

Why do AOSP ROMs not work with Safestrap?

Because the bootloadet is looking for the stock legit firmware signature., without unlock we can't change the stock I'd OR tell it don't look for stock Id anymore. This is simpliest explanation.

Well, until kexec gets figured out, safestrap only allows us to use the stock kernel... which only lets us run touchwiz. If we could run other kernels, AOSP wouldn't be out of reach.
