"unknown device" with Factory Cable - Motorola Droid RAZR

Hi!
I'm desperate.
At last I could find a "Factory Cable" to flash my XT910 with "Battery Low" message....Now, with this cable a beautiful "Battery OK" appears when I use the Ap Fastboot Mode to flash it with RSD Lite, but....my computer doesn't detect it!!!!! And if my coputer doesn't detect my phone, RDSLite also, and I could't flash it
What should I do???
I've tried in 3 different computers (with W7 and XP, all with last Motorola Drivers installed)....
I plug the factory cable into the phone, plug it with the computer, and press "Vol- Vol+ Power" ...then "Vol- Vol+" and I enter to Ap Fastboot mode....
"Battery OK" appears...
Windows tries to install the phone but....."Unknown device"
Please, what am I doing wrong???
Thanks!!!!

Thanks a lot, but...
I've tried to update it with "windows Update", and force to update drivers with "Motorola PTP Device", "Motorola MTP Device", "motorola USB Device"....
I've installed last version of RSD Lite too
And everything with the same solution...
I think it's quite difficult that Windows may reconize it in Ap Fastboot mode, doesn't it?

Today I'm going to try another "Modded Cable".
These are the steps I do:
1) Open RSD Lite
2) Plug the phone to the computer with "Modded cable"
3) Vol+, Vol-, Power, 10 sec
4) Vol+, Vol-
5) Menu AP FastBoot
6) Windows tries to install the phone.....
Is it correct???? (I can't enter AP FastBoot without plug the phone because it doesn't power on)
Thanks!!!

Could be a bad cable or other hardware failure.
Another thing to try is the MacGyver method

It's possible that the problem is in the cable...
It happened to me one time, when I wanted to flash my sons Iphone, with his cable the computer couldn't recognize the phone in recovery mode but with another everything was ok.

Razr XT910 Stuck at boot

Gents
I need your advise.I tried to upgrade my XT910 from GB 2.3.6 to 4.0.4 through RSD.Everything went OK but my XT910 did not start after upgrade. It always stuck on Motorola Logo and try to boot but again going to black screen and then again Motorola logo apperas.
I tried to enter in AP Mode pressing Power+Vol Up+Vol down but it is not going in Recovery and just blinking and then Motorola Logo apperas.
My PC is also not detecinting XT910.It detects only as USB drive. One Driver calls MTP always trying to install on my PC and failed.
Can anyone assist me how to recover it.

restart your PC.
Make sure u have all the required drivers for your phone.
Make sure u have the latest RSD.
If possible, try to re-download the fastboot file again.
I hope you are not flashing a ROM through RSD.
All the best.

Thanks for your advise.I already tried this way but problem is that RSD is not reconsizing XT910.As I mention earlier I can not go in Recovery mode and my PC is also not reconizing XT910.It only reconize it as USB Device and trying to install one driver called MTP but always failed.

Then u can do two things. Get hold of another PC, friend, cousin, X GF anyone. And try everything again on that PC.
Also, try to get a new cable. USB cable could be faulty too.
Also , u have written ur phone didn't start after the upgrade. What was the message showing in RSD exactly. And what fast boot files did u use?
Could u post the link??

I had a problem like this on my xt910 ics. I eventually worked out that I had filled the storage (damn you Gameloft). A full wipe/restore fixed it. I used this utility from droidrzr(dot)com developed mattlgroff. droid-razr-utility-182. Sorry, I can't post links yet...

[Q] XT910 (4.0.4) Wont connect to PC

Hi everyone.
So I have a Motorola Droid RAZR XT910 its on 4.0.4 OTA with no root.
The issue I have is that I connect the phone to my PC via USB cable and it does not pick it up.
A few things you must know is:
•I have windows 7 32-bit and
•I am using the cable that comes with my phone
What happens when I plug my phone is the computer says installing drivers for unknown device and then it claims to have successfully installing them for "unknown device". My phone does give me option to chose what type of connection I want but it does charge.
Things I have tried:
•A different cable
•A different PC
• Re-installing drivers
• Re-installing Motocast
•Trying with USB Debugging enabled and disabled
•Different USB ports
•Factory reset
•Different USB ports
•Tried installing PIM Sync form Google Play Store
So yeah that's my problem any help will be helpful...
Try the drivers here:
http://www.motorola.com/consumers/v...59431210VgnVCM1000008406b00aRCRD&pubid=987654
When you try another cable, make sure that works with another device, and not just for charging.
The below instructions will help you troubleshoot if there is a problem with the usb connector on your phone.
1.Power off and disconnect usb cable.
2.Press and hold vol up and down, then hold the power button.
3.You should come to a boot mode selection menu.
4.Press vol down twice to highlight AP fastboot, press vol up once to select.
5.You should see AP fastboot flash mode (s), with last 2 lines saying "Connect USB, Data Cable"
6.Connect your USB cable to your PC and phone, and see if it says USB connected.
7. If nothing happens then it's probably a hardware problem, get it repaired.

Hi thank you for your help.
So I did this method on my PC and it was unsuccessful but i tried it on my mothers and it worked!
So I will update the drivers on my mothers PC and see If I can successfully connect to her PC and use USB mass storage for the first time since I've had Ice Cream Sandwich!
I will keep you updated
Its definitely software. Ill have to wait till there's a rooting application that doesn't require a connection between a PC and phone. One rooted I can flash a ROM from there on...
On your mother's PC, it worked in AP fastboot right? As in the words "USB connected" appears on your phone.
From there you can flash a rom.

[Q] HELP: MT6589 totally bricked

My phone is royally stuffed now. A few days ago, it started showing error message (image) and this morning after a restart, its stuck at the green android logo and won't get into the operating system. I tried the following and didn't work:
- remove sd card, battery both sim cards
- press vol+ and insert into my computer's usb slot
- MT65xx preloader appeared briefly (about 3 secs) in Device Manager and disappear. Too brief for me to do anything
I also tried power and vol+ buttons to get into recovery but I only get a dead Android image with "No Command" message (similar to image).
Before this problem, my computer can connect to my phone fine and I am using ADB_usb_driver_120827 and successfully rooted it about 2 months ago.
I can try something if my computer can hold the USB connection but how to get a USB connection? Please help?
OK my computer can see my phone as an ADB Interface but I still can't connect MTK Tools or SP Flash to it. Any help?

Can't get Moto RAZR MAXX to connect via Moto DRIVERS

I am using WIndows 10 (Maybe that's the problem) and trying to flash stock firmware onto an XT912 via RSD Light. 64bit Moto driver (6.4) were installed. I put the phone into boot mode, and then connect the USB cable, but nothing happens - After awhile it reboots and the computer sees the phone, but I doesn't get seen by RSD. It seems like it is not connecting via the Motot drivers but just the stock ones. I went into Device manager and made sure all the drivers were updated but can't get it to connect. ANy thoughts o what I can do. I have tried reinstalling the drivers multiple times and they seem to be there, phone is just seeing them.

I believe I got the issue resolved. I ended up just using a different method completely(DROID RAZR Utility XT912 Jellybean) skipping the use of RSD Lite and the whole moto driver. From my research it looks like the moto drivers do not work with Win 8.1, so definitely not Win 10 at this time.
You can close the thread.
Thanks for the help.

Your phone is not powering down ?
Lenovo P780 is flashed by powering down.
You power down the phone, prepare to flash and when you are ready just plug the USB cable with the phone powered down.
That is it.
That not works, phone is powered down, but after connecting cable is powering on into system...

In device manager phone is detected as MT65XX preloader in about 5 seconds - after that it bootloops.
EDIT:
solution:
Open "Device Manager" on your Windows PC.
Plug in your phone through the micro USB cable. A device will show up for a few seconds in "Device Manager". After that, it will disappear again!
Recognize the device tree where it appeared, and wait for it as you unplug and plug in your phone again (if bootloop, its automatic!)
Catch it with a right click as it appears! Then choose "Update Drivers" and pick the directory where you uncompressed the drivers you downloaded above. Its ok if after catching it the device disconnects. You only need to install the drivers now.

I understand now. Your computer does not recognize your phone. The drivers are not installed at all or correctly.
Download the drivers from here and install them. The drivers are at the bottom of the page.
To flash use only the sp flash tools from here.
Small tutorial to install the drivers:
I think was someting like this:
1. First install the .exe file. Reboot PC.
2. Now plug the phone to the PC and new hardware wizard will appear. Unplug the USB cable.
3. Now power off the phone.
4. Again plug the phone this time powered off.
5. At this time in Device Manager appears for a second or two not in USB area, in ports area something with.. MTK65xx...
6. Click very fast on it because that will dessapear fast.
7. After you clicked on it all you have to do is update driver, and voila you have drivers installed and now all you have to do is to flash you ROM.
Hope this will help you.
Good luck.
