Been having this problem since z7 mini v1.82. Upgraded to v3.12 and used titanium backup to restore whatsapp. All widgets worked. Then restored more common apps (Facebook, antutu, instagram and the likes) then a moment in the day when i rebooted the phone i see widgets not appearing anymore and the ones i had don't work anymore. Any solutions please? Thank you!

Hello,
i have some problems with my X10. Whenever i start Mediascape and browse some pictures the phone gets slower and slower. Additionally, the battery temperature is going up over time, so that the phone is really warm.
After taking a look into Android System Info and some testing i could determine the cause of this problem.
There are two processes of android.process.acore (package: adw.launcher or go.launcher, see later) that are running with 100% CPU Usage. After killing (restarting) one of both processes the other one disappears, and cpu usage goes back to normal. But if mediascape is launched again, the same issue occurs.
After more testing i found, that this only happens if i use another launcher and not the original one from SE. If i use the SE launcher (and freeze the 3rd-party via titanium) the problem does not occur.
First, i thought that i maybe have killed to much of the bloatware, so i restored the original firmware via SEUS and tried again - with no success, the issue persists furthermore. No original App were removed, and no old configuration was used, only defaults.
My Steps with after restoring the original firmware.
- root with RATC, manually via linux and adb
- entered google account to check in the market
- updated market, facebook, and google maps
- downloaded busybox, xrecovery and titanium backup pro
- installed the jit2-enabler from the forums and enabled it via xrecovery (dalvik cache cleared)
- restored
- clean install of ADW.Launcher
=> testing, problem occurs again (process: android.process.acore with package adw.launcher at 100% after using mediascape)
- removed ADW.Launcher and installed Go! Launcher
=> testing, problem occurs again (process: android.process.acore with package adw.launcher at 100% after using mediascape)
- removed Go! Launcher and proceeded to xda-devs in search for some help
Can this be a issue caused by JIT2 ?
Any ideas, what can i do now ?
I Hate the original launcher, i would like to stay with Go! or ADW. Mediascape can not be uninstalled without problems or loss of functions afaik.
--- sry @mod for posting in wrong forum
no ideas ?
I have the same problem
Any ideas?
You've better wait for a couple of hours or a night coz after finish upgrade the phone, X10 (face recognition service) will try to rescan your sdcard, looking for media file.
Your X10 will have high CPU load, consume a lot of battery and also having slow response during this scan period.
The scan period is depending on number of media files on sdcard and number of pictures in your facebook account.
Ok, so I searched many threads with only one similar to mine but no solution.

I own a Galaxy S froyo 2.2.1 with recently installed Go Launcher (a week ago)
I was planning to make a backup and upgrade this weekend so I was searching saving webpages to do it.
So there it goes Friday night, a day before I sit down to make the upgrade.....my phone runs out of battery. After a few hours I open it and BOOM. Almost all apps force close, facebook, shazam, dropbox, Advanced task killer and Go launcher force close looping. After holding home key got into task manager uninstalled GO launcher and switched to default TWlauncher.
To my surprise almost everything is gone, contacts, almost all apps and whatever not deleted is not working.
Is there any chance I get at least my contacts back with some filesystem restore or something, please heeeeelp. Last backup was 6 months ago via Kies.

i think there are no way to get your contacts back, try to collect them again, next time, remember to sync them with your gmail or kies or save them to your memory card, make it a habbit before making an upgrade or update

I used Titanium Backup to freeze some applications (the ones "shipped") on a Motorola XT311.
Then I restored factory settings, but the fronzen applications remained frozen. I cannot see them any more, not event Titanium Backup can.
What can I do? I need the on screen keyboard that came with the phone...
I was facing exactly same issue last week when I froze system app Music 1.2
read post 8 from this thread it will help you.

My apps do not appear in titanium as frozen. They are nowhere to be found.
Hi,
I had a weird problem with an app (The Times and The Sunday Times) on my Xperia Z2 Tablet yesterday. Although I managed to fix it eventually, I was wondering if anyone might be able to shed some light on what happened.
The tablet had been repaired under warranty. Before I sent it off, I did a full Titanium backup, unrooted, and reset to factory defaults. As part of the repair, Sony updated the firmware from 17.1.1.A.0.402 to 17.1.2.A.0.314 (17.1.2.A.0.314 was released whilst it was out for repair). Both firmwares are based on Android 4.4.2.
I reinstalled all my user apps (not system apps) by restoring a Titanium backup, after which the The Times and The Sunday Times app was working. I used it several times, then yesterday it froze when loading. Killing the app from the recents and opening it again didn't work; this time it wouldn't load (the icon on the Nova Launcher desktop glowed for a few seconds, then nothing happened).
I then tried the following, killing the app from the recents menu before each attempt:
Clearing the app's cache.
Clearing the app's data.
Uninstalling the app and reinstalling.
Uninstalling the app, searching the entire device for the app name using solid explorer (rooted), removing any left over files, and reinstalling the app.
Uninstalling the app, running SD maid, and reinstalling the app.
Rebooting the device.
Still no luck. each time, the app icon would glow when i tapped it, the app would appear in my recent apps list as a black rectangle, but no matter how long I left it (several hours at one point), it just wouldn't load.
In desperation, I restored the app's Titanium backup with data, and it (sort of) worked. The app loaded, and allowed me to log in again (as if I'd just done a fresh install, or restored the app without data).
The weird thing is that the app has not been updated since I made the backup, so the backup version is the same as the version on the Play Store.
Does anyone know why restoring the Titanium backup would work where the troubleshooting steps I took above didn't? Is it possible that the app's data got given some weird permissions at some point that only Titanium, running as root, could sort out?
Thank you in advance!
Looking at the logcat might offer some insights into why it was not launching.
An educated guess would be that TiBu restored/overwrote a file that the other apps/system did not find and wipe and the app itself corrupts a file when launching and only restoring a working one from your backup fixed it.
If you find out what file that is, SD Maid could be updated to cover that and if it's reproduceable, you could also write the dev of the app instruction how to reproduce the issue so he can fix it.
Of course there is always the option that the server/connection was bad and it hang because of that.
Hi,
My Xperia Z ultra was working fine until 3 hours ago. There were few updates from googleplay, authorised, left in charge, came back 2 hours ago and it has been freezing , shutting and restarting continuously, it freezes the UI , xperia home app and evertything else.
I use it for business and it doing my head.
thank you for your help.
Ok that is weird. My friend just asked me regarding her Xperia Z Ultra. It has the same symptoms as the one you described, and it also happened since 1-2 days ago, when she left the phone on charge, and it updates some applications on google play. I already tried uninstalling some apps to no avail. Removing the SD card lets you navigate your phone longer, but when you try to launch ANY apps (including the option to factory reset your phone) it will immediately freeze, and restart. I might try installing custom ROM in this thing...
Solved
Hi, being for business and out of desperation I have hard reset it. It wasn't easy as it would freeze before I could press the relevant button. What I have done is let the phablet battery die, recharge it completely on off mode, turn it on, follow the link for the reset option, and it worked! It took another 3/4 hours to reinstall everything but so far so good, I hope it helps
got same problem within 2 days,i have two xperia and always hang & restart...any solution ??
Another instance...
I updated 48 apps today on the Google Play Store (i've disabled auto update) and i'm now in a bootloop as well...
I guess it's on of the Sony or Google apps that had an update that would cause this?
I think the issue is related to Xperia Home, will switch to default launcher and check.
Got same problem. Short story: did the factory reset, issue slowed down a bit but still present, now I'm downloading the same stock rom via flash tool and after flashing see if the problem stopped...
same Problem to me. did the factory reset by companion and it worked for two days, no started again with the restart loop and freezing continously... any Infos from Sony...?
I just called the Xperia Support. It is just a Facebook problem. Simply deinstall Facebook app and your mobile will work again without any problems. Facebook has been informed about the issue. when the problem will be solved by Facebook is unknown...
I have C6833 and same symptoms. When I check Sony Diagnoistics app it shows Instagram caused system freeze/crash.
Instagram freezes mobile and then it restarts. Something like overheat protection inside forcing a restart after app freeze.
Also Facebook app crashed when you just start and flashes multiple times.
Those two apps updated by Facebook and I believe some compatibility issue.
Found older version of Facebook from apkmirror and installed.
Now Facebook & Instagram not crashing, mobile not restarting.
JFYI version from June 14th.

Update: I flashed the same stock rom with flashtool and everything is ok now.... It looks like the rom corrupted somehow and the factory reset didn't helped completely...
I also noticed it is caused by the latest Facebook update. Just check the latest reviews now on the play store...
Removed Facebook app (luckily also not part of ROM). Phone now stable and 24/7/365 50% CPU usage dropped to around 20%. The last Facebook update is very bad... Not going to use it anymore on my Ultra... Facebook is now blacklisted for my Z.
Second update: facebook worked for 2 days and again stopped working, messenger constantly showing one unread message which I opened 100 times, but the number notification on icon is still present. Also sometimes a random app freezes, phone looses touch and reboots after some time... Looks like something in hardware is slowly diying...
Solved
As some of you guys found out the culprit is the latest update from FB. After uninstalled it everything is fine .
Thank you for your input.
