I have 4.4.4 KK SlimROm with Dorimanx latest kernel (Without TRIM). Recently I bought a new extended battery fully charged it and let it discharge fully once. It was s tip for a new lithium batteries on one of the first sites on google search. After that the battery wouldn't charge at all for a few hours (Stuck on 0%) but the phone could be turned fully on. I remembered that once i saw in the recovery advanced options something about battery statistic refresh or something like that and went looking for it in the recovery, didn't find anything, didn't change anything, when I exited the recovery mode it told me the root was lost and if I want to root my phone, I chose yes, then it booted to download mode for some reason, turned my phone off and it stated to charge. I was happy until I tried to turn it on. Its starting too boot, after the Samsung logo it gets to Dorimanx logo and gets stuck there, cant access Recovery or Download mode. Searched the web didn't find anything with a solution only dead threads with no answers.
Please help, I don't have money for a new phone and I waited for this Amazon battery to get here 3 month :"(
TLDR;
Discharged battery wont charge, after it started to charge stuck on kernel loading screen, cant access Download or Recovery Mode. Pls help.
After a few days I found a solution. Here it is to people who has the same problem.
Remove battery, sim, sdcard, before you pluck the battery back hold vol down, pluck it in, power phone, and it should go to download mode.
If not try power+vol down+home, power+vol down or power+home+both volume as you pluck the battery or the same combinations as you pluck in the USB cable to the phone connected to the PC. a few tries should get you here, it was my 5th on with USB and first with holding vol down before plucking the battery back.
Download Odin
download JB rom form http://androidfirmwares.net/PhoneFirmware/Download/133
download recovery from here http://galaxys2root.com/cwmtwrp-recovery/
follow instructions on how to install rom from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/help/guide-26-12-flash-stock-firmware-rom-t2365701
Install the ROM via Odin(If by chance like me you will disconnect while installing the ROM and cant connect back or stuck on setup connection, just remove the battery for a few minutes and try again, exiting and starting Odin again recommended), after that install recovery, nothing will load but check if you can go to recovery, if yes, just install the same ROM you had from recovery, wipe cache, dalvik, install same kernel, wipe cache, dalvik, it should work with some errors popping, just sync and back up everything you need and reinstall fresh.
Hope it helped.

i was streamin a movie with vplayer. i was using the mhl adapter and had it going to my hdmi on tv. it was working and suddenly froze. it was completely unresponsive so i took out the battery. i unplugged all the cables and tried to reboot. it keeps flashing the samsung logo screen over and over. it wont boot up. i went to recovery, rebooted, nothing. stock recovery mode says
cant access /system/csc/ATT/system
i was using the stock android that it came with, i believe 2.3.4
i can enter download mode and recovery mode
i wiped data, nothing
i flashed cwm with odin, (CF-Root-SGS2_XW_OXA_KK5-v5.0-CWM5.zip) wouldnt mount sd. went and choose fix permissions, able to mount sd, reset, nothing
flashed stock, still stuck
flashed bootloader and parafram, now stock recovery wont show up
still can go download mode, still can recover mode when i reflash cwm
any help? can it be fixed?
Download mode is always a good sign. These steps are going to bring you back to the day you bought it:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1313659
does this require the usb jig? can it be flashed without it?
and the stock android recovery is not working, it just displays "deleting encryption meta data" then turns off again
No jig needed if you can still enter download mode.
Take the battery out. Put back in, plug USB cable in while holding volume down.
My phone was running at about 60% battery last night, and working fine. It was in my pocket and it vibrated. I was unable to turn it on or reboot it, even after removing the battery. I tried using the battery from my wife's S2 but still no luck. I tried connecting the power supply but it still wouldn't boot so I left it charging overnight.
This morning it alternately flashed a fully green battery and a fully black battery. If I press and hold the power button it starts the boot process - I get past the Samsung splash screen and see the first "Resurrection Remix" splash screen, but then it reverts to displaying the green battery.
Any ideas for how I can revive the phone??

Ok We cant say its bricked!! Because its booting up but not coming to homescreen rite? Are u able to get into recovery or download mode?? If ur able o then wipe the data cache and dalvik cache, reinstall the ROM again.. If Recovery doesnt shw up.. Then Use ODIN to flash original fw!! Even if u still couldn get it.. Order a USB JIG from Ebay and try getting into DOWNLOAD MODE!! Even after this its still working means ITS BRICKED !!
Start download mode and the flash a new stock firmware . And your phone isnt bricked .!
This is why I always make a backup.
If you can get into download mode you can fix it, if you can't it's a service centre job. Pretty simple really.
Try cleaning charging port..
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA
Uh oh...I managed to get into Recovery mode, did a factory reset and kicked off a re-install of the Resurrection Remix ROM from the external SD and it's hung at 50% (for 10 mins now) - at the "Extracting /system..." stage. I daren't interrupt it.
Any ideas???
Yes stop messing
1: If you dint have to save anything, wipe better to full wipe
Flash a stock Rom using Odin, than start again with custom roms.
OR
2: download your custom Rom again and flash, might be corrupt download.

So it's OK to interrupt this ROM flash, even though it's stuck at 50%? Should I just hold the power button or remove the battery??
pull the battery
But I say flash stock Rom first, lengthy procedure I know, but safer
OK I decided to reflash RR 2.3, which had been running fine for a couple of weeks previously. Immediately after flashing (which worked OK) the boot process wouldn't complete - it got as far as the RR splash screen then died (screen blank, and needed a long press on the power button to restart).
This happened several times. Eventually I removed and replaced the battery and it finally booted.
Does this sound like a hardware problem? I've noticed that the phone often runs quite warm, but I don't know if that's normal.
You have to flash stock rom, only way to know if there is something wrong with your phone, run it for couple days.
Now to the heat issue, it is due to
1: modem
2: kernel
3: both
Hi
I used the factory reset function on my tab a couple days ago to delete all apps and such and upon reboot it was stuck at the slowly flashing Samsung logo and would proceed no further. I left it for a good hour and a half in that state before I tried hard resetting it but no dice. I've had it do this before when I first rooted it, but unlike that time it doesn't replay the whole boot animation, just the logo part at the end of the animation. I managed to get it in clockwork mod or bootloader whatever that function is and cleared all the caches and did a reboot recovery (i believe thats what it was called) but upon reboot it did the same exact thing. So after that I gave up and went to bed, but the next day when I went back at it again it wouldn't even turn on. After messing around with the power button and volume button trying to get into recovery mode it finally turned on but went to the battery screen with no other actions. I've tried several times to get it into recovery mode but it either wont turn on or it just goes to the battery screen. I have it plugged into my pc at the moment and apparently it is in recovery mode or something because Odin recognizes it. Says [0:COM3] and the box is yellow, but the screen never turns on though when holding the power button and volume button while it's plugged into a pc, the pc recognizes something plugged into the USB slot. My pc is only recognizing it as a modem and will do nothing else with it.
I have the Starburst rom and the overclocked kernel installed and would like to either revert it to stock rom or perhaps the AOKP rom, milestone 6. Is there any way to do this if I can't boot it into a state where I can access the SD card on my pc? All the guides I've found always require I put files on the sd card to flash in clockwork recovery mod. Thanks for any assistance
Edit: Solved it myself, feel free to delete this post. Thanks!
Hey guys,
I just upgraded to Revolution HD 32.0 (coming from 31.0).
Here's what i did.
Boot into recovery.
Clear cache+dalvic-cache.
Install zip from sd-card (select revolution hd 32.0)
Started Aroma installer, left everything pretty much default, just removed some of the samsung junk.
After the install was finished i cleared the cache again and rebooted the device.
It started with the start up logo and after a minute or so "Android upgrading..." with the applications counting.
After that it shows "Finishing boot"
Then nothing, it stays at that for like 5 minutes, then reboots and stays stuck at the samsung logo.
So i decided to boot into recovery, whipe caches and fix permissions and reboot again.
Same thing happened as before.
So i wanted to do a full clean install of the rom, wiping all userdata.
Surprise! Can't get into recovery or download mode anymore.
Took out battery for a few minutes and put it back in.
Still can't access download mode or recovery with vol+menu+pwr...
Does anyone know what's going on, or better, how i can possibly fix this?
I have no idea how to access my device now to make changes...
Thanks a lot!
If you can't get into bootloader with vol down, home and power button then you have a brick, service centre repair required.
Worth trying a USB repair jig to get download before paying for a repair .

Hi there,
I am new to android phone and I had an old Grand Quattro GT-I82552 to play with.
I followed the guide at xda http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2494471, downloaded
- ODIN v3.07
- CWM Recovery v6.0.4.5
- Stock Recovery GT-I8552
I followed the steps and flash CWM Recovery v6.0.4.5, but on next boot it won't go to CWM recovery mode (I did removed battery first). I tried many times with other CWM from different sources and now my phone won't boot, it just show up the Samsung Logo with yellow triangles, then shutdown. It doesn't look like a loop boot, as it shutdown entirely. I can't charge the phone either.
I can still go in the usb downloading mode so I flashed the stock recovery, no luck, phone still can't boot.
Any advice is appreciated. Thank you.
EDIT: I found out that I was too careless to noticed that Volume UP is required for boot into CWM, instead as Volume DOWN. So I can boot into CWM now, however I supposed I can withhold my SuperSU install, and just boot into my stock Samsung appearance by normal shutdown and startup of my phone? I can't, everytime I tried to power on, it get's me to empty battery screen then shut off. I can't seem to charge the phone as well.
Have you tried charging the phone for a few hours while in recovery mode, and then turn the device on?

Thank you for your suggestion I will try that. Actually I tried to splice a USB wires and connect red/black to +/- contact for the battery and charge it for few hours, it doesn't seem to get hot, and certainly the phone still can't switch on with the battery.
Initially I thought maybe I messed up the firmware (really I only flash cwm) hence the phone's battery charge controller is not working that's why I tried external charging, but I am not too sure now.
My only hope is to get a way to verify I have enough battery power so I can flash the stock recovery in "downloading mode". I dare not flash recovery without full battery, though the download mode can be accessed while I plugin into PC's usb port.

Don't worry your phone will charge while in recovery around 2% in 6-7 minutes. After that you can flash stock os via Odin. Next time you try to flash recovery don't check auto reboot in Odin when flashing of tar file will complete remove battery and boot to recovery. Then flash supersu

Thanks for your advice. I took both of your advice and had my phone flashed with Stock ROM and now it returned to normal with fully charged battery sign shown. My battery appears to be fine with and fully charged, the battery current probably can't be detected with my broken phone back then.
With StockROM in and fully battery, I redo the custom flashing and I am now on custom ROM! Though have some problem with the ROM (battery report not correct, no front camera..) but I am happy now the phone is back to work now.
Thank you very much.
