Should I worry about nox if I want Samsung pay? - Galaxy S6 Edge Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Really want to root and install a custom rom but Samsung pay looks cool, I have heard if nox is tripped this won't work. Does this mean devs will work round nox to get Samsung pay working on tripped devices, or will I be screwed ?
Also android pay, is that available for all android devices and if so could I use that instead? Any help would be great.
Thanks

Original Note and Galaxy gear

The Galaxy gear is being blown out and can now be had for under a $100. Our notes are not officially supported but has anyone successfully paired these two?
I haven't considered a smart watch up until now...but at this price, I would bite just to fool around with it if I knew there was some custom rom that could make it work.

Yes I have paired the two. Not everything will fully work though. If the i717 had a 4.3 touchwiz rom, everything would work. Unfortunately the i717 only has a 4.1.2 touchwiz rom. I've tried pairing with 4.1.2 and can only get the phone, and media player working. No weather, no s-voice, or notifications. If you pick a 4.3 or higher rom you can follow this thread about pairing with the nexus 5. It will walk you thru the process of installing all the apps properly to get notifications working. You can also install a custom rom onto the gear. As long as your comfortable with tethering data over bluetooth to your watch, It's highly recomended! It's like having a fully functioning android phone in your watch!!!

why S3 not Getting kitkat reason?

Someone said s3 not getting kitkat bcause of the 1gb ram not enough but did you know samsung galaxy core 2 have 780mb ram and its running kitkat and its stable can anybody explain this?
damn samsung
because samsung sucks thats why
Because its old phone which had a lot of updates. From 4.0.4 to 4.3
Can you imagine how much money cost update? And update do not earn any money.
They say they would not be able to deliver the best user experiece which in their case means TouchWiz. Many people report that TouchWiz is a resource hog.
Some articles even suggest that contrary to Samsung's statement NOW WITH KitKat TouchWiz would run smoother.
For example:
http://au.ibtimes.com/articles/5167...t-top-5-optimisation-samsung.htm#.U-JwXWOM64s
I believe it's money:
-rewriting&optimizing TouchWiz for KitKat $$$
-pushing update on servers $$$
-not selling bigger phones ("want KitKat? Get S4!") $$$ (for them)
It's a good business decision money wise but morale wise ... Not.

Thanks for Thanks explaination but qs make a kitkat rom and did you think the rom will be no bugs and problem like s4 and note2 kitkat update?
If you would like KITKAT flash a custom rom.
Because Samsung wants money.

I dont think so.. Better idea is Samsung doesn´t want to loose money for FOURTH update for SIII and if you want to have update whatever it takes? With lot of bugs etc... Or with Knox..
Seeems like Custom Rom is the way to go here. I am running CM 11 M9 with no problems on my i9300. Love the custom roms!
I don't know about the things said earlier posts but there is a system problem with GS3. Gs3 has a file system partition (wherw ROM with all if its blaotware installs) of about 1.5 gb. The Samsung released new kitkat with all of it new bloatware in it goes beyond 1.5 GB that is to be precise 1.7 GB. Samsung has to cut short its all (paid) bloatware in order to keep the KK rom running in GS3 which samsung cannot (afford) to do. That's why they all together decided not to update the device at all. And despite the device already got enough updates that is from 4.0 to 4.3 and that the device was 2 and half year old now also added to th2 fact samsung not taking pain to update this beast.
As far as Hardware is concerned GS3's hardware is more than enough to handle KK ROMs even the latest Android L. Hardware is NOT the issue. It's all about Samsung being economical about it's bloatware income and team management for this update.

Phone buying support

Hi!
Im planning to buy new phone but since the market is so big I have no idea what to choose. I was currently looking to buy the new iphone 7 but due the lack of jailbrakeble software I think I have to continue on android. I have been apple user since beginning until the ip 5 after that I swich to samsung s4 the flagship of that time but it was terrible, I really really hate the touchwiz. After that experience I still gave android another chance and found myself a MIUI device wich was great so I have been miui user for 3 years and I really loved it until they started to price up the phones and not updating the old phones. Now I was thinking the galaxy s7 because of the new feature where you can turn off the app drawer wich is evertything thats wrong with android for my oppinion but still I dont know what to choose. Should I wait for the s8 or take pixcel? I really like if the phone UI is something you can tweak and play with and ofcourse I love the xposed modules and rooting is a must. The budget is not the problem I just need to find a new good phone. Is there anything out there that im missing?
Hope some people have some ideas for me
Thank you!!

That's Sim factory unlocked, not bootloader.
You always can port any rom you want, butit doesn't matter, you can't flash device with bootloader locked.
Another option for unlocking bootloader is by using sunshine apps, check their web on www.theroot.ninja to check if your device is available to unlock. Cheers.

rootninja only seems to support htc and motorola phones. i originally purchashed dr.fone root because it supported rooting the s3 mini i had. Recently I purchased the s4 sgh-1337 because it was a samsung phone with 2gb ram that dr.fone supported rooting. I do not like this phone as the battery does not stay charged long due to it basically has the s3 mini battery to power a 5" screen. I plan on buying another samsung phone soon. do you recomend any models I should buy that can be rooted easily that I can put a custom rom onto?

Well, Smartphone with exynos chip has slow Android development.
If you are flashaholic and happily to try bleeding edge development ROM, obviously the answer is Google's Nexus/Pixel smartphone, it's the largest community shared ever, just pick any of nexus 5 or 6 variant. Even the old nexus 5 2013 still in active development until now.
But if you are hardcore Samsung fans (apparently), just pick any model that using Qualcomm chipset, especially the latest one.. I can't recommend specific model because haven't yet used any Samsung's phones, sorry 'bout that.
Or the easiest way, always check xda forum for specific phones model to help you deciding.
Cheers.

the google nexus pixel seems to be a good phone but cost more than Iwant to spend on a phone. I'm looking to spend nieghborhood of 100.00. I'm not necisarily a diehard fan of samsung just that I have had quite of few of them and had good luck with them and been satisfied with them except for this s4 that sucks the battery down when I hardly use it. Looking to give this one to my sister after buying one I can customize and set up the way I want.

Verizon project treble?

Does anybody know if project treble will come to the Verizon model? If it does, does it mean that we can install custom ROMs finally? Thanks. Also, are there any Pixel like custom ROMs where both speakers work, s pen works with palm rejection, and is pretty bug free? If I need to get rid of the Verizon model and buy wifi I will. Thanks!
